Hi everyone! I'm Kristina from Denmark, where I usually spend my time studying anthropology. I have gotten the opportunity to spend the last semester of my BA-degree at ANU, which I am very much looking forward to! But - this means that I need a place to live - preferably as close to ANU as possible, but anything has my interest. I will be in Canberra to look for places from the 1st of February - my studies start on the 13th. I have been living with roommates in different variations for the past four years, so I consider myself accustomed to this way of living - and I love it. I enjoy living with other people, discussing the worldsituation over dinner, a glass of wine, coffee or whatever. I like being social with my roommates, but - of course - also appreciate my privacy, and respect others :-) When I'm not studying, I usually spend my time hanging out with friends, doing yoga, enjoying political and cultural discussions and/or experiences, and back in Denmark, I also have a part time job as a bartender.
Hi there... I am 30 years old, working full time and studying teaching online part time. I enjoy a house that is a home,I like to get to know my flatmates and share a meal or glass of wine every now and then. I love dogs so if you have one I would be happy to look after it from time to time or take for walks. I enjoy being outdoors, kayaking, walking, travelling, cooking, eating out.... I come with a kayak so I will need somewhere to keep it and where I can access it when I want to Edel
Hey there :) I'm DaHye, a third year BA/BBA ANU student originally from Korea, currently majoring Arabic language, minoring Japanese and Middle Eastern Asian studies for my BA program. I will be returning to Canberra on 16 Feb, and I'm looking for a share house with fun and cool people :). A coffee addict and casual runner, neat and super organised, enjoy some light beer/soju during dinner. I stayed in share houses while I was in Morocco and Japan both for 6 months last year (also stayed in student residence during first two years in Canberra), and didn't have much issues with housemates during my stays. I'm not a huge party monster, but I really enjoy listening to people and have a chill conversation.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I love music and books and art. I've been in many share houses over the years and I will always do my part when it comes to keeping the place clean and respecting the space of others. I enjoy/need my quiet time and may have quiet days, but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily, I promise you'd love him. I'm from a small country town in Central West NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Won't be studying this year but will be working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new share house. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I have a lot of furniture that I can bring along. In my down time, I usually spend time in the garden, going for walks, or reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and/or a dance. I will wait up and watch GoT/Stranger Things with you each week, share my chocolate (sometimes) and show you silly youtube videos.
I am a 5th year student at ANU and have just returned from 3 semesters overseas. I am a very independent, friendly, relaxed person. I like doing my own thing but also very much enjoy socialising with others. Easy-going and adaptable :). I will be heading back to Canberra in mid January so am available to see the house and meet the housemates from then :). Thank you!
Hi I’m Vee, I’m a 32 year old professional, I’m moving to Canberra in two weeks for a new position within my Dept. I’m tidy/clean, respectful of others’ space, but also easy to get along and live with. My routine usually revolves around work, the gym/exercise and dinners with friends. I’ll also be fitting in trips away to Melbourne to see my friends and family from time-to-time. I’ll be honest - I’m not much of a cook and because of my schedule I don’t tend to expend much energy on that but if you are into sharing meals occasionally then I will definitely try and make an effort … I make mean pancakes, it’s the Canadian in me. I’ll be in Canberra and ready to meet/check out places from Sunday Feb 5th and could move in after that if I find the right place. -V.
I am an international film student from Indonesia. Pretty much into music, film, art, outdoor activities, camping, etc. I might play guitar and sing sometimes in my room, its an acoustic guitar so it will not make too much noise. I enjoy good talk, but love spending time in my room as well. Plan to buy a motorbike soon so a bit of space in garage will be great.
I am neat and tidy, but enjoy a relaxed home environment. I like to cook and have a glass of wine after work and spend weekends with friends and family. I would like to get a 3 bedroom house and share with one other person.
Hi I'm Jack, I'm currently looking for accommodation in North Canberra to commute into the ANU where I study PPE/Law. I also work remotely as an administration assistant. I'm originally from Newcastle and my hobbies mainly include reading, walking, learning foreign languages, travelling and generally talking to people about big issues and small. I'm clean and tidy, especially when it comes to common areas as I really hate annoying people and have a good history of getting my rent in on time which I can provide. In terms of how I relate to flatmates/housemates I'm pretty flexible, always happy to hang out but also enjoy alone time and respect when others want it. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me on my mobile. Cheers, Jack
Hi, I'm Hugh, a 24 year old honours student at ANU. I'm just looking for a nice and friendly sharehouse to move into this year! I spend most of my time writing this nasty thesis and working at community legal centres but when home, I'm always keen to relax and hang out. I'm looking to share a place with clean, respectful and friendly people! If you're an easy-going, respectful and friendly person, please get in touch!
I'm a neat, organised and outgoing person. I am very social but respect privacy. I'm a non-smoker and don't go out partying. I love staying in and having movie nights after work.
