About me

Hello! I'm Liam. I am a musician at heart and by day, studying classical performance on low brass at the Queensland Conservatorium. I also work casually as a barista in Paddington with hours changing depending on my activity each week. My day-to-day activity will have me out of the house most hours, especially if there are places to enjoy nearby like a park or regular cafe. As well as playing my instruments and making coffee, I also really enjoy my home calisthenics workouts, going on a bush walk/exploration every now and then, and reading a book or watching a movie with a good story (if I can convince myself that my study can be done later). If my friends and I aren't making music together, we'll probably be out on a day trip to the beach or the mountains somewhere. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast where my family still live so it's a great reset to drive there every few months. Aaand I also love to cook! I try to keep my meal preparation simple and tight for busy weeks but get very excited when I can make something very yummy.

At home in a sharehouse, I get by best with a truly homely environment, one where everyone has their own independence and will keep the house running of their own but where everyone will always look out for one another. Because I am involved in music and loud sound all the time, I often need some peace at home to help me unwind but I also enjoy chats, finding out what other people have been up to, and hanging out if we find something fun to do together. Rest assured, I will never do my regular instrumental practice at home. I don't think it's fair to subject others to loud sounds in their own sanctuary. On that, I have boundaries for various reasonable things and I'm sure you do, too, so I'm comfortable talking about them, how they make us feel, and how we can give respect to each other.

I have all of the furniture I need for a bedroom and a tiny rectangle breakfast table that I'm convinced could fit anywhere but I don't have to take that with me, I could leave it with my house. I do have an upright piano, however, and will need to be able to get it into wherever I move. It would be nice for it to come into my bedroom. I most often catch public transport but I have a car and it's a shitbox so I'm not concerned about leaving it outside, even on a side street.

That is all, I think.
