Hi, my name is Glenn and I'm a single 61 year old disability pensioner and on the NDIS recently and I'm looking for a nice, simple, clean, safe, peaceful, legal place to live for as long as possible until a housing commission or NDIS place is offered to me.
My preference is to rent from an owner rather than to sublet from renters as I've had problems in the past with people letting out rooms against the owner's or real-estate's wishes and worse in unsafe, dangerous circumstances.
I don't need swimming pools or jacuzzis or tennis courts or BBQ areas or a furnished room. I have my own modified single bed and fridge and little tv.
I've been on the social housing list since last year but the waiting list is crazy. Looks like I have to wait until someone dies or I start taking drugs or be a drunk or living on the street (which could be a possibility soon) to get any assistance thanks to terribly stupid politicians and their bad planning etc. 🙄🤦
I used to work in IT but I am on a pension now due to my health getting worse especially since I caught covid in hospital (thanks Qld Health for not taking precautions any more👍🙄🤦). I've recently been accepted onto the NDIS but they do not provide assistance with housing or at least until I get somewhere more permanent. Oh, the irony. Someone needs to tell them that prevention is better than cure.🙄🤦
Anyway, I'm clean, quiet and honest.
I'm an atheist/agnostic humanist.
I like nice cats and dogs.
I don't drink, smoke or do drugs and I like being considerate of others and vice versa.
I pay my bills and I pay them on time. I don't borrow, or lend money (any more as I've been ripped off too many times by dishonest ar$&*!/s.).
I pretty much keep to myself and have plenty of interests and hobbies like Warhammer fantasy and 40k, RPGs, miniature painting, reading, board and computer games, history, science, AI, engineering, UFOs and other mysteries, robotics, civilisations, cultures, futurism, computers, 3D modelling and printing and learning and investigating things that keep me interested. It really is an amazing universe/existence.
I like talking about said subjects and interested in learning from others. But I'm not into small talk like the weather, or sports unless it's about meteorological physics or about how big-money has ruined competition and keeps people from thinking. Happy to agree to disagree on contentious issues and not talk about them.
I'd like a place preferably East of the free-way near regular public transport including the tram if possible and being able to get to a 700 (Gold Coast high-way) bus if I can so I can get out and go to the major shopping centres etc.
I'm definitely open to teaming up with some one or two stable, reliable and fairly sensible folk to rent a place together with.
