Hey I’m max I moved out of an abusive environment when I was 16 and never looked back, I really want to finish yr 12 at dickson colledge but won’t be able to unless I can find long term accommodation. I’m trying not to stress but i only have 3 days to move out and nobody is replying which means I will end up homeless again. I was staying with some really nice people but they are moving out of state in two weeks so house has become unavailable, so as soon as a place is available I would move in immediately. I have a job at a wearhouse and work as much as I can. I’m a clean, consider others and hope you can look past the fact I’m 17.
I'm searching for a new place to live in the Inner North of Canberra as it has lots to do and it is close to everywhere I normally need to be. I've lived and worked in lots of strange places with a huge variety of people over the years. Some of them were party houses which was cool at the time but I could do without it now. Mostly I am working and studying, not making much noise though I do like a good chat and friends dropping in is fine with me. I also get out of town whenever I can, especially between semesters. If you think we can help each other, send a message.
Hi all, I'm a sociable and respectful roommate who works full-time. I moved from Tasmania 4 years ago and have lived in two houseshares, two years in Kaleen and two years in Yarralumla (currently still renting here). My current houseshare is splitting up unfortunately as the owner is returning, meaning we will have to vacant the premises. I have a few household items (washing machine, vacuum cleaner, 50 inch TV, etc) that might help towards a current or potential houseshare. I have lived with a mix of couples, males and females where we have had a mutual understanding to actively participate in the household cleaning. Ideally, I am looking for somewhere close to the city (so I don't have to pay for parking whilst at work). My interests include my love for sports (especially rugby), and any dogs (my parents own 4 beautiful Rotties). I tend to spend the majority of the week out of the house, either at work or at training. My move date is flexible and am willing met any others looking to team up or believe I may be a good fit for their place. Thanks for taking the time to read the above..
Hello! I have relocated from Brisbane for a grad role here in Canberra. I'm 22 and like to live a pretty routine lifestyle throughout the week, but love to get out and about, and away for the weekends. I am hoping for easy going and social housemates, who can appreciate clean and tidy shared living spaces. Looking to team up with some like minded people to create a happy, home away from home.
I am pretty easy going, I moved to Canberra in 2011 for Uni and just haven't left. I enjoy time to myself but I love a group dinner and good conversation. I do currently have a pet Guinea pig, he doesn't take up much space and at the moment lives in an indoor appropriate cage on a covered deck. My partner and I don't live together although he stays overnight a few times a week, we're both fairly quiet people and always respectful of other peoples space. I'm looking for somewhere to rent until at least late August when I'm hoping to move overseas to study.
Hi there, my name is Zara. I'm a student at ANU. Before I studied in Perth and shared a house with a couple there. I'm pretty laid back and respectful. I'm mostly busy with study as a typical "Chinese student" lol but also love to hanging out from time to time.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I love music, books, art and gardening. I'll talk with anyone about most anything. Grew up in rural NSW but have lived in Canberra for 2 years. I've been in many share houses over the years and I will always do my part when it comes to keeping the place clean and respecting the space of others. I appreciate good hygiene practices. I enjoy/need my quiet time and may have quiet days, but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. In my down time, I usually spend time in the garden, going for walks, or reading and I love heading out for a drink and a boogie occasionally. I am currently studying horticulture at the CIT. Looking to find either a room in an established house or teaming up with some people to form a new share house. Looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I have a lot of furniture that I can bring along, as well as a pretty decent record collection. Flexible on move date, anytime from now. Have two cute kitties (Fernando and Harley) that I'd love to move with, but no hassle if not.
I'm an easy going 23 year old who is currently working full time at the War Memorial. I like watching TV, playing games, cooking and traveling. I'm clean, but not obsessively so and will pull my weight in taking care of a place. I love to have a chat about anything, but I also need some time to myself and respect a roommate's privacy. I'm looking for a roommate that is reasonably social, tidy and is interested in sharing a meal or a drink from time to time.
