I'm clean, tidy, considerate and generally quiet. Love having tea, coffee, beer or wine and having a chat. Unfortunately not a party person anymore, more of a fan of drinks and conversation. I work in full time, 8AM to 5PM with some occasional overtime. I'm a passionate Formula 1 fan and spend the occasional late Sunday night watching the race. I've been in Canberra for the last 15+ years. I'm looking for a medium to long term room so I can have some financial stability, preferably 6 months or longer. I'm moving house because my current housemate/landlord of 3+ years is moving to Melbourne, so I need to find a new place. While she's been an absolutely lovely housemate, she's very quiet, so I'd ideally like a place where conversations are more the norm than the exception. I've listed suburbs in the city because I'd like to be able to walk to work, but I'm happy to look further abroad if there's a good bus service available. I've got a car but prefer to bus to work so I've got a good reason to leave on time.
Hi All. I am a tech-enthusiastic, easy-going guy from Tasmania. I'm currently studying video game design, programming and small business management, and am very close to owning my own small studio in video game development. In my free time, I normally play video games, go to the cinema, or develop video games (It's my job and my passion). I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, independent, tidy, organised, always pay on time, and enjoy genuine conversations. I'm planning to study in Watson ACT during 2018, and therefore i am looking for accommodation nearby for 1 year, starting around late January. I'd also be up for "teaming up" for accommodation. Hope to hear from prospective flatmates. :)
Introverted, I like to keep quiet, I don't like to cook so all I need is a microwave and some freezer space. I use up very little fridge space and I've been previously living in a share house for more than 2 years and have lived with 5 different house mates in the past, all of which being originally strangers.
I'm originally from central NSW, moved to Wollongong for uni and then came to Canberra in 2015 for a job in the public sector. I'm a seasoned veteran of the sharehouse, I'm super tidy and respectful of others' spaces. I haven't had any conflicts with my previous housemates to date and while I'm probably a bit more inclined to do my own thing than most I'm by no means a social hermit. I'm happy to accommodate your friends if the sentiment can be returned. I love traveling (actually I'm returning from a trip to the USA at the moment, hence looking for a place), also enjoy cycling and motorcycling, reading, Netflix binges, craft beer appreciation sessions and stimulating conversations about history, politics, society or pretty much anything if you're knowledgeable and passionate about it. If you think you could live with me or you have any other questions, please don't be shy! Cheers
Young professional moving to Canberra to work on the Light Rail. Looking for house mates that want a clean, quiet place during the week. Looking for friendly people who dont mind a beer and a chat but also respect each others privacy. Will be down the snow most weekends when possible
Hi there, names Erin :) I'm a second year uni student, work part time. Super easy going person, happy to share bathrooms and coordinate dinners or not depending on what you're up for. I would prefer a room mate that enjoys hanging out on occasion, whether that be staying in and having a Netflix binge or heading out for the night. I'm definitely a social person but also really value my alone time. Looking for a place preferably shared with young females but I'm pretty open to whatever pops up in a good location for me :)
i am a happy type of person, neat and tidy to live with and no issue about money or paying bills.I just came from Sydney. Im also easy to be with and can adjust to the surroundings. Also having my own privacy for me is very important. Im working as a full time chef in Lolo and Lola Filipino Restaurant in Watson Shop. Im 34 years old. I've been living in Sydney for 4 yrs, just moved here last monday and staying in a B&B at the moment for a week.. I have a car so yes i need a parking for the night coz i usually at work during day time starts at 830am finished about 11pm and Im usually out during my days off for my casual job. i'm a smoker but i smoke outside of the house and i dont have pets. i have a partner but she's in overseas. she sometimes comes here for a vacation 3 days to a week at the most.. Im looking for atleast 4 months to one year stay in.
Hi there! I'm an active young woman who works for Cisco out at Brindabella Park. I grew up here, so plenty of local knowledge. I don't have pets just YET, but I'm planning on rescuing a doggo or two, because I love dogs and also they're the key to happiness. This means that, if possible, I'd love a place with a yard. It doesn't have to be massive, as I'm in the habit of walking any dogs I have twice a day, every day. I regularly go to the gym - Eighty8 near my work, Anytime Fitness, and BlocHaus climbing gym - so I'm out of the house until quite late on weekdays. On weekends, I like relaxing around the house, moaning about being tired, then finally dragging myself off my butt to buy expensive brunch like the usual entitled millennial (but I hate avocado - ask me why I haven't bought a house yet!) and hang out with my mates. I am not at all a morning person; in fact I hate them. And I'm also not really a party person unless someone else does all the work and drags me out the door. I'm really not suited to a student household or a house with more than two other people - I've done my time in massive sharehouses, and I'm not about that life anymore. I do like cooking, but I'm pretty boring, because I usually bulk cook everything once a week and then eat frozen leftovers. Sometimes I feel inspired and make cakes/biscuits/assorted baked goods which I expect to share, because please take all those sweet things away from me. I definitely have too many clothes, so expect to triple your wardrobe if you're a size 8/shoe size 7, because I share. If you're a bloke, you can share too, but don't stretch out anything expensive! I enjoy video games, and I have a nice PC and an Xbox 360 (yes, I refuse to update, that workhorse is still going strong). I also read a lot! In summary: - One or two other people to share; - Small yard for a doggy; - Not a party animal; - Tragically single, so no bf/gf to awkwardly meet, but occasional sobbing; - Sometimes sing in the shower, but am actually decent; - Unfortunately shed long blonde hair everywhere; - Don't smoke, do drink infrequently; - Relaxed, full time employed, also I smell nice.
