I'm a fourth year uni student in Canberra (just back from a year long exchange in Taiwan), studying Chinese and Science. I'm tidy and pretty quiet, though I'm always up for a chat over a cup of tea. I'm looking for a tidy, friendly household (if you've got any cooking/cleaning rosters I'm keen to join). I love pets and I'd help walk dogs if you have them.
I am currently living in Dubbo with my partner of six years and we are looking for an opportunity to establish ourselves in Canberra. I will be commencing full time study at the University of Canberra for a Bachelor of Engineering and collecting Youth Allowance. Emily is currently seeking full-time work with interviews arranged for our next visit. Emily is a qualified barista and baker with four years experience and I am a qualified IT worker with four years experience. In addition to regular chores I would also be able to assist with any computer issues or advice if desired. We are traveling from Dubbo to Canberra every weekend this year to inspect rental properties but thus far we have been unsuccessful largely due to high demand. We would prefer short-term or mid-term living arrangements to establish ourselves in the city so that we may have easier opportunities to rent independently in the future. Move date is listed as 30/01 but we will be OK to move in whenever available.
I am a 5th year student at ANU and have just returned from 3 semesters overseas. I am a very independent, friendly, relaxed person. I like doing my own thing but also very much enjoy socialising with others. Easy-going and adaptable :). I will be heading back to Canberra in mid January so am available to see the house and meet the housemates from then :). Thank you!
I am a very clean and tidy person. I'm not loud, I don't smoke nor drink. I don't go out clubbing and what not. I do like to socialise but I respect when you need alone time. I am from a place near Bega and I will be starting uni at UC on the 13th of February.
I am about to start my PhD program in Ecology and Evolution at the ANU and have multiple interests. I will be landing in Canberra on 11 February. As I will have a range of fieldworks in the second semesters, I am not sure if I will be able to keep a place in Canberra from July on yet - but let's say I am looking for a long term accommodation. Despite the science, I like to spend some time developing my abilities in languages, music, literature, arts and dance as hobbies (sporadically). Currently, I have been embracing the practice of physical training weekly. Although I was raised in the countryside of Brazil, influenced by a traditional culture, I identify as an open person and love to learn from new experiences. My friends usually describe me as an independent person, with a nice taste for music, creative and communicative, however, with a funny need for being at least some time alone each day. I like travels and learning about other cultures from usually strange people. I never do anything that I do not feel secure/ready at doing, thinking about the consequences. I am tidy, easy going and respectful. If you like (the amazing) Brazilian food, we can share some in the weekends. :)
I am willing to chip in to all household chores and can whip up some pretty good meals and would be happy to cook sometimes for my housemates. Im a nurse coming to live in act to attend university commencing 13th of feb. Im looking for an initial place to live whilst settling into uni. There is the possibility of going back to sydney in 3 months hence looking for only 3 months atm but may need to extend this depending on whether i stay in canberra or not
Hi, I'm Sabrina, sent to Canberra by my company and having been in here for 2 months. I'm fun and laid-back, enjoying food and binge-watching movies. I work full-time but would also love to socialize!
I'm moving from Sydney to start postgrad study at ANU first semester this year - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Hi future housemates, My name is Richard, I'm 28 and I'll be moving to Canberra in January for work. I'm very laid back and sociable so get along with just about anyone. I keep pretty active, used to be a keen rower and now have a go at just about anything to stop going stir crazy! I've lived in share houses before so I'm happy living with housemates, doing my bit around the house, chilling out at home and respecting each other's space. I am neat and tidy, non smoker, social drinker but definitely not a huge party animal. Prefer to live with like minded people and become friends rather than just housemates.
