Hi potential flatmates of Melbourne...
Me (Emma, 33,) and my Fiancé Nick (32) are currently on the hunt for some accommodation in Melbourne. Preferably south side of the city (but very open to north side for the right place and the right people). I work in the luxury retail management and Nick is a Barber.
We previously spent 2 years living in Prahran, Melbourne, from 2018-2020. However, we unfortunately got stuck back in the UK as the Covid-19 border lockdowns struck, and subsequently we lost our visa when the shop that Nick was sponsored with shut down and ceased trading. Our visa ended very abruptly, as did our dreams of settling in Australia.
We then spent the next 4 years living and working in the UK (and also did some travelling across the world at the same time) before in 2024 moving to NZ for 1 year to travel and work through Australia's beautiful neighbour. We bought a campervan, travelled all the way through until winter, and then spent 5 months in Christchurch to make winter slightly more comfortable. Once the summer started to rear herself again, we moved up onto the North Island to complete our travels.
We are currently in Vietnam, enjoying the last week of a 6 month trip through SE Asia... but we land back in Melbourne on 22nd May after managing to secure a year long visa to reignite the dream that ended in 2020.
We are both clean, polite and respectful people. We have been together for over 13 years and engaged for the last 2 years. Due to us always being on our travels during the last 10 years, we have actually always lived with other people, whether in shared houses or flats. So we are both completely used to sharing space and respecting others that we live with. We have lived in shared accommodation in Melbourne, Sydney, Christchurch NZ, and also of course back in the UK.
We are both lovers of all animals! The last place we lived, in Christchurch NZ, was with 2 humans and 3 rescue greyhound dogs, who we miss so much! Whilst back in the UK for the last 4 years before our most recent travels, we also fostered a 3 legged cat, named Molly. We've missed her a lot as well since we left to travel, so any pets you might have are a huge bonus for us.
Nick loves cooking and I don’t, which works perfectly for me... instead i take on the role of the cleaner which I much prefer! Nick is a very keen runner and since being in SE Asia, I have started getting into yoga a lot more. We both love to keep fit and eat good, healthy food.
We are in our early thirties and are not interested in late nights or crazy parties but do like to have nice dinners out, go to music concerts, watch sports and socialise with friends.