I'm a 22 year old from Adelaide who is moving to Canberra in late January for a one year contract in the Australian Public Service. I completed my Construction Management degree recently and have previously been working in Local Government/Council. I'm quiet and easy to get along with and my interests include photography, computer gaming and being outdoors.I cook occasionally, sushi is my favourite dish to prepare. I'm a tidy person who doesn't smoke and enjoys an occasional drink. I fly over on Jan 30 and need to find a place to live by mid Feb. I'll also need parking options for my car.
I am from Newcastle, NSW. I moved to Canberra at the start of 2016 to study music at ANU. I am 19, currently studying vocal performance and French language and culture at ANU and am about to begin my second year. I also work singing teaching and performing. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, watching tv/movies and listening to music (of course). I love the outdoors and going out to gigs/concerts/restaurants as much as I love a quiet night in. I am a non-smoker and I only have furniture for my bedroom. I am very respectful of privacy/personal space and I try to be as mindful as I can when it comes to noise and cleanliness.
I've nearly finished studying mathematics, and looking for a place to stay for the last semester of my degree. I'd be great to live with because I'm not very dramatic, I don't trash the place, I cook good food, I'm not very hard to get along with, I'm good at sorting out conflicts, and I'm not very noisy or disruptive either. That being said I'm not a total bore, and I'm happy socializing and making friends. I grew up in Townsville, QLD, but I've been in Canberra for the last four years or so. I lived at the Canberra Student Housing Co-operative for 2015 and 2016, and while it's a fantastic place I felt like it was time for me to move on and make room for people who could really benefit from the place. For fun I like to socialize, cook, play video games, read, etc - although I'm usually down to do what other people are doing. I'm not a huge drinker but I'll join in for social events. Don't do drugs but I don't mind people that do.
Hi there, I'm moving from Newcastle to Canberra in early February to start an undergraduate degree in International Relations and Political Science at ANU. I am honest, respectful and a positive person who will pull my weight in cleaning and cooking. I am looking for a comfortable house share (close to the uni) or an easy going flat mate who enjoys a laugh and a wine or two (or beer) but it also respectful of space and noise. I like to cook, being outdoors (bbq's and the beach), checking out markets, restaurants, bars but also enjoy my own time and a bit of peace and quiet. I'm also very interested in teaming up and starting a share house. Looking forward to checking out Canberra. Cheers!
Hey all! I am an international student from Hong Kong and will be studying at ANU. I am moving alone so I don't know anyone in Australia/Canberra. I am a respectful and down to earth person who is a bit quiet at first but can be fun to talk to when I get to know a person. I like watching movies, reading, listening to music, napping on a beach, exploring new places, eating different kinds of cuisine, local street food and having a few drinks with friends. I don't smoke and I don't have pets. I am a tidy person and don't make noise. ***My preference: I would love to live with people who are friendly and tidy, preferably if you are also studying at ANU (please feel free to contact me even if you are just looking to team up). Flat-wise I prefer a place within walking/bicycles distance of ANU, or with easily accessible public transport nearby directly to ANU. I don't mind sharing bathroom but I prefer to have my own furnished lockable room in a neat and tidy house.
Neat, good personal hygiene, great company, hilarious and humble. Moving from Melbourne to our country's fabulous (ahem) capital to further my career and pursue higher(er) education. For fun I like to eat and shop beyond my means, not exercise and read. A bit to much. Kthanksbai!
I am about to start my PhD program in Ecology and Evolution at the ANU and have multiple interests. I will be landing in Canberra on 11 February. As I will have a range of fieldworks in the second semesters, I am not sure if I will be able to keep a place in Canberra from July on yet - but let's say I am looking for a long term accommodation. Despite the science, I like to spend some time developing my abilities in languages, music, literature, arts and dance as hobbies (sporadically). Currently, I have been embracing the practice of physical training weekly. Although I was raised in the countryside of Brazil, influenced by a traditional culture, I identify as an open person and love to learn from new experiences. My friends usually describe me as an independent person, with a nice taste for music, creative and communicative, however, with a funny need for being at least some time alone each day. I like travels and learning about other cultures from usually strange people. I never do anything that I do not feel secure/ready at doing, thinking about the consequences. I am tidy, easy going and respectful. If you like (the amazing) Brazilian food, we can share some in the weekends. :)
Currently a third year Economics/Law student at ANU. Just came back from exchange in Singapore so looking for a place to stay for the remainder of the year. Will be spending the majority of my time at university but I am very sociable and considerate as a housemate. Cleanliness is a priority for myself and as such I can guarantee that both private and shared spaces will be well kept.