The sitch: I’m looking to find at least 1 female professional around the same age to start up a new sharehouse. I’m moving as my current landlord rents rooms individually and has chosen a 50yo woman for the other room. Nuf said. I've been lurking on flatmates.com for a while (I'm lazy), and have now decided I might as well really start looking. *I have no urgent leave date, it just made me choose a date. I just have to give my landlord 2 weeks notice. The proposal: I’m hoping to meet someone with similar ideas and a complementary personality. We could rent a 3br house first and then choose a 3rd tenant together. I’m looking for a place in the burbs around Belconnen (Aranda, Macquarie, Page, Evatt etc), though I think Macquarie/Aranda are pretty good as they’re just off Belconnen way if you work in the city. This is completely up for negotiation, though, don’t worry :) I was thinking we could look for a newer house, but really my main concern is space and light as I hate tiny rooms with tiny windows. It’s for this reason I’d prefer the ensuite/master room as they tend to be bigger. Obviously I’d pay more rent. But if the other rooms are big, that’s not a problem. I come with barfridge, biggish TV, coffee table, dryer, kitchen table. I have all my own kitchen stuff and bedroom furniture. I’m totally open to negotiating on what we need to get – couch, big fridge, washing machine etc. Me: INTJ if you put any stock in that. I’m a non-smoker. I like to play videogames (PS4, XBONE – I can definitely buy headphones if you find the noise annoying), read, write, research random crap. I enjoy Reddit, YouTube and Netflix, fashion and makeup, and play ultimate Frisbee. I’m a 2ic in my customer-service based workplace, which I find a bit draining, so I like to chill with a peaceful cup of tea after work. I love discussions about philosophical ideas, politics, any random crap really as long as it’s not small talk haha. I suppose a fellow introvert will find it easier to live with me. That being said, I can be pretty social too - I love a good movie or cards night, or chilling together on mutual days off. I’ve been living in sharehouses for around 6 years with no major dramas, but I’m really looking to make a home and you’re an important part of that. You: Introvert or extrovert, I don’t care at all, as long as you don’t expect energetic conversation for the first hour or so after work. Non-smoker. Not a first-time home leaver (unless you’re an exception to the typical kinda thoughtless housemate those guys make). Just be clean and pay the bills and we’ll get along fine.
I am 33 years old, came late to tertiary education and have just completed my Honours in History, as a civilian, at ADFA. During the next twelve months I'll be working and putting in some private study before resuming my formal education in 2018. I am currently in Brisbane spending some time with my family. I am sharing a place at Campbell, but looking to move on. I was born in Canberra and intend making my home there. I am a non-smoker, a social drinker and enjoy the company of others. I'm tidy, domesticated, easily to get along with, reserved and quiet, but enjoy socializing and meeting people. I enjoy cooking, am well-travelled, and have a wide circle of friends both within Australia and internationally.
Masters student at ANU (International Relations), looking for accommodation for at least 6 months but could be more as it depends on when my wife and son arrive in Canberra later in the year. I will then look to move out at that point. Happy to live with a wide range of people of all ages and backgrounds but I'll probably spend most of my time either in my room or out of the house at uni given my studies. I'll most likely come out of hibernation on the weekends and to try and get to the gym or somewhere with fresh air every couple of days. I understand there are hiking trails near ANU? I've been known to get excitable and shout (various things) at the TV when the All Blacks are playing. However, this year I will do my best to maintain decorum. The suburbs that I've listed are just a representative sample. I don't actually mind living in most places in Canberra as I understand it isn't all that far from anywhere else in Canberra.
Hi, I'm currently a student studying at the ANU and will mostly be out of the house/apartment in the day at uni. I'm pretty sociable and like a chat and movie here and then, but I'm also usually out of the house hanging with friends :) If you need space, I'm also pretty good at keeping to my self. I don't throw parties and do like to have the occasional friends over for a movie or games night, but even then, it's pretty rare (1-2 a week). I've lived in a share house for the last year and it's only due to lease expiring that I need a new place. I don't mind anywhere Northside Canberra as I have a car so I'm pretty flexible with location, but close to the city would be preferable. Hope to hear from you soon!
Love reading, animals, basketball, swimming, the odd social drink, movie nights and baking. Looking for easy going people to live with. Will be studying and working part time. $150 or a little bit more providing utilities are included.
Hey! I'm Lachie :) I'm an easy going, 22 year old uni student studying Environmental Science. I am just trying to live the most fulfilling life that I possibly can. I love staying fit and active by riding my bike, practicing yoga and getting over to the coast for an occasional surf.
