My name is Kate, I'm 24, and I'm moving to Canberra in January to start working full time with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. I'm currently living in Melbourne, but I grew up in Tasmania, so I have a very keen interest in the outdoors - I love hiking, snowboarding, and I've just bought a bike and I'm getting into cycling! On the weekends I like to either head off somewhere for an adventure, or go hunt down some live music or a dance floor. Some of my favourite things are Disney movies, perfectly ripe avocados, making up Game of Thrones theories, and the smell of clean bed sheets. In terms of my housemate-style, during the week I'm a bit of a homebody; I love sitting on the couch with a glass of wine (after heading to the gym if I'm keen enough) while eating some kind of carb with cheese on it. I enjoy living with people who have got their own things going on, but are down for a family dinner on the odd occasion everyone is home at the same time.
Hey there :) I'm DaHye, a third year BA/BBA ANU student originally from Korea, currently majoring Arabic language, minoring Japanese and Middle Eastern Asian studies for my BA program. I will be returning to Canberra on 16 Feb, and I'm looking for a share house with fun and cool people :). A coffee addict and casual runner, neat and super organised, enjoy some light beer/soju during dinner. I stayed in share houses while I was in Morocco and Japan both for 6 months last year (also stayed in student residence during first two years in Canberra), and didn't have much issues with housemates during my stays. I'm not a huge party monster, but I really enjoy listening to people and have a chill conversation.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I love music and books and art. I've been in many share houses over the years and I will always do my part when it comes to keeping the place clean and respecting the space of others. I enjoy/need my quiet time and may have quiet days, but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily, I promise you'd love him. I'm from a small country town in Central West NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Won't be studying this year but will be working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new share house. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I have a lot of furniture that I can bring along. In my down time, I usually spend time in the garden, going for walks, or reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and/or a dance. I will wait up and watch GoT/Stranger Things with you each week, share my chocolate (sometimes) and show you silly youtube videos.
Moving from Brisbane for a grad job with the APS. I like Netflix and pizza as much as the next person! Am up for coffee, chats and exploring Canberra. I promise to do dishes and clean up after myself! Basic flatmate stuff.
I'm male, single, and a non-smoker. Returning to Canberra for work after studying at ANU until 2015. I’m a tidy person who likes to share the occasional meal or watch TV with company but I’m also considerate of other people’s need for privacy. My new job requires very early starts (~4am) a few times a week so I'm looking for flatmates who can accommodate my hours.
Hi, my name is Lachlan and I'm a local Canberran looking for a new share house as I begin working full time as a young professional. I'm ideally after an apartment and considerate/tidy housemates to share it with. I've lived the share house life for the past four years in Canberra and enjoy hockey and relaxed drinks in my spare time.
My friend Dana and I are moving to Canberra and are looking for two separate rooms to rent (preferrably in the same property but not a neccessity). I'm 25 years old and Dana is 19 and we both work full time in childcare. We are tidy and friendly people who like our own space as well as socialising. I like to cook (Dana not so much) and we both like to eat, drink, watch TV, read, take walks, go on day trips, be outdoors, go to the beach etc. We are looking for a chilled, like minded flat/housemate(s) to share a space with. Hoping to hear from you soon!
Hi, I'm Grace! I've moved to Canberra from Perth to start full-time work with the public service. I'm always up for Netflix binges, coffee chats or anything in between. I'm a little bit of a nanna, so love baking, cups of tea and curling up with a good book. Ideally, I'd be looking for a housemate that I can share an occasional meal with if we're both home at the same time. Most importantly, I'm clean and tidy (but not a neat freak), respectful of personal space and down time, and can cook a mean lasagne.
Hi I'm Tash and I've just moved to Canberra, all the way from Cairns in sunny Nth QLD. I'm very organised and tidy. I enjoy both spending time at the gym and spending time chilled out watching movies/reading on the couch. I like some alone time, but would also love roommates who are happy to chill out and enjoy and chat or movie night in the evenings.
I am a International Studies graduate moving to Canberra from Brisbane to start an APS graduate program (full time work) in the beginning of February and am looking for a room in an apartment/unit/townhouse, preferably with a female roommate (20s-30s). I am organised, clean, pretty quiet and respect the importance of privacy but also would love a roommate to sometimes chat and hang out with after work (over a glass of wine or a movie/netflix) Love to be social on weekends and having people over for dinner or going away on a day-trip. Other things about me: can cook, have lived overseas, am a cat lover, and am into fitness and snow-sports. Happy to bring any furniture or appliances needed! Looking for anything between a 6 month or 12 month lease!