I am a 31yo male Engineer on the Canberra Light Rail. I try to stay fit and exercise (or just not get too fat) , but I do enjoy eating like a king on the weekends. a bit about me, I enjoy going to the gym, salsa dancing, my beloved Nissan weekend car, and hopefully get into some pilates for my ridiculously poor flexibility! On the weekends i dont mind a few frothies and a good burger with some banter. i enjoy going out and having a laugh , and i equally dont mind weekends chilling at home on the couch with a movie. As for house arrangements - I am very easy going and tidy, clean up after myself and easy to get along with. Im flexible with whoever I live with. Its not my first time doing the house share, so I know that everyone is different and theres always a solution so that everyone is happy. Wouldn't mind someone whos down for a few drinks or sharing a meal and some banter on the weekends! Cheers! Claudio
British guy moving to Canberra from London to take up a postdoc at ANU. I'm 30 years old, and I'm a tidy, considerate and sociable housemate. Interests and activities include cycling, hiking, and making/playing music. ANU can put me up in holding accommodation when I arrive on October 8, but I'd like to get on my own two feet as quickly as possible so I'm looking for a place that's available any time between then and Christmas. Up either for joining an existing houseshare or getting one going if there's anyone in a similar situation!
We are a couple relocating for work and sport. Brittany is an Australian representative athlete with full time training commitments and James is a sport professional working in the sport industry. We are both very friendly people, easy to get along with and no fuss. We generally don't spend much time at home as we are always out either training and working.
We have just come back from a big overseas trip and are looking for a place close to the city. We both work full time. From Canberra, we both do crossfit but love almost any style of exercise training. Love camping, hiking, sunshine and being outdoors. Love a chat and sharing meals and a few drinks now and then but also respectful of personal space and downtime.
Hi, I'm a student teacher finishing my masters. I'm relaxed and friendly :) I have a small white spoodle (spaniel x poodle) named Digby. He's fully house-trained, pretty quiet and loves people. Ideally I'd like to find a place with a yard for him to run around in. I'm a swing dancer and spend three nights a week dancing. I'm also an artist and spend a lot of time drawing and painting.
I'm moving to Canberra to begin a PhD at ANU. I lived in Canberra for four years during my undergrad but have been overseas for the last six months. About me: I study physics, I'm from NZ but moved to Australia almost ten years ago, I run competitively (and will often be out running in the evenings), love getting outdoors/hiking, and am keen to try growing a few veggies.
I have lived, worked and studied in more than 4 continents. Loved exploring every inch of the culture and history's of the countries I was residing in. Now working in a field that combines my passions and skills into one and I can make a significant difference in society. In my spare time, I am often hiking, riding my mountain bike, surfing or playing a round of golf. I like to meet new people and hear their unique adventures via a well-prepared curry. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Jack
I have just returned to Canberra after living and travelling through Europe for the last 6 months. I have a small fitness business that keeps me active and looking for a place close to the city as all of my sessions are run around the lake
I'm a proudly omnivorous, non-smoking, communications professional of the straight 40+ male variety who is sans pet. Working as a contractor in Tuggeranong and eager to find a room in a location where the travel time is less of an ordeal. Those hours I'm at home and awake (which aren't many at the moment) will most likely be devoted to pursuing starving literary pursuits (because writing and journalism is SUCH a boom industry right now) but I usually write elsewhere. Basically, an arty-farty wanker with a pesky social conscience I have a passing interest in most sports, but do not have the passion for them I did in the past. Very happy to let housemates keep to their own devices. Just looking for a place that's relatively tidy and relatively quiet.
Hi :) I'm 25 and moving to Canberra for the first time on a temp contract on the 6th of August and need all the help I can get. I am looking for a short term to start off with and if I get extended, hopefully, longer term rental. As I don't know my way around yet, I am looking for something very close to work - Acton, Reid, Braddon and Turner would be ideal. However you have an apartment/house that is close to busses, and a short bus ride away, I'm definitely interested. Thanking you all in advance if you have read this and if you can help!! Lana
Hello! My name is Amy and I am looking for a place in Canberra. I work full time at a beautiful cafe in Watson. I do come with two amazing indoor/outdoor cats that are really low maintenance. I am looking to move fairly soon.
