Hi there, I'm Julia! Melbourne has been home for two years, and I think it is a wonderful city. Filled with creative souls. I'd like to live in or close to Thornbury and public transport that is safe to walk to and from at night. I have an Earth based spirituality and am accepting of alternative lifestyles. I am interested in fashion and antique suitcases. I am a freelance photographer, which means I spend a fair amount of time at home base. I am also an artist, a vegetarian, a great user of puns, a friend to animals (although I don't have any of my own) and a zine maker. I enjoy a nice chat over a glass of wine or some Netflix, but my hearing is in the very low range and I suffer from a migraine condition, so when my health is down I have quiet times to relax and recover. I respect personal space and believe balance is key. I'm a clean, tidy person and would like to live somewhere that has these standards in shared spaces. I would prefer female or non-binary housemates, to feel safe. I have a partner who does not live with me, but she would stay over sometimes. My move date is flexible by a fortnight, with the one I have provided being the earliest I could commit. :)
Hey, I my girlfriend (Carla) are looking to move into a share house! We would preferably like to be in the same house, doesn't matter if its in the same room or two different ones, yet depending on how it goes we might also open to getting separate places. We are looking in the areas of Fitzroy, Collingwood, and any adjacent suburbs. The length of stay does really depend, although we would like a long term, we kind of want to move out soon so will consider shorter stays too (but at least 3 months). Our budget is somewhere along 400pw in a couple room, or around 250pw single I am into photography and working full-time in Retail. I am outgoing, fun, and have a good sense of humour. I like meeting new interesting people and exploring new places, but I also enjoy a good Netflix binge. Carla is into drawing and studying graphic design at RMIT, while working part time in hospitality. Isabel is into photography and working full-time in Retail. She is Spanish but can speak fluently in english, also a fan of cooking. We are chill and easy going, dedicate most of our time to either Uni or work, enjoying any free time by chilling and exploring Melbourne. We are respectful of others privacy but would also like to hang out if the occasion comes. We've been living in share houses for the past 3 years, we are looking for like-minded people, so if we sound like your kind of people or If you have any further questions about myself or Isabel, just let me know!
Hi! My name is Sandra, I'm 25 years old and I will spend the next year in Australia. I have been living in some other places, I like meeting new people and enjoy the cultural diversity. In my free time I do yoga, enjoy outdoor activities, read, paint and I love travelling. I'm easy going and have shared flats for 6 years :)
Both super easy going. Tidy & friendly. Up for a chat but also very respectful of people's personal space. Enjoy the outdoors (running, biking etc), coffee and a good beer! From the UK on a WHV and looking to stay in Melbourne for 3-6 months, possibly longer.
I am an easy going, tidy person who pays bills on time which is important :P. I am currently studying at Monash doing my master and working at the same time which means i am not home most of the time, but when i am you are definitely going to see me. I am not much of a party person but don't mind having a beer or two on weekends. Singing and playing guitar are my hobbies so you are going to hear me singing in my room at times :P Besides that, i love learning about other cultures and would prefer living in a multicultural sort of place. I like socialising and all but being an introvert, there are times when i need some time alone to recharge. Moreover, i don't cook, actually i can't cook so i don't use kitchen much. Cheers.
Hey potential future housemates, I'm a 23 yr old professional originally from Sydney who has been living down in Melbourne for almost a year now. I moved down here to begin my career as a biologist. I'm a easy going person who enjoys spending time with mates, travelling, hitting the beach, trying new food joints, having the occasional beer, offsetting those beers and food by hitting the gym, binge watching tv series, and playing video games. I'm looking for a new place as my current lease will be up mid December. I am a reliable and share-house trained individual who isn't a neat freak but enjoys having a nice looking place that we can all enjoy together. Looking for fun easy going people who are keen to hang out on an afternoon/weekend or cook the occasional meal together, but also respect each other's privacy and space. Either a furnished or unfurnished room will suit. Ideally looking for something more longer term 9-12 months. I am fairly flexible with move in dates, but am looking to move into a new place by late November-early December. Send me a message through flatmates or send text, if you have something that would be a good match. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Jake :)
I’m at 27 year old events manager from Manchester, UK. Very laid back gal who likes to live in a comfortable clean and friendly environment. In my spare time I like to go to yoga, attend music gigs, eat yummy food and generally have a good time 😊
Hello, I just moved to Melbs from Sydney and I am after a place that feels like home rather than just a room. I am house trained so I know the deal. I am a 29 y/o easy going, dog-human friendly female. I am into the environment. Ideally I would love a built in wardrobe, other than that I am pretty flexible with dates and location if the right place. Shoot me a message if you have something for me. Cheers!
