Hi, I’m Joel, a 37-year-old digital strategist and writer looking for a calm, stable share house.

I work mostly online across digital strategy, digital media, content systems, SEO, tech/startup projects, and AI systems design. My background includes several years as Managing Editor at SitePoint, plus leadership/editorial roles with The Next Web, Envato, DesignCrowd, and Lifehack, so I’m very used to the world of web, dev education, online publishing, and computer-based work.

A peaceful home, good internet, and a respectful rhythm matter a lot to me. I’ve worked remotely with teams since 2006, so I understand remote-work etiquette and care about protecting a calm working rhythm, especially when people need focus and flow state. I’m usually at my computer working, reading, or writing, and I’m good at keeping to myself while still being friendly for the occasional chat. I’m always happy to talk web, product strategy, digital media, AI tools, or where the industry is heading if someone’s interested, but I don’t need the house to be constantly social.

I’m clean, considerate, and mindful of shared areas. I’m not after a party house. I’m looking for somewhere relaxed, adult, and low-drama, with people who like their own space but can still communicate directly and keep the home comfortable.

Rent is a first priority for me, and I’m happy to use automatic payments or Centrepay.

I selected 6 months as a flexible starting point, not because I’m looking to bounce quickly. I’m flexible around available dates and arrangements where the fit is right, and if the house works well, I’m open to longer-term stability.

I’m looking for share-house stability as my normal setup for the foreseeable future, not just a quick stopgap.

It would just be me, with minimal belongings: computer, clothes, and essentials. I have adult children I’m close with, but this would be for me only. No pets of my own, but I’m very comfortable with cats and dogs, including some dog training experience, and I’ve unexpectedly become a cat person in recent years. I’m respectful of pets and happy living in a home with them.
