Hi, I'm a 21 year old female studying first year engineering at ANU. I'm moving to Canberra from Far North Queensland. I'm an easygoing, friendly and tidy person. I love reading, the outdoors, animals, and nice cups of tea. I'm looking for a private room to rent in North Canberra for under $300 a week (a stretch I know), I'm flexible on sharing bathrooms and require parking (on-street is fine). I would ideally like to be within riding distance of ANU. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
I'm a recent graduate from ANU in Law and Commerce. I work full-time as an Assistant Brewer for Capital Brewing Co. In my free time I like to play soccer as well as catch up with friends over a coffee or beer! I'm looking for a place with friendly people who like hanging out together. Given my full-time work, I'd prefer a household that isn't too noisy late at night :)
(Moving date is flexible) Hi! I'm Liska, I'm a tidy Honours student studying Chinese translation at ANU. I'm looking for a relaxed, friendly household in the inner north. I'm language and history-obsessed, love all pets, consume music voraciously, sew patches, play video games and make really good margaritas. Starting to get into gardening. I also write fiction and build fantasy worlds for fun and pay. Would be open to cooking together! (although I'm vegetarian) Happy to work within organised cleaning/chore rosters etc I head up to Newcastle sometimes to visit my family and girlfriend. She also likes to visit me too now and then so I'm looking for somewhere where she'd be welcome to stay in my room. Let me know if your place sounds like a match!
Hi my name is Alex! I am 23 years old, from Sydney, and have lived in Canberra for 2 years. I previously lived in Dublin for three years. I work four days a week as an administrator at ANU, and am doing a full time PhD at the ANU School of Public Policy. My housemate and his girlfriend are moving away in early March so I am looking for somewhere new! I have lived in three share houses in the past and have always had a great time. I love cats and dogs and am a clean and relaxed housemate. Social or quiet housemates would be ideal for me! On weekends I like to trip around NSW (and know all the best places to go :P) or have to study at the National Archives.
Hi, my name's Tamim. I'm 22 from Sydney and I'm moving to Canberra for a full time work. I'm a clean and organised person who likes to live a healthy lifestyle. I'm looking for a room (preferably furnished) near the CBD for around 150-200 per week. In my spare time I like to talk to people over a couple of drinks and watch/play sports especially cricket. I'm looking for people who are also working, are clean, easygoing and would be open to grabbing a drink or some food every now and then :)
I'm a design student at ANU. I like going for walks, making stuff and am always up for a chat. I'm looking for somewhere inhabited by real people within 30min of ANU. I also miss my garden when I'm in Canberra, so trees are a must.
Hello - My name is chris. I’m 38 - single - gay and very connected to the community back in Melb. A journalist by trade by currently in the process of moving to Canberra to work for a pretty exciting start up. I’m quiet, will travel for work at least once a week and work a lot so won’t be in ontop if anyone. Getting into the gym a bit and pretty social guy. Yet also really respectful of space and boundaries. Let me know if you have any questions. Flexible with where I live as have a car just out the suburbs that I know down!
Hello I'm Jem! I'm 23 currently trying to make a move away from my hometown and begin a body piercing career. I'm quiet, honest, easy to talk to and very respectful. I also absolutely love meeting new people! I have full time work where I am now and have located many suitable jobs in the Canberra area! I have a friendly calm 6 y.o cat who does his own thing, has never attacked scratched or bitten anyone ever, however he does not get along with other animals. I know how to take care of myself and how to take care of a home, I have lived by myself for a year and out of home since I was 17, I am very clean and tidy and always willing to chip in with anything that needs to be done. I enjoy creative things, I love gardening reading writing and drawing but also love to binge watch stan and Netflix or weird documentaries with a cheeky glass of wine. I like cooking I don't know if I would call myself a good cook but I do make a killer potato bake I promise you that! I will very rarely have a cigarette maybe once a week but never in my life have i smoked inside a house and I never will, I'm on my way to completely stopping. I don't party I just want a nice place to call my own so i can work hard. I have all my own furniture and appliances so unfurnished is fine or I'm happy to bring along anything that might be needed. Due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances I am now unable to move from my hometown until mid-late Feb.
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time, as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand so that that neither of us have to go in blind.
Hey, I'm Kat :) I'm 33 and am relocating to Canberra from Brisbane for work in early to mid-February so am looking for a room (preferably with own bathroom and undercover/off street parking) within fairly easy walking or riding distance to the city. Good public transport nearby would be a plus, too. I’ve been told the inner north or around Kingston would be a good fit. I’ll be arriving in Canberra the weekend of Feb 9th, and looking to find somewhere within the following couple of weeks. I don't have a have a lot of stuff (mostly just bedroom things), so if you're pretty well set up and just have an unfurnished bedroom, then that would be ideal! I'd prefer to share with just one or two others and I'm not too fussed about your age or gender, but I'm keen for a quiet and relaxed home life. I think I'm a pretty decent housemate - I won't use up all the hot water, am energy-conscious, will drive you to/collect you from the airport, and I like things clean and tidy (doing other people’s dishes is my love language). I've never paid a bill late in my life, and will treat your space and things with respect. I’m a pretty early riser and do the normal work and gym thing during the week. I enjoy the outdoors, and will be looking to get involved with some kind of social sport (currently playing mixed touch, fairly poorly but with great enthusiasm, in Brissie). Personality-wise, I am an introvert and do need space and quiet to recharge. This doesn't mean I'm a room hermit, but rather that I am a pro at companionable silence and would prefer to have our home be a sanctuary, with most socialising happening elsewhere. That said, I am friendly, and more than happy to lend an ear if you want to unload about something or just crave a chat, and I'd like it if we did stuff together sometimes (hit the movies, have a drink, watch TV, go on a hike, whatever). Basically, I think it’s important we like one another! I'm left-leaning, open-minded and non-judgemental, and I come equipped with a sarcastic sense of humour. I'm interested in science (I have a degree in Geology), and being annoyed about politics and the state of the environment/humanity in general but also not doing a lot about it. I also enjoy art (though I know nothing about it), am getting back into reading (after having the love of it bludgeoned out of me by the aforementioned degree), adore people watching, philosophical thought experiments (okay, probs only one of these, but still), music, and keeping fit. If I sound like I might be your kind of people, hit me up and let's see if we mesh :)
I'm a friendly, responsible and clean person with a sense of humour. I study a landscaping apprenticeship at CIT (but currently still looking for an employer), and I enjoy photography, gaming, and the outdoors. I like a tidy and clean room and try to keep my surroundings that way. Looking for long-term rental accommodation in a share house or separate flat.
