$300/week•27 year old man
Hi! I'm Darcy, a 27 year old PhD student at the University of Adelaide. I have just returned from living overseas for 6 months. I'm currently living with my parents and I'm looking for a room in a sharehouse in Adelaide.
I have a pretty regular schedule throughout the week, preferring to rise early and spending usually 9-5 at the uni. I like to be active, I play football competitively, run and play disc golf. I generally like to cook for myself. I like to be social, seeing friends on the weekends and often enjoying the live music scene in Adelaide. Gaming is my other main hobby.
I've been living in sharehouses for almost the past 5 years, including 2 in Adelaide (Prospect and Norwood) since 2020, and for the past 6 months in New Haven, CT in the US. Each lease was without issue and I left on my accord.
It's important to know that I have a cat, a 1.5 year old boy named Martin who I will be bringing with me. He has a lot of energy and is a bit of a rascal but is a softie at heart. He's an indoor cat, and I would not expect any responsibility from my housemate(s) in looking after him other than making sure he stays inside, and potentially on occasion feeding him if I am away for the night. In addition to my cat, I have many houseplants, but some or all of these can stay at my parents house if it's not feasible to have them in the house.
My income is through my PhD scholarship, and $200-$250 per week is my preferred budget, with $300 being the absolute maximum. I'm looking for somewhere within a 30 minute public transport commute from the city, with Southern and Eastern suburbs preferred but not necessary.
