Hello potential future housemates or landladies/-lords :) I just moved to Newcastle for a new job and am looking for a lovely new cosy home here! I am a clean, respectful and considerate person and have lived in many sharehouses over the years. After living on the Gold Coast/Northern Rivers for a few years, I do miss nature a lot and so am dreaming of finding a home that has some kind of outdoor hangout spot. I'm looking for a room of decent size, lightfilled, and am hoping for a place with an outdoor space/ verandah/balcony to roll out a yoga mat, read a book or enjoy a cuppa in a leafy setting. I would also love a granny flat or some self contained accommodation. I'm originally from Europe but have lived in Australia for several years now. Originally I'm a biologist but the pandemic has thrown me a career curveball and so I have worked in various fields in the past few years. I'm an open communicator and always up for a chat and a laugh, have a profound or also just a funny silly conversation, have a movie night or share a meal. But I do also enjoy my downtime to recharge and unwind, and equally respect my housemate's individual needs for downtime and privacy. I appreciate households that recycle/compost and if there's a backyard and or/veggie patch I'm always happy to contribute to having a nice garden. I love doing anything outdoorsy (hiking, learning to surf, yoga, ..) and spending time in nature, and on the weekends am usually out exploring, hiking, or by the beach. I don't smoke and I am not a party animal but love me some good live music or some fun stand up comedy or having a chat over a drink. I don't have any pets but love animals so if there's any animals present, I would love to contribute to cuddles (I've also worked as a pet sitter and as an animal attendant at a large shelter). While my stay length is flexible, I am ultimately trying to find the right home and stay long term.
