Hey, my name is Elisha. Basically all there is to say about me is that I'm pretty laidback, just another kiwi girl living in Brissie, lol. I get along well with everyone, easygoing but I am an introvert so I am quiet and keep to myself, generally I stay in my room when I am not working, but keen to live with friendly people and don't mind a drink/chat occasionally. I like reading, writing, singing, spending time with my dog ( more about her and her temperament/training, behaviour further down, will say now she is socialised well and good with cats and other dogs ). I'm vegetarian but don't mind living with omnivores, don't really care, ( my boyfriend eats meat and I grew up with meat eaters so it doesn't bother me ) I can be cluttered with my things, not going to lie, but only in my own space ( e g my room ). I do clean up after myself and prefer a tidy environment. Also, I am looking for either a 1 - storey or a house where I am able to have a room downstairs or at minimum only up 1 flight of stairs, due to an injury I sustained while working I cannot walk up and down stairs too much and as my dog is growing I want to avoid stairs for her where possible. I should also say now cause apparently it is obvious when people meet me, I'm neurodiverse - autistic and ADHD but yes, independent and working. I work in Animal Care, my experience is mostly with rescue farm animals at animal sanctuaries, I also worked as a groom/stablehand at an Equestrian Centre in Sydney for years before moving back to Brisbane; I'm a vet nurse working as a kennel attendant part - time and I run my own pet - sitting business so I am not home sometimes, I am often booked out pet - sitting in my clients homes and during those times, I take my 1yo Labrador Retriever, female, or she stays with family or my partner while I am working away. Or if it is ok with all other tenants, she stays at home while I am working with me travelling home to feed her/take her out in between my working hours, however I am looking to cut back on my pet - sitting business this year ( too much driving around Brisbane ) so only work 4 days/wk. Preferably looking for a place with another friendly doggo, she loves other dogs so would be great for her to have a pal! About my dog; her name is Katara, she is 1yo, she gets along well with other dogs and cats, she grew up with my former housemate's 3yo male German Shepherd, Theo, and her ragdoll cat, Blue. She is also good with kids as my housemate at the time, her 1yo niece lived with us so she has been around kids and she is good with my niece too and seems to either love kids or just... ignores them pretty much. With my work she has been around many different breeds of dogs so she is socialised well, she is playful but knows when to settle, she has been trained by myself and my partner since we got her at 8 weeks, I have a daily routine with her, she is fed 7am/7pm, I walk her twice a day early morning/afternoon, she is an indoor and outdoor dog but happy for her to be outside during the day, ( as long as the backyard/outside area is secure ) or if the backyard is too small and you prefer her not to be out freely in the house during the day then she is crate - trained for up to 6 hours, I usually put her in there with toys, water and leave puppy music playing for her and she settles well, * I rarely leave her in her crate for longer than 6 hours as long as I take her out to toilet which I do every morning/night and before work then she's good inside her crate without accidents. She is used to being with me when I am home and sleeps with me in my room, again in her crate. I do not allow her on furniture or on my bed, she knows commands and tricks, she loves people! She will be your best friend, I am very strict with her when meeting people, especially with jumping I do not like her jumping up on people which she does when she is excited, I don't let her get away with it and looking to move in with people who respect boundaries with animals because at the house where I used to be, my housemates would take my dog out for walks or they take her somewhere *without telling me first, or they encourage her up on the couches or they encourage rough play with her which made it harder to continue my training with her so I am hoping to move in with people who, er...well, don't overstep boundaries with my dog, if she does something wrong or any issues please feel free to come and talk to me openly, I am fair and reasonable ( I like to think ) so we can come up with a solution. :) I do prefer a place where I can move in with Katara, and one where my partner can come over to see me. He is respectful and friendly, works 5 days a week so he will most likely only be over on weekends. Thank you.