Ex-Sunshine State in town 1 month for work. I'm a big gamer, foodie and muso when time allows. Fun fact about me: I've recently spent 6 month abroad in Detroit flat-mating with a Frenchman who passed on a glorious French Onion Soup recipe... Whether your house is quiet/social, filled with pets or social butterflies - I'm flexible.
Hi, I’m Zoe. I’m a quiet, nice country girl starting a diploma of screen and media in early Feb at CMA training. I’m tidy, respectful and know how to live independently as I went to a country boarding school for six years. I like a good scotch on nights out, I love movies and playing/watching sport. Rent is guaranteed as my parents are paying for it. Looking forward to starting my life in Canberra and making close friendships with my new flat mates.
I'm going to be studying at AIE in Watson. I mostly play computer games in my spare time. I've been living in Merimbula since my parents moved there in 2012. I need a place relatively quiet place so I can work on my course.
My name is Sarah, Im 20 years old and currently living in the inner north. Looking for a room to rent with housemates who are easy going, not party animals however are up for a drink every now and then. I work two jobs are Primary schools both in the inner north as a Learning Support Assistant. Would love to be able to stay close to work. I do free lance graphic deisgn on the side and always love a chance to be creative and decorate. I spend a lot of time outside on walks and love having dinner nights with close friends. Im a super tidy and organise person and will respect others space and privacy.
Currently seeking accommodation in and around my work in Lyneham... or anywhere really. I am originally from Sydney so the novelty of being able to get anywhere in Canberra in about 30 minutes hasn’t worn off yet. I work full time usually 6 or 7 days a week but with early starts so would prefer a quiet house where people weren’t coming and going all the time. Really like animals and finished studying Vet Nursing last year. I like to think I’m very tidy and clean up after myself. I spend what little free time I have during the week at the gym or on my laptop. I haven’t really had the opportunity to meet many people here yet so whilst I am pretty quiet mostly it would be nice to find a place with people I could hang out and have a few drinks with every now and then.
2 adventurous people moving to the ACT area in January 2019. Both full time work, very friendly, clean and easy going. Looking somewhere around Civic, Inner North, Belconnen, Deakin, Red Hill plus others Fit and healthy, we both like to cook delicious food, chill out over some wine and being outside. Well travelled, we are settling down in the ACT, looking for friendly like minded people who are relaxed and are hoping to share a house with us. More than happy to have quiet house hold, watch a few movies, play board games but also keen to go out for a meal or a drink from time to time. Both experienced Skydivers so will disappear some weekends to go jumping. Cal: Following a near decade in Defence I have moved into an APS job starting in the coming weeks. I am a fanatic cook and love unwinding by creating a delicious meal at the end of the day. Keeping fit and love the snow! Trudy: has accepted a job teaching senior science at Radford college to start late January. She loves keeping fit, hiking, taking out the dogs and is an avid gardener who just loves the outdoors. TWO DOGS: Dusty: a 5 year border collie who is deemed the smartest dog in the world. Unlike most border collies he is more relaxed and prefers to enjoy sleeping in his beanbag than running around. He is quiet, extremely friendly and very happy. Korra: She is an adorable sweet heart smaller border collie X, who loves to go for walks and is quiet and chilled out. Luckily she has seemed to take after her bigger brother and enjoys stretching out on her bed being content with herself. If we sound like good housemates then hit us up! Keen to share a place or team up
We are 2 friends looking for 1-2 housemates to team up and rent a 4-5 bedroom house in a reasonably priced and located suburb in Canberra. Looking mostly inner North but not particularly attached. About us: Lily is a returning public servant and George is just starting. We are both situated in Melbourne currently but will be moving to Canberra mid-late February. George is available to inspect places from the 10th of Feb. We are both Engineers with years of experience share housing. Lily enjoys cooking (and eating), making things and has a cat (who gets along with dogs). George enjoys eating (and cooking), designing and building things, working out and exploring. Neither of us takes ourselves seriously and are always down for a laugh. About you: You are looking to team up and help in the house search and be on the lease. You are easy going and respectful, looking for a social household with occasional shared meals and adventures. Please message us on flatmates if you are interested 😊
Moving to Canberra in Feb 2019 to take up a new job in Government. Will be returning to Sydney each weekend, so looking for somewhere comfortable and convenient for Monday to Friday. Easygoing, self sufficient, neat and friendly.
