Moving to Melbourne 14th May. As a person I would most likely be classified as an introverted-extrovert (not that I feel any inclination towards being labelled or labelling anyone, it just seems helpful to some people to mention these things). I am very much interested in the arts, cultural events, music (both live and recorded) and possess a strong desire to frequently enjoy great food and drink with others. I am from a European background, specifically North-Eastern Italian and Slovenian. This is what I attribute to providing me with a great love of food and beverages. I have a low-level grasp of the Italian language, though I am frequently making attempts at improving this. I also like to cook and bake, and I am often searching for recipes from my Grandparent’s region (Friuli-Venezia Giulia) to test out and share with others. I am a fairly quiet person and have developed a great fondness for my own company (Though I am never opposed to enjoying the company of others). This means I will often go for walks, read or do activities by myself. I enjoy keeping fit so I go to the gym and exercise at least three (3) times per week. I also place a high value on my sleep as this is vital to my overall health, so I have a good routine which I follow 99% of the time. Finally, I feel it important to mention that I am a very clean and tidy person. I always aim to keep my room neat, tidy and ordered and place a very high value on living in a house that is similar. I really appreciate a household that all pitch in together to maintaining the property, specifically a schedule for cleaning and a consistent cleaning-as-you-go approach to living. I quite enjoy cleaning bathrooms and sweeping/vacuuming and mopping, so I am more than happy to volunteer for these tasks weekly.
Easy going and relaxed attitude I enjoy a chat, generally a people person I get along with most. I'm usually a quite and private person tendings to keep to myself as well. I like to read and take Jay Dee out for walks most days. I like to put the feet up with my girlfriend and watch movies. Like to think I know my way around a kitchen and have been known to have a bit of a cook up. Jay Dee is an eleven year old staffy that can be a bit of a sook but is as happy as Larry sitting in the corner with his bed, keeping an eye on everyone. He lived with a kelpie the last 4 years and gets on pretty well with other similar sized dogs. He misses the other dog a bit so would welcome a friend.
First things first: I won't be wanting to move into a new place until after I have recovered from my second cancer removal surgery, scheduled sometime around July 2018. I keep to myself, friendly and quiet. I clean up after myself and can cook. I work full time, been at my place of work for over 7 years. 40 years old, recently divorced. I host my own radio show on community radio, Apple 98.5 FM, located in Bacchus Marsh. Back in February 2017 I had major surgery to remove cancer from my body, with a temporary stoma put in while my rectal area repairs itself. In May 2017 I began aggressive chemo treatment, which completed in late September. On Jan 23 2018, it was discovered that cancer has unfortunately returned to my body. Radiotherapy (for a 2nd time within 2 years) began in March and will end in April. Surgery most likely around July and more chemo to most likely follow around October/November. The person(s) accepting me into their home (if that is the case) will need to be aware of my health issues and be understanding and ok with it. I am also a high functioning autistic, better known as Asperger's. Doesn't really mean anything, doesn't affect anything in any way, just best that I mention it. I'm currently living at both my father's house in the eastern suburbs, and a share house in Darley (Bacchus Marsh), however I am planning to leave the house in Darley and live at my father's fulltime, just after I have completed radiotherapy.
