Work:
I have been an artist and art director in games, TV and film, TTRPGs etc and am now writing a book and creating online tutorials about *gestures* all that. I will spend a lot of time glaring glassy eyed at my laptop or a pc in my room, but am happy to mingle and chat and chill with a movie when not being all creative like.
As a flatmate:
I have strong communication skills prefering to talk about issues early before they become problems, am generally non judgemental, encouraging and supportive. A great listener.
I have been house broken living in many a share house since I was a student. I clean up after myself as I go, keep a schedule of cleaning to work with my ADHD and, oh, I come with a bonus self emptying Roomba. Noice.
Food:
I am a foodie and a solid cook, but unfortunately I have to work around several food intolerances that prevent me from being vegan/vegetarian. Absolutely happy to be pescatarian. No bad allergies, I just have to avoid some foods like soy in large amounts. I like cooking shared meals now and again with my flatmates, as I find it really brings the household together. But that's a bonus.
Relationship and friends:
I am single, but no plans to date any time soon, having recently seperated from a girlfriend I lived with for five years, so am looking for a chill, friendly space to sort of figure things out and reboot my life. I tend to (rarely) go out to socialise with my friends rather than invite friends over, so there won't be any major foot traffic.
Hobbies and likes:
I am a bit of a nerd and seriously know far too many fun facts about Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. I like to read, cook, play roleplaying games via Discord and paint miniatures. I love movies, netflix binges with popcorn, pub trivia nights, exploring restaurants and rummaging through market places.
I suspect in this phase of my life I may return to doing theatre work, either front of house or crew, which I have a background in- so theatre types will dig me too.
Music:
I was learning piano, but don't own one. So.... that's good for noise levels I guess?
I tend to listen to my weird ass goth music on noise cancelling headphones. Its all good.
Vices:
I don't drink much due to my food intolerances, just an occasional beer or glass of wine now and again in a social context or meal. I don't smoke and can't stand the lingering smell, so need a non smoker home. I did my wild crazy party days back in my twenties, so I am good, thanks. But hey, you enjoy yourself. No judgement here.
Faith:
I am an agnostic. Buddhist leanings.
Space needed:
I am looking for a room that can hold a double bed, a bookself and a big desk for my PC- and that is light enough for house plants to thrive. I don't have a car, so don't need a car space, but I could really do with a few meters of storage space in a garage or shed initially, so I don't need to hire an additional unit whilst I sort and sell off old furniture and gear from previous relationship.
Lease periods:
I am looking for at least 6 months, so I can adjust back to being on my own. Depending on work availability, I may go much longer.
Bonus content and stretch goals:
I am good with pets, even odd ones like snakes, crabs and ferrets. But not spiders. Nope. Nooooooope. No thanks.
