$200/week•31 year old woman
Hi, I'm Jennifer (she/they) and I'm looking to share an organised and homely place with up to three people in the inner to outer suburbs of Melbourne for at least a year! I have previous flatmate experience and I would contribute to keeping the home tidy, relaxed and light-hearted.
When I'm not indulging in stories, characters and creative endeavors, among which include drawing, writing and learning the guitar (again), you'll find me zipping about on rollerblades, my bike, or feet when it comes to swing dancing. I like to chat casually and learn about what interests you, I have a silly sense of humour and like to sing (in tune, I promise) while doing chores. Otherwise, I am reserved and prefer a quiet space, so I'm conscious of noise and will always check with you what's acceptable. Happy to share activities together where it's welcomed, or do our own things.
I work as a freelancing illustrator and concept artist with multiple clients at once in the entertainment sector, with steady gigs the last 7 years. I handle my budget carefully and have several months' worth of savings.
✨ The reasons I'll make an ideal housemate:
- I am organised, master of maximizing space, do my chores and pay bills on time, and I prefer rosters for chores. I am still flexible with making adjustments, but I operate better with an agreed framework and clear expectations.
- Clear communicator who is respectful of boundaries. I aim to foster an honest and kind space.
- Friendly presence, I'm naturally curious about most subjects and am keen to get to know my roommates better through casual chats.
- Most of my activities are quiet, although I do have online calls and games with friends once or twice a week in the evening. We don't go much past 10:30pm, however.
- I don't drink alcohol except for special occasions and don't smoke or partake in other recreational drugs. I respect sensible use of the first two but would rather avoid being around the third, save for medicinal use.
- Fond of cats! Dogs are dependant on how well they're trained and how often they bark. Unfortunately an enthusiastic furbaby is too much for me.
- LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly and considerate of other cultures and beliefs.
🏠 What I will really need:
- Unfurnished room so I can set up a desk to work-from-home, single bed and some shelving furniture.
- Patience for mental health (I have my support needs met) and occasional social awkwardness.
- Somewhere to store my bike.
💜 Otherwise, great to have would be:
- Additional space for arts, crafts, and storing and handling my online shop stock.
- Ability to invite friends over occasionally for dinner, drawing or board game activities. I always give notice.
- Space to park a small hatchback car. Street is fine, so long as it's reliable.
- I cook for myself, but should we want to share meals, I have some dietary limitations so some planning and consideration would be awesome.
If you resonate with most or all of these, then please get in touch and let's arrange a meetup to get to know each other!
