Hi, I'm a student at RMIT (city campus) looking for long term accommodation. I don't have a car so I do need a direct tram or train line to the city within a 5-10 minute walk. My budget is also exclusive of bills.
Other requirements I need are a dishwasher, FTTP NBN or Opticomm equivalent and a house that can accept an indoor cat who I plan on keeping as an indoor cat. I'm okay with sharing a house with men, but I'm not comfortable being the only woman or female presenting person in the house.
For a bit about me, I've been in Melbourne for almost 3 and a half years and have been living alone so I have plenty of furniture for any share houses with a flatmate moving out and taking things like their TV, couch, vacuum, dining table, etc. with them. My cat Ellie is also a little love bug and once she's adjusted to her new surroundings, she'll likely start sussing out everyone else in the house and demanding attention from everyone. My two rules are not to feed her human food and not let her outside. She's been an indoor cat since she was a kitten and has absolutely no survival skills. I'd be devastated if she got out and something happened to her.
In my spare time I enjoy gaming alone, with friends over discord or on rare occasions, hosting jackbox nights with my friends. I also enjoy 3D printing (when I feel like maintaining the printers), crochet and playing instruments. Thankfully the piano is electric so nobody has to hear me practicing. For any nerdy households, I have all my childhood games and consoles and while I don't play D&D/Pathfinder anymore, I do have a resin 3D printer I use for printing heroforge minis and do still enjoy painting sessions.
I am also hoping to get back into streaming which is why I need the internet mentioned above (and I've been spoiled with fast game downloads since the fiber upgrade in September). I'm happy to pay extra for internet if I need to increase the speed.
Lastly, I'm neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ friendly and fairly introverted so while I do enjoy a good ramble session, games night, etc., I do also enjoy my own company and will be accommodating of any "odd quirks" any neurodivergent housemates might have (sorry, I can't think of a better descriptor at the moment). I also sometimes vape cannabis for chronic pain, however I won't use it in the house.