Hi friends I am an Melbournian looking for a place in Central Canberra, starting mid-March. I have a Singaporean GF. I will "blahh" what we are looking for below, so that everyone can make efficient use of their time. COOKING We generally cook our own meals, so the place we choose will have microwave, gas stove and over/griller facilities. I am not a cook/chef so our meals are quite simple, because it beats spending 1-2 hours hunting for meals outside. REDUCED CAR LIFESTYLE We don't plan to own a car and this would factor into our decision making process. The aim is to live within 10-15 minutes walk of a shopping centre with a big supermarket. This will hopefully be complemented by public transport, our own bicycles and the occasional car hire. INTERNET We generally spend most of our time doing stuff through laptops, so a good internet connection is important. CLEANLINESS We are both clean and considerate, and look forward to staying with similarly clean and considerate people too. Non-carpeted places are the best as they are the easiest to clean and maintain and generally do not accumulate...dirt. We can work with carpet, so see how it goes on case-by-case basis. Want to know more? Send a message and we can explore further David
I'm a 22 year old from Adelaide who is moving to Canberra in late January for a one year contract in the Australian Public Service. I completed my Construction Management degree recently and have previously been working in Local Government/Council. I'm quiet and easy to get along with and my interests include photography, computer gaming and being outdoors.I cook occasionally, sushi is my favourite dish to prepare. I'm a tidy person who doesn't smoke and enjoys an occasional drink. I fly over on Jan 30 and need to find a place to live by mid Feb. I'll also need parking options for my car.
Hi, I’m Sam, a 27 year old fulltime public servant looking for a new share house. I’ve lived in share houses in Canberra’s inner north and south for the past few years. I’m easy-going, tidy and happy for an after work chat or drink. After work and on weekends, I like to check out cafes, restaurants and the sights around Canberra, catch up with friends and watch Netflix. If you have a place or would like to team-up or know more about me, please feel free to get in contact.
I am moving from Brisbane to join the public service. I like to think of myself as having the right amount of social anxiety where I'm an extremely considerate flatmate who is still able to share a meal and/or laugh. I come with an excellent vacuum cleaner and am not hopeless at domestic activities. If you like Netflix and sarcasm then I think we could make something work.
Hi! I'm moving to Canberra to start an APS Graduate position (full-time). I'm easygoing and quiet but sociable. A big fan of live music, red wine, cooking, reading and watching lots of TV/movies. I also enjoy hiking and snowboarding. I'm happy to go out, stay in, share a meal, chat, or relax by myself and give you space :) I'm tidy and organised, and by all accounts easy to get along with. Looking to live with 1-2 other people in an established sharehouse or to setup something new! I'd like to complete my move by Feb 13th but I'm open to moving from the start of February.
I'm a full-time student moving from Brisbane after just finishing degrees in Engineering and Science at the University of Queensland. I'll be starting an Astrophysics PhD at the Australian National University (Mt Stromlo Observatory) in March. I'm very chilled out, mature, tidy, not easily annoyed, enjoy having friendly chats, and exploring all that Canberra life has to offer! I like to keep the house clean, and am very respectful of others' personal space. I'm also pretty light-hearted, and enjoy socialising and having a laugh. I'd be most interested in living with other like-minded students, but also enjoy interacting with all different types of people.
I moved to Canberra last January for work where I got a job as a public servent who works full time (mon-fri). I am a person who likes to keep to them self but also enjoys hanging out with people. I also enjoy cooking, watching movies/TV, playing video games and just relaxing. Thanks for reading.
I'm moving from Sydney to start postgrad study at ANU first semester this year - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
We're a Canadian and Australian couple looking for a place to rent for a few months in Canberra. We love cooking, travelling and staying active... on the couch... with netflix (though Alaina is a keen swimmer and Ari is a keen runner). We are social and enjoy meeting new people, but also value a relaxing wine night. We're looking for a place with flatmates who are friendly, chill and happy to have two new faces around.
Hello! My name is Nicole, I'm 25 and have just moved to Canberra from Sydney for a 1 year contract new graduate job in the hospital. I'm looking forward to exploring what this lovely city has to offer! I love good coffee, wine and baking.
Hi future housemates, My name is Richard, I'm 28 and I'll be moving to Canberra in January for work. I'm very laid back and sociable so get along with just about anyone. I keep pretty active, used to be a keen rower and now have a go at just about anything to stop going stir crazy! I've lived in share houses before so I'm happy living with housemates, doing my bit around the house, chilling out at home and respecting each other's space. I am neat and tidy, non smoker, social drinker but definitely not a huge party animal. Prefer to live with like minded people and become friends rather than just housemates.
I'm John, 29, lawyer, moving to Canberra from Melbourne to join the APS. I enjoy cooking, wine, the outdoors, camping, and gym. I value good conversation but don't mind quiet time. I'm clean, friendly and easygoing, looking to make Canberra home for the next year or longer.