I'm a single female public servant with a very friendly, toilet trained indoor cat called Yin (Yinneko). I used to be in the Army and spent most of my 12 year career living with housemates. Since leaving Defence I've been renting alone but miss living with other people and would like to take some stress off my living expenses when my lease runs out in August. I'm a very busy lady: I row competitively so I'm generally out of the house by 530am, I'm also still an Army reservist and sing in a band so I'm rarely home before 6 or 7 pm during the week and tucked into bed by 9. Weekends I like to let my hair down but am generally pretty strict with my weekday routine. I'd ideally like to live somewhere close to the north side of Lake Burley Griffin to reduce my commute each day and so I can return home to shower and change after training each morning instead of dragging half my wardrobe in to the work change rooms each week. Living closer to the city also means I can arrive home earlier and assist with cooking meals, daily chores and relax watching some TV rather than driving 30 mins in and out of the city each direction (more during peak hour), or better yet: walk or cycle to work! When I am home, I like to watch TV or listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks and crochet, cook, sew, or craft. I read avidly, write (songs/journaling) and draw; I also play acoustic guitar, piano and sing, but not all the time: I'll generally save belting my lungs out for band practice at our rehearsal space in Googong. I also like to get out of the house on weekends if the weather is nice: I'll generally go have a picnic, walk, hike, ride my bike, go swimming, take day trips to the beach, snow or local wineries or spend time with my friends. As I've been generally living solo since 2014, I have all of my own furniture including a 2 and 3 seater lounge suite, TV, Refrigerator, Washing machine, and of course my own bedroom furniture as well as a few bookcases, desk and a 6-seater outdoor setting. I am able to palm a few items off to friends and family in VIC so if there is no room, I am happy to only come with what I need. Please remember that I DO come with a furry creature. This is non-negotiable, so if you don't like cats, are allergic or have indoor pets of your own, this may not be the ideal situation. Yin is a Rescue and can get a little territorial around other dogs and cats but is 100% sold on humans. She just LOVES people. She will be the centre of attention at dinner parties and will happily chill and watch TV with you either from your lap or the back of the couch. I am not particularly fond of dogs and ack that not everyone likes cats so I don't take it personally if this turns you off :) I would prefer to get to know any prospective housemates prior to moving in together which is why I'm putting this up so early. My current lease doesn't run out until Mid August, but I'm sure you can agree it makes sense to ensure we get along and our values align. There is also an option to trial cohabitation before my current lease comes to an end if you'd like, noting that the 2Bed/1Bath house I currently live with is a little small but it would give us a good idea of whether or not we think we could live together. I have a few ex-housemates who are more than happy to discuss what it's like living with me. I've remained friends with most of them. I'm looking at 1 year leases with option to continue beyond this if circumstances remain extant.
Hi! I'm Vin, I work fulltime at ANU, teaching and doing cool research on mutant plants! When I'm not working, I like to kick back with a wine or cider and a good conversation or some Netflix. My passions include teaching, cooking, dancing and being active. I also enjoy playing board games, trying out new brunch spots on the weekends and going on hikes/picnics. I am a very tidy person and value cleanliness. I am quite social and easy going, but also appreciate my space and privacy sometimes. If this sounds like your ideal housemate, please get in touch and we can arrange to meet for a coffee!
Hi, my name is John, 33yrs old, single male. I am a Scottish/Australian with a military background. I enjoy exercising, listening to music, going to the movies, fishing, mountain biking, running round the lake, having a drink at the weekend, and astrophotography. My story: I grew up in Scotland and joined the military when I was 20 yrs old. After serving in Afghan, I worked in maritime security (Indian Ocean), then I moved to Australia to follow my then girlfriend. The move to Aus was easy as my mother was born here but moved back to scotland at a young age. This has allowed me to hold an Aussie passport from birth. Once I arrived here, I did the typical tourist thing and bought a van (from Kings Cross) to tour the east coast; Sydney to Cairns. The van broke down on the first hill out of Sydney (true story) which was a bummer but all part of life’s rich tapestry I imagine. After travelling, I picked up work with a commercial bomb disposal company. I now work as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician and travel around Australia/Asia Pacific clearing sites. I work away from home 2-4 months of the year. Lastly, the disclaimers; I am tidy, respectful of others privacy and accomodating of others needs. I am always willing to help where I can as your flatmate.
About my situation: My current lease is expiring soon and I'm looking for a new place to stay within a 15 minute bus ride to the city. I'm currently working part-time as a barista in the city and I'll be graduating next month from a postgraduate course. About me: I'm a laid-back guy who generally prefers to keep to himself. I don't mind the occasional Netflix binge or catch-up with a fellow housemate, but I read a lot and normally have personal projects that I dedicate a lot of time to (I'm a soon-to-be graduate after all). I like to keep my surroundings clean and tidy, especially shared living areas. On weekends I like to put some hair on my chest with some friends at home or at a quiet watering hole.