I’m a friendly, queer woman who is looking for a home rather than a house. I’m interested in living in a relaxed environment with folks who have great communication skills (open, direct and kind). I’m studying part time to become a naturopath and work as a social worker. I’m a fan of many things including being in nature, hanging out with friends and family, healthy living, conscious communication, sex/body positivity, spirituality, art/craft projects, and dance (5 rhythms/Mojo etc). I love to cook and I’m dairy free, gluten free and mostly vego (I eat fish occasionally when out). I like a balance between social time and alone time and would enjoy occasional meal sharing and hang out time. I’d love to help out in the garden (and grow a bunch of herbs if you don’t already have them). I know it might seem daggy but I’m neat and reliable and I’d like to be in a generally tidy home. I’m a non-smoker and an occasional/social drinker. I've been living in Brunswick East for the past year and sadly our lease is ending and our beloved home is being demolished! I love living on the north side and am looking for another share house whilst I finish my degree (at least another 2 years) and set up my dream of a country retreat.
Hi there. I'm Ric. I have recently moved back to Melbourne after spending a year and a bit working in beautiful Brisbane. Currently working full time in Heidelberg. Looking for ongoing accommodation for 12 mths or more. I paint film/tv sets for work, houses in btw jobs, and pictures for pleasure. Have spent the last 10-20yrs living around inner city suburbs eg. fitz, coll, abbots etc. Looking for something similar again. I'm single, I have a cat - Bippa. She's 4 yrs old and fully housetrained and very low maintenance. She is currently living with my sister and her family and loving it so she may not necessarily have to come with me. Bungalow, house share, flat share, 1 br flat- these are the things i'm looking for. Give me a call or msg if you like, i'd prefer to talk or call you instead.
Hey, my name is Ajay (30, born & raised in Melbourne w/ Indian background). Working full time in hospitality. Looking for a place in cbd or outer city (any side-N.E.W.S.) as I work in the city. I am very sociable but also know people need their privacy. I enjoy to the gym, cooking and enjoying outdoors activities. With work and hobbies, I won’t be home often unless I have a day off (rarely) but would make time to spend with my housos (dinner, drinks, grocery shopping, cleaning etc). I like a clean and tidy place (not a clean freak though). If you have any further questions, just ask. Also, have no problem going on the lease (would prefer it) but flexible considering circumstance. Thanks, Ajay.
Originally from the UK and have spent the last 3 years living and working in Austria. I've moved to Melbourne on a 4 year sponsored visa to start work in the Australian subsidary of my current company as a Project Manager. I'm fairly well-travelled and will be coming from shared accomodation (5 people), so I understand how important it is to be a clean and respectful housemate! An outgoing person and like to stay active whether it be in the gym, playing sports or out on a hike, etc. I'm also keen on my music and would love to meet people to head to some gigs with; officially a pubs-over-clubs kinda guy (these days!) and always keen to improve my cooking skills (obligatory glass of wine/cold beer during preparation, of course.) Weeknights are admittedly quite low-key between work and keeping active, but it would be great to meet sociable housemates keen to enjoy the occasional meal together etc. If you've any questions, please feel free to ask!
Mattias I’m 23, outgoing and happy. I love to socialize and talk about what life has to offer. My interests lie in music (I make EDM by myself and a bit of indie with Jonas), skateboarding and experiencing new things. I love food and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I’m very creative and easygoing. I love a night out as much as I like a chill night watching a movie or just socializing. Jonas I’m 26 years old. I’ve worked as a youth leader since I was 22. I love inspiring others. Me and Mattias met through skateboarding, so that’s one of my hobbies as well. I make music as well, playing the guitar and singing. I’m a bit of a magician with cards and I express myself through fashion. Coming here is one of the biggest steps I’ve taken in my life, and it encourages me to give my all to be able to make my full stay here in Australia. As of now we are looking for somewhere to stay before applying for jobs. We’ve only been here a couple of days but we do look forward to stay in Melbourne the coming year. We are structured and tidy. Love to laugh but knows when to get serious.
