Ellie, Part - time animal attendant, running my own pet - sitting business on the side and studying Veterinary Science at UQ. I have two calm, placid and well - trained pets, a female black lab and a male Maine Coon kitten.
Katara ( my lab ).
Katara is a 2yo black Labrador retriever, she is placid, quiet, and very sweet in temperament, loves people and gets along well with other animals, cats and dogs. My routine with her is I walk her once daily, she is an inside/outside dog, outside during the day and inside with me when I'm home, I'm strict with her in that she is not allowed on furniture or beds, she sleeps in my room with me at night, crate- trained, house - trained, toilet - trained, doesn't bark except to warn of people passing by the house, otherwise she is good outside on her own when I'm out. I'm looking for a place where she can be an inside/outside dog as that is what she is used to.
My Maine coon, Mordred is an absolute sweetie! He is very affectionate and playful, good with dogs as long as they're calm and friendly and don't chase him, good with other cats, I allow him about 30 - 45 minutes *supervised play outside when I can, but otherwise he is an inside cat. Kitty litter trained which I make sure to keep on top of and clean out regularly, he loves his food too! Basically he likes a balance of play and cuddles/pats.
And I'm Ellie, basically I'm just another kiwi who grew up in Brisbane, I'm looking for a place to move preferably September but maybe sooner because my housemate's dog keeps attacking my cat. I'm pretty easy - going, laidback and quiet, I *am an introvert so I do tend to keep to myself but I am keen to meet new people, keen to live with friendly people and don't mind a chat/drink occasionally. I enjoy playing music, reading, singing and anime. I don't mind getting to know my housemate/s and hanging out, but I do enjoy my own time as well - also I'm a bit of a quirky chik'n, autistic, ADHD, also have a diagnosis of OCD and Dyspraxia and I do like to keep a clean space and will appreciate living with like - minded people.
I'm vegetarian but open to living with omnivores, I grew up in a meat - eating family so it is no bother to me, I like a clean, tidy environment, I don't function well in clutter and mess so hoping to move into a household that prioritizes cleanliness, I know we all have busy schedules but I'm open to and willing to contribute to household chores or a chores roster or for us to do our own cleaning of our own separate areas whatever you prefer.
-Important side note, while I can still walk fine I am looking for a 1 - storey or a place where I am able to have a room on either the ground floor or up 1 flight of stairs preferably, due to an injury that I sustained in an incident between my dog and a former housemate's dog ( a GSD ) whom ended up biting me in my left arm and left leg. I made a full recovery but now I cannot walk up and down stairs too much.
I work in Animal Care, kennel attendant and experienced stablehand in Brisbane and Sydney for 7 years, animal carer at a rescue farm before moving back to Brisbane where I work part - time as a kennel attendant and I also run my own pet - sitting business in my clients homes offering doggy daycare and overnight pet - sitting, my busiest periods are public holidays/end of year holidays so I'm usually out of the home for weeks or months around those periods and my pets can stay with family while I'm gone if you prefer ( I don't expect anyone to take care of my pets while I'm working away from home ).
Transport - I don't have a car right now so looking for a place relatively close to public transport, I'm in my last year at uni so I'm always doing something whether it is out or at home.