I’m Haynes, 23 years old, and from Melbourne! I’ve just landed a full-time job in the APS and I’m moving to Canberra in January. As it's my first time living in Canberra, I’m keen to explore new venues/bars/restaurants and see what the city has to offer. I'm a very respectful, tidy and happy housemate who loves to be social but can also respect others personal space. I don't have any pets or dependents & I'm interested in securing long-term accommodation. Things I like: - Food festivals - Films - Good coffee (basically a pre-requisite to living in Melbourne) - 80’s music - Reading - Hiking/jogging - Cycling Ideally I'm looking for my own room in a friendly house. I’m interested in a long-term rental close to the city or universities – but I’m flexible. Shoot me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
Hi, I'm Sabrina, sent to Canberra by my company and having been in here for 2 months. I'm fun and laid-back, enjoying food and binge-watching movies. I work full-time but would also love to socialize!
I'm moving to Canberra for a full-time public service job. I'm looking for a share house in the inner north. I'm flexible with move dates, but I want to have a place before I start work on 6 February. While I’m an active and social person, I’m also a considerate housemate. I’d like to live in a social house where we occasionally enjoy a shared meal/drink/Netflix binge but also respect each other’s space. I currently live in Sydney. I can quote episodes of Broad City, IT Crowd and Arrested Development pretty much line for line, if you're into that kind of thing. I like hiking, reading, live music, podcasts, yoga and good food/coffee. I also love cooking. I’m always looking for people to eat my baked goods so that I don’t eat them all.
Hey there I'm Arshia and I'm from Melbourne! I'll be starting my Masters at ANU in February so I'm looking for a private room in Canberra to stay in for this year (though I'm willing to stay in places with shorter or longer leases). I have a pretty laid back personality and I like living in a clean and tidy place so I will happily contribute to chores to make sure it stays that way! I'm also a really social person who loves nights out (or in), or even just chatting every now and then over drinks :) Look forward to hearing from you!
I'm moving from Sydney to start postgrad study at ANU first semester this year - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
I am a student who will be moving to Canberra from Brisbane to study Aeronautical Engineering at UNSW. I am very tidy and respectful of other's space but always willing to hang out and chat. I will always be out at work or uni so I won't be around the house too much. I may not be the best cook but if you need cakes or slices, I'm your girl. I can't wait to meet my Canberra family!
I'm a former working holiday maker from London, going de facto with my Aussie-Brit boyfriend of four years. Matt works full-time in IT and I'm in hospitality. Both of us are pretty easygoing and super sociable - we usually work, gym and Netflix in the week but love going out and meeting new people on weekends.
Hey! I’m Sarah and I’m looking for a room to rent from mid-late Feb (dates flexible) when I move over to Canberra from Perth. Looking for a lease preferably at least 6 months with an option to continue, or to team up and start a share house.
If you're looking for a fellow 21 y.o male student at ANU, look no further! How would I describe myself? Mmmm. Curious, nerdy with a hint of fun but sensible. Needless to say, pays bills on time and subtly appreciates sharing stories about our sometimes mundane but necessary unfolding of life. Oh, I'll never shy away from occasional midnight scrabbles! Or Monopoly, yeah, monopoly.
Hello future flatmate! My partner and I are originally from Sydney, and we are both currently studying law at ANU. We are clean, friendly and sociable people, and are used to living with people after our experiences in shared accommodation last year. We are also responsible with our housework, and willing to do our share around the house. We are excited to meet new people, and hope to hear from you soon! :)
Hello! 24yo here about to move down from Sydney to start a role in the public service. While not really into partying til late, I love meeting new friends and will gladly have some fun over food, drinks, board games n movies. Most often found chilling on the PC/laptop and listening to music. It's my first time moving interstate but i've previously lived a year in Japan. I respect people's space/privacy and always clean up after myself. I love travelling and visiting museums and national parks - pretty excited to see what Canberra has to offer so will probably spend weekends out exploring when not taking a break at home. Personality-wise I am told that I'm friendly, easy-going and positive. Flexible around moving-in dates however the starting date for my full-time job is in the second week of February. Preferred length is stated as 6 months but is really flexible. Always happy to team up and establish a small sharehouse of 2-3 like-minded people also!
I am starting my Masters in Economics at ANU from 20 February, and am looking to relocate from Sydney to Canberra in the next few weeks. A bit about me: I am 23 and easy going, looking to move in with likeminded people. I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, so am well versed in the art of share housing. I know when to keep to myself, but also happy to share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time. I also make a great cup of tea.
I'm relocating from metropolitan Melbourne to commence an APS graduate programme in February 2017. I'm perhaps different to other flatmates, may be its an age thing or maturity. I'm a Taurus if that means anything to some, it just sums up in abbreviation as to what kind of person I am. For fun... I'm into computers, computer games, gadgets and highly sophisticated toys (gadgets... again). I like landscape photography, cycling (road, mtb or electric). I also like racket sports (e.g. Squash, Badminton), gym and also driving in addition to exploration and getaways. I generally keep to myself and will either ride, walk or drive to work.
