Hi, my name is James and I am looking for a room to stay in long term where I can have my elderly cat or a place to stay in the short term while I find suitable long term accommodation. I am 41 years old and an Australian citizen. My move out date for my current accommodation is Saturday the 6th of December.
Since July I have rented a room in Thornlie for $310 pw. Prior to this I spent a month in Fremantle paying $200 per week, and before this I rented my own apartment in Inglewood since 2018, paying $400 a week before a no-fault eviction (the property was sold). I can supply rental references for all these properties to show that rent has always been paid promptly on time and the properties have been maintained in a clean and tidy state. I am also able to supply a current police clearance.
I am a mental health support worker by trade having worked mainly in the housing and homelessness sector, however I am currently not working due to disability and am on a Centrelink pension. It is my intention to return to suitable work as soon as possible and I am working closely with a Disability Employment Service case worker to make this happen, however stable accommodation would very much help.
My interests are music, film, art and gaming although I do enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and the beach. I hold a postgraduate degree in film and was lucky enough to have a portion of my thesis published this year by the University of Mississippi.
My cat Bunny is 16 and an indoor cat. I have had her since she was a kitten. She is very healthy for her age despite allergies. She is very affectionate but will spend most of her time asleep. I would be happy to keep her in my room.
I am single (not looking), quiet and a rare/social drinker. I am neurodiverse. I am seeking a house of similar people, who are warm, friendly and good communicators but also appreciate their alone time. I am not concerned with the age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality of my potential housemates.
Thanks for reading. If you think I may be a good fit for your house, or have more questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
James
