Flatmates AI Bio Generator FAQ

So you may have noticed (if you’re creating a person listing) that you have the option to use AI to generate your bio. If you’ve got any questions on why the robots are taking over - check our faqs below.

Why are we doing this?

Being a tech company, we’re always interested in updates and changes to technology and how we can adapt or use this new tech on our platform. Some of our team pitched this idea for an internal competition and it went so well, we decided to make it live to our users.

We see a 11.5% drop off from our person listing flow, when seekers get to the “describe yourself” section. We’re hoping with AI taking the effort out of having to write about yourself, more people with complete their listings.

We also receive a lot of complaints that members don’t put enough information in their listings in the free text field and we’re hoping AI can help with this.

Why is this only available for Seekers?

Do I have to use this?

Nope! If you don’t want to use AI and want to write your listing yourself, just write tis out in the free text field as normal.

What happens to my data?

Flatmates has a strict data and privacy policy, which you can see here. We maintain the same standard fo our data protection for this feature and we don’t send any sensitive information to ChatGPT.

Only the mandatory info you have u in your stings, plus the option to add in your interest and your “house vibe” in the AI-bio generator field will be used to create your bio from ChatGPT.

What AI program are you using?

For this iteration, we are using ChatGPT.

Will this be made available for Property Listers?

At this stage no, we are only running this for Seekers, but this may change in the future.

How long will this be available for?

We are currently running this experiment for a month, but this could be extended, depending on results.

How many times can I generate my bio?

You’ll be able to do this a max of two times.

Can I edit my bio once it’s been generated?

For sure! Make it your own!
