Liam

Hello! My name is Liam. I'm looking for my next mid- to long-term place to live now that my time in my existing sharehouse has come to an end.

I am a musician at heart and by day, studying classical performance on low brass at the Queensland Conservatorium. My bread is making coffee in Paddington with hours changing depending on my other activity each week. Day-to-day activity will have me out of the house most hours, especially at parks or a regular cafe. As well as making music and coffee, I also really enjoy my home calisthenics workouts, bush walk/exploring every now and then, and engaging with a book or movie with a good story. If my friends and I aren't making music together, we're probably on a day trip to the beach or the mountains. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast where my family still live so it's a great reset to drive there every little while. Meal preparation is another of my earned skills.

At home in a sharehouse, I get by best in a homely environment, one where everyone will keep the house running of their own but where we'll always look out for one another. Because I am involved in music and loud sound all the time, I often need some peace and independence at home to help me unwind but I also enjoy chats, finding out what other people have been up to, and hanging out if we find something fun to do together. I will never do my regular instrumental practice at home. I don't think it's fair to subject others to loud sounds in their own sanctuary. I'm comfortable talking about boundaries, how they make us feel, and how we can give respect to each other. I've been in Brisbane sharehousing for nearly six years.

I have furniture for my bedroom and a tiny rectangle breakfast table that will fit anywhere but I don't have to take that with me. I do have an upright piano, however, and will need to be able to get it into wherever I move. It would be nice for it to come into my bedroom. I most often catch public transport but I have a car and it's a shitbox so I'm not concerned about leaving it outside.
