I also enjoy going to the gym, playing soccer, and just staying active in general. My background is Japanese on my grandparents’ side, although I don’t speak Japanese myself. Hey! My name’s Mia — I’m currently living down in Frankston North with my 8-year-old Bull Arab cross, Bobbie (aka Bobs), but I’m looking to move closer to St Kilda to be near work and Brighton, where my brother is about to welcome his first bub into the world. After a lot of back and forth, I’ve come to terms with the fact that finding a spacious enough spot closer to the city solo isn’t realistic for me right now, so I’m keen to team up with like-minded people to find a great place together. I’ve got a full house worth of furniture ready to go, but I’m flexible and happy to part with anything that’s not needed if someone else has pieces they’d prefer to use. I’m looking at places in the $500–800 range total and can comfortably contribute up to $400/week for the right setup. (Currently paying $500 on my own.) A bit about me — I work full time and stay pretty busy during the week. On weekends I love to get outdoors — camping, hiking, any kind of adventure really — but I’m just as happy with a chilled night at home watching the footy or picking away at teaching myself guitar. I’m not a big party girl, but I love a few cold ones or a bottle of wine shared with friends. I’m a big cook (feeding people brings me joy), so always happy to whip something up for housemates if you’re around. Ideally, I’m looking for a home with people who are social and open but also value their own space — I’m neurodivergent (ADHD) and while I love a chat and a hang, I definitely need that decompression time after a big week. I spent over 30 years masking it and I’m done with that, so hoping to find people who are understanding and inclusive of neurodivergence. As for Bobbie — he’s a gentle, cuddly soul who just wants to be wherever the people are. He has a bit of separation anxiety so it’s really important that whoever I live with is a dog lover and open to sharing space with him. He’s brilliant with other dogs too, having spent lots of time around other fosters I’ve looked after — so if you’ve got a pup, I’d absolutely welcome them as part of the fam too.
