Howsit! We’re Luke and Mikaela, a couple relocating from Cape Town to Perth this November. We're looking for a place to call home for around 3 months while we settle into the city and get to know the area.
A bit about us:
Mikaela will be starting a full-time PhD in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology in November, and will be based at Perth Children’s Hospital. Luke is a data engineer currently working remotely full-time, and he’s planning to transition into a hybrid role once we’re settled in Perth.
We’re both active, outdoorsy people who are excited to explore WA! Mikaela is a keen runner and hockey player (during the season), and Luke loves surfing and cooking. On weekends, we’re often camping, hiking, or heading off on a little road trip.
We’ve both lived in share houses before and know the value of being considerate, tidy, and respectful housemates. We’re non-smokers, not big drinkers, and really appreciate a calm, clean home environment. Whether it's a friendly chat in the kitchen or giving everyone space after a long day, we're easy-going and mindful of those we live with.
We're looking for a furnished room (or self-contained unit) from mid-November for about 3 months, with some flexibility. Ideally, we’d love to live somewhere that gives us access to nature and good transport connections, but we’re open-minded and more focused on finding a relaxed, welcoming home to start our Perth chapter.
