    Katie

    $350/week35 year old woman

Hi! My name is Katie, and I'm a 35-year-old woman looking for a peaceful and friendly sharehouse or a person to team up with. I work full-time office hours in the CBD as a public servant. I am kind, friendly and love a chat - but I'm also fairly introverted, and I need time to myself to recharge. My ideal housemates would be queer-friendly women or non-binary identifying people who enjoy sharing a conversation or meal but also have their own stuff going on and are happy for me to have time and space to myself. I am very tidy, and it's important to me to live in a tidyish, cleanish space. I also definitely fall on the grandma end of the spectrum, so a party house would not work for me! In my spare time, I like to read, write creatively, go to the gym, walk in nature, catch up with friends and family, zoom my German language partner in Berlin and practise my beginner acoustic guitar skills (at civilised hours only, I promise!). I have lived by myself for the last five years, but before that I lived in sharehouses for four to five years, so I know how important it is to communicate openly and respectfully. I also prefer to work out a cleaning schedule / clear expectations around domestic responsibilities together so that there are no simmering resentments! No drugs, please. In short, living alone has been great in many ways, but I'm really ready for some human connection. I'd love to have a chat and see if we hit it off as potential housemates :)

    Kim

    $325/week34 year old non-binary

[I'm flexible on move in date and length of stay - I'm not flexible on location] Hi! I'm Kim, a 34-year-old queer Irishman (with PR) who has been living in Melbourne for about 6 years. I have worked as a public servant in the VPS for many years, most recently as a Senior Policy Advisor in the reform space at the Department of Education. I work 9-5 and I'm a bit of an early bird, so I wake before 7am (though I keep very quiet) and am usually in bed by 10pm. I'm a friendly and conscientious person who always tries to be mindful of others. Respect is extremely important to me, which includes not just keeping communal areas clean but also being mindful of noise for both flatmates and neighbours. I'm in the process of getting out of a damaging 6-yr marriage, so I'm keen to find a new place as soon as possible, for the sake of my own well-being. Apologies if this is a bit of an overshare, but I'm a bit believer in openness and transparency. I used to be a social butterfly (before the last few years) so I do love the company of people and would love to have a housemate that enjoys casual catch ups on our respective days and occasionally watching shows or playing boardgames together (though it's not a dealbreaker for me if you're keen on this). Otherwise, I'm likely to be either in my room reading or writing, or out meeting friends or taking a dance class. I am the co-parent of a beautiful 2.5-year-old blue staffy named Mac, who would ideally be able to stay with us part-time (as he will predominantly stay with my ex-husband). Mac is very well trained (including crate trained) and doesn't chew on furniture or anything like that. He was very well socialised as a puppy, so he is super friendly with both humans and other dogs. I have some bedroom furniture (bed, desk, etc) so I can make furnished or unfurnished rooms work. Please feel free to ask me anything you want to know!