I am looking for a shared accommodation - separate bed room and bath with shared equipped Kitchen or maybe a studio. I am in interested in Turner, Braddon, O’Connor, Ansilie, Acton, Reid, Campbell, Lyneham, Watson, Dickson, Hackette or anywhere near Acton. I am Arun Shanker from India, I am 52 Male and I will be in Canberra from April 7 th to Aug 7 2018, I am coming there as a visiting researcher in CSIRO on Endeavor Executive Fellowship of the Department of Education and Training, Govt of Australia. I am easy going and mostly read and work in my free time, I like to cook my food, mostly steamed and some low oil stir fry, I like to meet people and talk, I like travelling and I am a plant science researcher, an amateur astronomer and meteorology hobbyist. I spend most of my free time reading and listening to music, star gazing, watching movies. My interests are religion, philosophy, geopolitics, sci-fi and all that. I will be in Canberra from April to Aug 2018, it is a four month programme. I need accommodation for four months. be if available a separate fully furnished studio apartment. I will be cooking myself.
My name is Ash, I am a 28 year old IT professional (a bit of a nerd). I would consider myself social but also respectful, and am always willing to have a beer with my housemates. I like playing board games, camping and whenever I can I love to travel. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I am Kartik Gupta from India. I will be pursuing PhD in Computer Science at Australian National University. I love traveling and adventure sports. I am very social and like going out for fun activities.
I’m 24 and I work full-time as a paralegal. I also study full-time at ANU doing Arts/Law. Despite that, I still manage to be social and enjoy hanging out — including a drink when I’m at home. I have a keen interest in films, music and politics. I also enjoy exploring the bars, restaurants and cafes of Canberra.
Hey I'm Campbell. I'm 22 and currently living in West Belconnen. I've lived in and around Canberra my whole life and have family here. I'm looking for an easy going, quiet house near the city to move into for the next year or so. I'm a graduate from the Art School at ANU, currently working full time as a barista in the city. I'm looking for a place closer to work so I can walk / ride my bike and save a bit of money. I work from Tuesday to Saturday, and will be out of the house most days from around 8am to 6 or 7pm. I love good food, wine and coffee, and have plenty of coffee brewing equipment to bring to a new place including an espresso machine. I'm vegetarian and enjoy cooking when I get the chance. At home I'm fairly quiet, spending most of my time just relaxing with a book or watching Netflix. I don't really stay up very late and am usually up early in the morning. I don't smoke or do any drugs, but I do like a drink every now and then. I'm not one for big parties but I do enjoy having a couple of friends around for a bottle of wine and cheese every so often, so if that's your thing then you'd be more than welcome to join. I'm really into music and play guitar in a local band. I like to listen to music at home but have no problem using headphones and can keep noise to a minimum. I also like going out to catch local shows and art events around the city. I have a car and would prefer secure or off-street parking. If I can get a place close enough to the city I won't use my car to get to work so I might not be driving it every day. If there's anything else you want to know just send me a message. Cheers
Full time professional recently relocated to Canberra from North Coast NSW. Clean living, healthy lifestyle, love to cook and make cold press juices each week. I don't eat a lot of meat and am very happy to share with the most fastidious vego / vegan / paleo / gluten intolerant requirements - (for example, the maybe 5% of my diet that comes from dead animals i can consume when out of the house). As an added bonus for my housemate/s: I plan to be away often on weekends or out being active keeping fit. I have lived in share houses / apartments, or in close quarters situations with people on ships / yachts and in company 'camp' accommodation for most of my life, with many different nationalities and enjoy learning new recipes and cooking methods :) I'm a big travel fan having been to over 40 different countries, so am happy to share travel tales and be sociable. I work Mon - Fri in the City (Braddon), and ideally would find somewhere within a reasonable walking or cycling distance from there. I'm currently searching for an amazing place to call home and my next wonderful housemate/s to share it with. Open to house or large apartment, but definitely looking for somewhere leafy, quiet, with a sunny place to sit in winter and near a park or bush for walking and bike paths for cycling :) I have a 2 bedroom house full of furniture in storage, enough to have everything set up and functional in a new place fairly quickly. Would need a car parking space and some secure storage for sporting gear / toys, preferably own bathroom / ensuite. Ideal situation would be to secure a lease on the perfect house (3+ bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms, LUG etc) then find a a housemate, or team up to find a place that meets everyone's needs / wants and go in on the lease together. If you think you might be interested to see if we could make a harmonious household, I'd love to hear from you :) I'll be able to respond to msgs on here or sms after about 6pm of a day. Best of luck in your search
