$250/week•41 year old non-binary
Hello. I am moving to Melbourne from the US (Kentucky/Tennessee specifically) on September 21st. I am looking for a room to rent for when I get there while looking for my own place. As I understand it apartment hunting can take a while. If we mesh well I wouldn't be opposed to a longer term flatmate situation.
I do need a desk/chair, bed, dresser, clothes storage (so something furnished).
I don't have a car yet but I will likely get one eventually. If long term staying is in the cards I would need a parking space.
I will bring savings to last me a few months until i get my degrees transferred the AU equivalence, getting the paperwork done to work in Australia (that should be done before I get there), getting my driver's license there, etc.
Personality wise I'm pretty open, observant, (how well do Aussies handle puns?), I keep my things to myself, I have a pretty different accent since I'm from the city (they talk faster in the cities in the US) but in the south, and I will likely have a ton of questions.
I am also a trans woman (pre op) so I present feminine. In the US we're quite rare like (0.5% of the population) in Australia it is like 0.9% as I under stand it. I'm open to answering questions and whatnot.
Employment wise I have an IT/Math Teaching/Engineering (process and field service) background. So engineering is what I'll be after.
Contact wise, I don't have an Austrailian phone number yet I'll add my current one for whatsapp purposes but please don't call or text it (it's expensive), I'm at the airport now and can't find a picture of myself recently.