I am very friendly, calme and respectful. I like some quiet moments on my own but also very friendly, funny and cosy moments with other people.
Greetings potential housemates! I've been living in a wonderful sharehouse in Prahran for the last 3 years while I completed my Arts degree (I majored in sociology, so I'm always done for deep chats about humans/society in general!!). I'm starting a Masters of Social Work at Melbourne University next year, and I think a change of location will pair nicely with this new journey! Having lived in a sharehouse for the past 3 years, I'd like to think I'm fairly well-trained in terms of keeping my space tidy and doing my bit around the house! I'm always down for a chat, a Netflix binge (Brooklyn 99 and Stranger Things are my current go-tos), or some casual drinks! I'm a huge music fan, and Alex Turner is my personal hero. When I'm not studying or working, I can be found at the gym, boxing, listening to music, reading or writing. I'm keen to meet some new people and explore a new area of Melbourne, so don't hesitate to get in touch!
I'm a 27-year-old foodie from England. I moved to Australia nearly 3 years ago. I have permanent residency here. I work full time in South Melbourne. In my free time, I socialize with friends, I draw, I'm vegan so you'll probably find me veganising some dish in the kitchen. I enjoy keeping active I love checking out bars with friends, going for brunch. Did I mention I have a great (British) sense of humour? I am clean and considerate. I’m always happy to hang out over a beer and food during the week or over the weekend. But I also love quiet nights in with food and Netflix :D
Queer trans couple, two dogs (border collie + greyhound), one cat.
I am a very outgoing and adaptable person. I love meeting people from different places and sharing experiences. I just arrived to Australia from Spain with a work and holiday visa so I am looking for accommodation and a job and I am opened to anything :)
Hi there, my name is Grace, I'm a graphic designer working full time in publishing. In my spare time I am usually visiting art galleries, reading a book, catching up with friends, going away for the weekend or working on a multitude of side projects. I am looking for a new home around the inner north of Melbourne, with housemates who are clean, courteous, responsible but fun and would like a new friend. I like coming home and winding down over a glass of wine, and Im usually out and about on the weekends. It would be nice if you like a casual drink every now and again too. I love indoor plants! And coffee!
Hey there, I'm South African, 37 yo, been in Melbourne about a month now. I'll be here until the middle of next year at the very least, hopefully longer. I'm currently working as a bicycle tech while mulling over more career orientated work options: either a PhD or a position in an environmental consultancy role. About me: My background is in the natural sciences, working as an ecologist at the University of Cape Town. I've been on a sabbatical for the last year, fulfilling a dream of cycling up Africa. The second part of the dream was to live in a new city for a couple of years, so here I am! I'm excited to be here and looking for a place to settle so I can get properly stuck into a new life here. I'd consider myself easy going, uncomplicated, neat and tidy, and totally happy to pull my weight around the house. I wouldn't say I'm the life of the party, but I can wiggle my extremities if the mood strikes me. Honestly, I'm more comfortable at home with friends, good food and conversation...and maybe a board game, some friendly banter. I enjoy a drink and good conversation and I'm partial to a good book or series. Don't mind a bit of cooking either. I'm happiest outside though, doing something active. Specific outdoor interests include rock climbing, hiking, cycling, surfing, kayaking, camping etc. I'm keen to get involved in those activities, with others, as I settle into a Melbourne routine. Hope I get to meet you :) Sam
Hi, I'm Giuliana, looking for a longer-term place to call home in a sharehouse with another 2 or more people. About me: During the week I work 8.30-5, 4 days per week at a university library, and spend 2-3 nights a week at yoga. Aside from yoga, I love hiking, camping and nature connection, travel, cooking (and eating!), motorbike riding, spending quality time with friends and family, veggie and herb gardening; so would love a place with a decent sized backyard with a veggie garden, or the space for one as well as for composting; all the better if there are housemates who'd like to share in this as it's more fun that way, plus I have a lot more to learn! Who I am and what I’m seeking: I'm a thoughtful, open-minded, respectful, grounded, tidy, sustainability-focused person looking to share with other gentle, caring people with