Hi future housemates! I am Clare. About Your Place. It must be warm in Winter! (I really feel the cold!) Otherwise I am quite flexible re; house/unit/etc. I would prefer somewhere with nearby access to ACTION buses and within approx 30mins to Uni Canberra (although I am willing to consider most areas ie; Woden). Over the years I have shared with different genders, a variety of age groups, people from other countries and employed/students, so I know the etiquette of house-sharing arrangements with a diversity of people. I would enjoy the occasional ‘group’ meal, chatting with other tenants or being independent depending on the vibe in the property. What I Will Bring. I am seeking a reasonable sized room to place a full set of queen size bedroom furniture. I will also bring with me general furniture which I am happy for other housemates to use. (If you have a dry lock-up shed to place unwanted furniture, that would be ok too.) I also have a lot of great quality kitchen appliances as I like to cook and bake. About Me. I am a Transgender female and have a 'youthful' personality for my age! Although I like to socialise, I am generally quiet at home. I am a tidy person who cleans up after themselves and is respectful of other tenant's privacy. Sports-wise, I like Bikram Yoga, Badminton and Swimming. I'll be studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra next year. There is the possibility that I may work fulltime and study part-time if the perfect job falls my way over the next few months. Although I have lived in Canberra for 10 years, I am currently in Victoria until the end of January. So I would be ready/need to move into a new place from the first weekend of February. I should be back in Canberra from approx 28th Jan for inspections, etc. Get in touch if you think I am a good fit for your place.
I'm from Albury and just finished my gap year as a barista/waitress. I am moving to Canberra to study a Diploma of Screen and Media (specialist makeup) and will also be working part-time. I am a pretty easy going and bubbly person, I like to socialise and am keen to make new friends, as I know few people in Canberra. I will happily help around the house and contribute as need be. I love watching many TV shows and movies and will comfortably sit down for movie nights or binge watch shows but if theres a chance for a fun adventure of any sort, I won't hesitate to join.
Hi, my name's Liska! I'm 20 years old and studying Chinese, German, linguistics and translation at ANU. I've just come back from a year-long exchange at the National Taiwan University and am looking to make Canberra home again. I like to keep things tidy and never leave chores overnight. I listen to as many different kinds of music as possible, play video games, and write. I can be shy at first but having company and and a friendly environment is really important to me. (My move date is pretty flexible. I'm back in Australia permanently from the 19th Jan but would like to be moved in somewhere by the 8th or 9th)
I'm currently a nanny so I believe I have the ability to keep a house clean, as it's basically my current job! I'm friendly and easy going but I also like my personal space.

Hi all, I'm a teacher who's recently returned to post-grad study, and I will be moving to Canberra to make the most of the benefits of being on-campus. I'm very easy-going and happy to do my own thing but also don't mind a chat in the evenings. I've been living in sharehouses for the past 10 years in Sydney and am very adaptable, clean, tidy and considerate of others' personal space. I love to cook, grow veges, read and watch netflix. I also love riding my bike, bushwalking, sailing, making a fool of myself at beginner dance classes and generally getting out and about. I have lots of kitchen appliances, but not much furniture. Looking for an easy-going household with people who like their own space but are also happy to hang out every now and then.
Hi, we are both two 19 year old females from Sydney currently studying law at ANU! We both like to keep a clean environment and are up to socialise, but can also study quietly at the same time. We are respectful of other people's belongings and space and would also love to make new friends!

I'm pretty easygoing regarding bills and rent as long as it is suitable.

I love travelling and I am interested in exploring Canberra and the surrounding areas. Happy to live with pets. Move-in date is flexible as long at it's before 19 February.
Hi, I am Virendra, a Social work student at ACU Canberra. I am very social and fond of cooking and books. I'm a really friendly person who is clean and respectful of housemates. Send me a message if you think I might be a great fit for your sharehouse. Cheers,

Very clean and respectful of other people and their personal space. Ideally looking for somewhere close to the city but would be happy with anywhere northside. Ready to move in anytime in January.
I'm moving to Canberra from a rural town near Mudgee, NSW, in February to study a double degree at ANU. I'm mature, tidy, and relatively quiet, but also more than up for a chat or drinks with anyone sharing a house with me. Also, my partner is joining the Defence Force, but will possibly be staying with me when he is back from deployments or has time off (this wouldn't be often, and if he stayed for any extended period he would pay his share of the rent). I would prefer to live with other girls or couples, but I'm not overly fussed.
Hello, I am a recent graudate from ANU so my student accommodation is running out of contract and I am looking for a place to stay. I am originally from Pakistan but have been in Canberra for the past 2 years.
