As well as looking for an established home to move to, I would really like to apply to some of the houses I’ve been looking at in Coburg, Fawkner, Pascoe Vale, Brunswick, Preston, Reservoir, so if you’re looking for a place in those areas I’d love to team up with someone and apply together and start a new place together! I have the furniture to set up a whole new home, just need someone to move with!

I have to leave my current beloved place in Coburg because the owner is selling, so I have about 2 more months to move. I’ve paid for this month so I’d probably prefer to move around/before the end of the month, but can be flexible. I’ve also been here for almost 4 years with no issues so I have good rental history and references!

I’m Laura, I’m 26, queer, and AuDHD. I’m home most of the time to my limited physical capacity and am not able to work, but in the past I was a music photographer, and still do lots of creative things. I’ve been learning to make music, sing, and play guitar, as music is one of my special interests and I love writing songs. I also have special interests in/my other hobbies involve film, tv, makeup, drag, animals, nature, fungi, and video games.

I’m on the disability pension which is a stable income for me and has allowed me to live comfortably for many years. It’s more stable than work ever was as it won’t be suspended for any reason and increases every so often.

I also have some support workers who come around weekly to help me do things around the house and prep food, and a weekly cleaning service via my NDIS funding which benefits the whole house! I struggle to manage cleaning and household tasks on my own but I have funding to get the house professionally cleaned weekly: my room, the bathroom, kitchen, and common areas vacuumed, mopped, scrubbed, tidied. My support workers will also be around to help with tasks during the week if something needs to be done, both of whom are very lovely and cool people.

I have chronic fatigue, chronic pain, and POTS, which means I often don’t have a lot of energy or physical capacity, so I’m at home a lot of the time. When I do have energy I will be working on music, writing, watching films, gaming, doing creative makeup and taking photos, or spending time in the garden. When I do get out of the house I like to go for nature and mushroom foraging walks, and I love going to the cinema, op shopping, or going out for nice vegan food and matcha.

I’m a quiet and introverted person, as I am autistic and a bit socially anxious, but I’m very friendly and easygoing and I do really enjoy connecting with people, especially over shared interests. I am always kind, considerate, and respectful, and would hope for the same in return. I’m looking for a balance of someone I get along with and can comfortably hang out with sometimes, but who is also comfortable with alone time and giving space. I’m happy to hang out but also have to recharge alone and unmask. I’ve become quite stressed out by feeling pressure to socialise a lot at home, so it would be nice to live with someone that understands I might often need space, but we can chat and hang out when I’m feeling up to it. This is why I might prefer to live with someone who works regular hours so I have a bit of time to myself, but of course can be flexible with this.

I also would really love to find a studio/granny flat for this reason, so I have a bit more space and privacy. That would be most ideal :’) A little granny flat in the back of someone’s garden is my dream.

I also really love decorating my room and house and I love collecting art, trinkets, and old furniture, and like to scatter whimsy and colour throughout my home. I hope to always improve the place I live, like how I worked on the garden in my current place.

I have a cat, Smokey, that I keep indoors and let out in the yard on a harness. He’s super sweet and friendly to literally everyone and he’d love new human friends to socialise with. He’s very well behaved and nice to have around. He’s an angel and a blessing. Totally sweet and non-aggressive, and happy to chill with me inside and then have a little supervised outside time on the harness.

I grew up on farms and only find peace in nature, so I also need a place with some form of backyard, courtyard, garden, or outside space or else I will go crazy being cooped up indoors. The houses I want to apply for all have outside space, so we could have a nice big backyard and garden! I would love a backyard with some veggie patches and chickens again like my place in Pascoe Vale years ago :’) That would be the dream :-)

I would love to stay in/nearby Coburg if possible, I love it here and it feels like home. But this is flexible of course and I’m happy to live in surrounding Northside suburbs.

Also very importantly: I need a place that is fairly close to public transport as I can’t do a huge amount of walking all the time and it makes it hard for me to leave the house. So I’ve mainly been looking at places that aren’t too far from the train/trams.

I would like to stay long-term and find somewhere that feels like home to settle in for a long while. I would hope to find a housemate or rental provider that is looking for the same.

I also am looking hopefully for a decently sized or larger unfurnished room, as I have a queen bed and a few pieces of vintage furniture that are quite special that I do not want to part with.

I also have furniture to contribute to the house if needed, and lots of art and decorations I like to put around the house if you would like that! I have a washer, dryer, fridge, couch, and lots of kitchen stuff. But can also downsize it all to fit a new place.

And I have plants to add to the garden!

I also need to use a shower chair due to my disabilities, but is fairly small and can be moved out easily. Would also be great to find a place with a bath :’)
