Hey there, I’m Pat. I’m currently an undergraduate student at the Australian National University (ANU) studying International Relations and Development Studies. I’m in my fourth year of my double degree and am set to be graduating in July next year. I’ve lived on compass most of my degree and have had a great experience meeting new people and furthering friendships. I’ve also been lucky enough to have undertaken a scholarship Resident mentor role in which I’ve had the responsibility around my accomodation to look after and help others in their university lives. Outside of the ANU I enjoy being in nature. I love running, mountain biking and hiking. To be honest I like anything that can that get be out exploring this beautiful thing called life. I also volunteer for ACT ParkCare and try to attend ANU’s Intrepid Landcare society. In the times I am not being active in nature or studying, I like to cook, bake and eat copious amounts of food and coffee whilst enjoying a book or watching a film. At the moment my favourite book is Jonas Jonassons’ The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared - a Swedish forest gump type story which outlines the true absurdity of reality. I’m a very curious person and like to hear everyone’s story. However, I also can be rather quiet sometimes, preferring my alone time. I wouldn’t say I’m a clean freak but I do feel cleaning therapeutic and like to have a my living spaces tidy. I'm looking for a share house with like minded people, students or early professionals.

Hi! I’m a 31 year old guy currently living on the Surf Coast in Victoria but moving to Canberra for 6-9 months starting in July for a work contract. I work in construction management so have long hours and am generally not home all that much. When I’m not at work, I’m surfing or heading up to the mountains to ski and camp so unless our work hours line up you might start to wonder if I’m even living in the house! Around the house I’m very tidy and respectful. I’m always up for a chat and/or activity but likewise don’t mind living with people who would rather keep to themselves either! I have a small amount of family in Canberra but otherwise don’t know anyone so it would be great to have a housemate or two while I’m up there. I’m planning on staying on my lease in Victoria so I’d rather not sign onto a new lease if possible. I’ll be coming up with my dog, Jasper, too. He is more than happy to lounge in a yard or even inside all day as long as there is a sunbeam to lie in! He is 5 years old and has no destructive behaviours - I have a vet reference for him too. He is however, reactive around other dogs (cats are all good) if he doesn’t know them so it would be better that he’s the only dog in the home. Looking forward to meeting you!
