I'm Greg. I’m very adept at living in houses having done it most of my 31 years. My friends think I’m funny and kind and smart and totally rad
Im working part-time childcare and hospo as I try to smash out full time uni and finish my science and law degrees by the end of 2026. I previously completed a BFA in writing.
When im not studying and working i’ll be playing AFL, video and tabletop gaming, writing, and dabbling in music, art, and stand-up comedy with more enthusiasm than any actual prowess. I'm generally pretty active in my community with clubs and politics/activism: everything from community groups, adhoc political activism, and party political (Greens). However, my participation is pretty minimal at the moment as I try to balance work, getting back to full time study, and catching my breath after a half a decade going hard at it working for Greens' parliamentarians and the state party in professional and volunteer capacities.
Basically, I'm trying to not feel like too much of a hypocritical hedonist as I enjoy life, friends, and interests in the anthropocene; build community that keeps the horrors at bay; and when I can, try to make an effort to nudge us towards something that is less of a capitalist hellscape.
Around the house, Im a rather tidy and clean person. I like sharing grocery bills and meals with my housemates for connection and convenience if that's something others like to do. An extra friend or two of a housemate for brunch or dinner is always a welcome addition. You can definitely bail me up for a prolonged yap-sesh but dont mind me if ive got my noise cancelling headphones on when im low on social capacity and trying to get through some chores or study. I like a common space for a shared meal, a coffee, chilling, movie nights, records, friday night wine, nintendo 64, and board games.
I've got a collection of lovely furniture and decor which I can bring with me or get rid of depending on space and vibes of the house. I have a pretty bodacious hi-fi system and record collection if that's something others would like to share in the living room.
Im hoping for a bedroom big enough to accommodate a desk or otherwise a space somewhere else in the house I can study. I've got a silly amount of camping gear, tools, and art and craft supplies so it would be fantastique if there is some room in a garage or shed to store those things.
Danke!
Greg
