Michael and Jane

I (Michael) am a 34 year old American male beginning Law school at USYD February 2026. My girlfriend, Jane, will be here with me in Australia for 1 year. I have lived abroad in Taiwan for 6 years and am looking forward to exploring all Sydney has to offer. I am studious and interested in healthy living and fitness. I juggle, run, cycle, swim, and enjoy calisthenics. I cook, enjoy language study, and want to pick up music this year. I enjoy working with plants and prefer keeping a clean home with house plants.

I (Jane) am a Taiwanese-American intercultural coach and trainer, taking a sabbatical year to spend time with my boyfriend for his first year of law school. Growing up in the US, it was a transformational experience to return to Taiwan where I've been living over the past 15 yrs, so during my time in Sydney I plan to write about this roots journey. We will also be doing some traveling in the land down under! My coaching and training work is all remote, via agencies based in the US. Previously I also had a career in global business development and marketing. I have a BA in Sociology from the UC Berkeley and an MA in international affairs & business from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. I am a native speaker of Mandarin and have business proficiency in Japanese. In my spare time I like to read, journal, go on walks, do yoga, and cook. I'm really looking forward to exploring all that
Australia has to offer!

We enjoy a light and balanced social life. We may have small dinners and game nights with friends on occasion but will mostly be studying and working on personal projects. We are both avid readers and writers.