Hey I'm Dylan, a Canberra native in my mid-20s about to start a grad job with the Department of Health and looking to move a little closer to work. The job is a full-time position starting early February. Ideally I'd like to move late January but am very flexible with when this happens. I'm quite active and enjoy riding my bike, going to the gym and playing lots of soccer. I also like reading and playing guitar (or at least pretending I can). I am friendly but also fairly quiet. I enjoy socialising and quiet time in equal measures; I'm always up for a chat but also respectful of personal space. I like to be out and about but also enjoy a slow night in and am keen to try new things. Clean, considerate and chilled (the three Cs) and looking for a place with people who have similar values.
Easy going, active public servant looking for short-term accommodation to June/July before heading overseas on posting. House trained and will provide wine and cheese.
I'm a 32 y/o male working in the public service. I'm pretty chill, enjoy a beer and some banter, not a huge fan of winter (who is?), tidy, clean and dot have much stuff (including furniture). Don't have pets and don't smoke.
I'm a Melbournian with a double degree in Accounting and Economics. Just picked up a graduate position at the Department of Agriculture. If you need good coffee or your tax returns done, I'm your man. I've got a wide range of interests and don't mind being adventurous by trying new things. These include board games, kayaking, running dinners, experimental cooking, etc. I'm a fairly laid-back individual who values cleanliness and mutual respect. If there is anything else you wish to know, shoot me a message. Thank you, Andy
Hey, I'm a 25 year old working professional. I moved to Canberra in January 2015, but have been living overseas for work for the past six months. I'm pretty laid-back, and am respectful of peoples' personal space and privacy. I'm equally happy to do my own thing or share a meal/glass of wine/beer after a long day. Let me know if you would like to catch-up to see if we are compatible as flatmates! Cheers, Hamish
Hey there! I'm Grace and I'm about to leave my home town Melbourne for the capital city. Currently homeless so here I am...I am about to start a new job in the APS and am moving up in a few weeks. My move in date is flexible, but would be sometime in February. I am not sure what length of lease etc I'm looking for but open to different options. Outside of work I like to find great brunch spots and great coffee, go to the gym, relax, go on Netflix binges and so on. I'm a low key kind of person especially during the working week so would love some people to relax at home with who also won't mind if I chill out in my room alone sometimes. I am a clean and tidy person and am looking forward to making a new home in Canberra. I would be open to furnished or unfurnished options. I'm a pretty relaxed house mate, I'd love to make some new friends so let me know if all of that works for you and you have a room or need a housemate to find a place with :)
I am a student from the University of Queensland looking for a place to stay during a one month internship in Canberra. I am originally from the UK, but doing a Bachelors Degree in Brisbane. I'm an easy-going and tidy individual, who loves to get out and explore the city that I'm in!
I'm a recent ANU graduate who now has a graduate job in Canberra. I love to learn, am easy to get along with, respectful and tidy. I'm particularly interested in learning Mandarin, so living in a house with native mandarin speakers would be a huge bonus. My hobbies include running/exercise, soccer, reading, watching movies occasionally, learning about random stuff, travelling. I'm not much of a partygoer, however, I enjoy socialising and meeting new people.
I'm looking for an easy going place to live with my 10 year old cat Steve. I'm a public servant, work full time. I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, reading, cooking & spending time with friends & family.
Hi there, My name is Nelson. I'm 21 years old and have recently completed a degree in International Studies at Deakin, Melbourne. I am seeking a room for a 3 month period as I will be undertaking an internship with the Australian Institute of International Affairs in Canberra. I'm friendly, easy going and always up for a chat or a laugh. I will probably be focused on the internship predominantly, but am more than happy spending time with housemates and relaxing. I am attentive, clean and respectful, and mindful of others in their own space. I would preferably like a furnished room, or one with a bed provided at least, mainly so I don't have to cart all my stuff up from Victoria. So please get in touch if you have a room available. Thank you.
Hey Everyone! My name's Gurpreet, I've just moved to Canberra from Auckland, New Zealand to start up my career, which is located in Barton. A bit about me - I’m 23, easy to get along with, and will be a clean flatmate. I'm an avid basketball fan, a lover of food, and am keen to meet new people in and around Canberra. If I sound like a suitable candidate as a new flatmate, feel free to message me and we can grab a coffee. Thanks! 🙂 Gurpreet
I'm moving to Canberra in early February (can move in earlier or later) to work full time in finance in the APS. I'm clean and tidy and enjoy cooking/baking. I love animals so I'm happy to live in a household with pets. I’m pretty active outside of work with volunteering for various causes and also enjoy hiking and other cool activities. On the other hand, I love a day at home just chilling out crafting, watching Netflix and cross stitching and am more than happy to have company when I’m at home. I'm considerate of other people's space but also enjoy socialising.
Hi I'm Becky, I am moving to Canberra from Adelaide in late January to take up a position as a graduate lawyer. I am looking for a friendly share house to join, somewhere close to the city centre. Looking forward to hearing from you!