similar values; and amongst all of that sharing a healthy dose of humour is most welcome. I'm looking for a longer-term share house (which is why I’ve written so much!) so it's important to me to find a place with people where we can create a healthy household dynamic; which can only really come through clarity in communication. While this can be difficult at times and we’re all learning, it’s super important for me and the people I share with to be willing to try to communicate openly, gently and respectfully to the best of our abilities. I have a fulfilling social life, however I'd really like to live with others who are more than just people I live in the same house with; I'd like to share communal meals and chats regularly. However I also need alone time, and am respectful of other people’s need for that also. I'm currently used to preparing my own meals and composting, but am very open and welcoming to communal living and food sharing. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I rarely eat meat and I've happily lived with vegans and vegetarians before. About the house: In terms of the house itself, some things I’d really like (though not essential, unless there’s none of them) are: - Gas stove top (for cooking! Electric or induction are a bit limiting) - Undercover parking for my motorbike (I have a cover for it, but much easier to just park under something) - A backyard that gets some sunlight and has, or has space to grow herbs and veggies (even if it’s just concrete that you can put plant pots on) - An older house with character, with larger rooms and more natural light (I’m not a big fan of those townhouses going up all over the place) - I’m particularly interested in moving to Thornbury, Preston, Fairfield, Northcote, North Fitzroy (not necessarily in that order), but surrounding suburbs like Ivanhoe, Alphington, Brunswick East and Coburg may also be suitable. I have a mish-mash of furniture including a fridge (oldish), and a washing machine (newish). I'm willing to shed what's not needed though as most of it I've collected along the way from family and friends. I have some lovely indoor plants which I'd love to share with my new housemates as some of them are little big for the bedroom! I don’t have a particular date I need to be out of my current place by, but I’d ideally like to have at least 2-3 weeks notice so my existing housemate has a chance to find a new sharer also. Would love to hear from you if you think I'd suit your share home.
Keeping it short and simple: - I work full time as an electrical engineer - I've been dancing since I was 7. Specialising in rnb and the occasional MJ hip thrust - I love to cook. I love to meal prep and get people to love my food. You honestly have no option but to love my food. - I enjoy staying active; gym, hikes, long romantic walks on the way home intoxicated. - I like to keep my mess to a minimum. If you'd like to know more feel free to hit us up. Peace my peeps
Hello! I’m looking for a new place to call home! I’ve been living on the Sunshine Coast for the last two years and ready to move back to the city. I’ve lived in many share houses and would really love the next place to feel like a bit of a calm sanctuary with conscious, healthy housemates so not into the party house vibe. A bit about me - I teach yoga and have a dedicated daily meditation practice. I read a lot and like to think of myself as very open minded. I love live music, a night of dancing and summer festivals but not a big drinker. You would rarely find me in front of a TV but I do love good conversation with the people I live with, while also really appreciating my alone time for daily practices. I am super tidy and enjoy living in a clean environment. If you have a place and feel like we would connect, then let me know! 😊
Hi, my name is Marina. I'm currently doing my PhD in microbiology at Adelaide uni and will be moving to Melbourne in January 2019 to continue my studies at the University of Melbourne. I'm flexible, but prefer female housemates. *Please only message me if there are two or less housemates!* Some things about me: 1. I am at the lab at least 9-5 Mon-Fri, with some experiments/assignments keeping me there 8am-8pm. 2. I grew up in North Haven, Adelaide, but I have been living out of home since July this year. 3. I am quiet (I'm not the party type nor a confrontational person), tidy (I don't leave mess for other people to clean, and I like being organised with storage) and respectful of other people's space and belongings. 4. I'm happy to split/rotate chores, and I'm easy to get along with (despite some innate awkwardness). 5. I value honesty and transparency, and I like to keep detailed documentation of all transactions (PhD scholarships aren't very generous!). When I'm not studying, I'm playing Pokémon on the 2DS, browsing cat pictures/videos, or blogging :)
