I work fulltime on in IT and am looking for a nice place to stay instead of staying at a hotel longterm. I am from Brisbane and would be going home every second weekend or so. I am happy to share a glas of wine and a chat but also have my own life. I have shared before and know the importance of cleaning up after myself.
I'm back in Canberra (studied and worked here previously) after several years overseas. Got lots of good travel stories. Aiming to cycle to work at Black Mountain most days, like to be active, and usually out and about on weekends. Environmentally conscious, like my own space but also social and ready to have a chat. Ideal place would have (in decreasing order of importance): awesome housemate, carpet, sunshine, views, gas cooking. Love cats so that would be an amazing bonus!
I'm a friendly, supportive person who works full time as a journalist in the press gallery. Looking for a chilled, clean, cosy place to live with lovely people. Hoping to foster greyhounds or live with pets.
Hi there, Relocated to Canberra from Auckland at the beginning of August and looking for a house / flat share with easy going professional(s). I'm not completely fixed on location as I will need to orientate myself a little more, therefore, I am only looking at a relatively short-term at present, but if it is the right place I will be more than happy to stay longer. Thanks, Mark
Hey all, I'm pretty much a "what you see is what you get" kinda guy, polite and friendly by nature, I'm also clean tidy and respectful. I love travelling and the outdoors, meeting new people and having great conversations. Having said that, I also understand and respect the need for privacy and expect the same of others. I've moved to Canberra for a career change and now that I'm settled in my new role I'm looking for a nice and convenient place to live. I'm a Frenchman in my early 30s and have been in Australia for about 6 years now, but in Canberra just a few months. In my spare time I like reading, exercising, watching Netflix or playing video games, listening to music or just generally socializing with friends and meeting new people. I also love skiing and the mountains (especially in Europe and Japan), I speak fluent French and English and a little bit of Spanish (and a few words in Japanese) and I'm always up for practicing. That's really all I care to say as I'm that type of person you'll "get" by meeting in person rather than just reading about me preaching about myself. Happy to answer any questions though. All the best! Nic
Hi, I'm new to Canberra after moving from QLD. I'm an electrical engineer (Dr Brad) with a full time job. I've lived in share accommodation most of my adult life so know what it takes to make a great share house. Outside of work I enjoy a coffee and keeping fit. Im just a down to earth bloke looking for similar flatmates.
I'm from Japan. I'm tidy. All bills included and furnished room is desirable. The cheaper the better. I wanna stay for 6 months. I'm gonna work at Rydges Capital Hill, so I wanna live within at longest 30 minutes from there.
Okay so a bit about myself, I have lived in share housing for almost 3 years now, so I definitely know the drill. I’m 19 years old, I work as a dental assistant in Manuka, normally Monday - Thursday & Tuesday - Friday. I’m looking for a second job for nights and weekends as I’ve recently just left my bar job. So normally I’m pretty busy working 7 day weeks. If I’m not working I go to my parents house in bredbo NSW, (45mins from Canberra, which is where I’m from). For fun I like to hang out with friends, eating, movies, drinks all that kinda stuff! I do keep to myself quite a bit when it comes to share houses, just because I’m normally so tired from long hours. So you’ll normally find that I like to be in my room chilling out watching Netflix. I guess what I’m really looking for in a home is just a clean environment to be honest. Xo Lauren
Back in Canberra after a while away. Looking for a place asap. I'm a sparky for a NSW government utility. Shift worker on rotating shifts. Enjoy going out for a couple of drinks every now and then, but also like a bit of peace and quiet and a cheeky Netflix binge. I'm tidy, respectful of others and easy to get along with, and half decent in the kitchen too.
I've recently graduated from ANU in environmental management. I currently work at Myer and intern sometimes at the Ginninderra catchment group. An environmentalist at heart I'm pretty clean, love to segregate my waste and compost (if possible). I am avid yoga practitioner. I usually quiet but always happy to have a conversation. A lover of coffee and all animals. I've lived in share houses before so I know how it works and strictly follow cleaning rosters. I'm easy to live with and I pay rent in full and on time.
Quiet mature postgraduate student seeks short term stay accommodation for upto 3 months whilst undertaking a government internship.
Hi! I'm Nadine, a 24 year old architect looking for a friendly, social home in the inner north/south :) I'm looking for a place that I can call home, with people who are up for hanging out (wine, netflix, food!) but also respectful of each others personal space and down time. I'm friendly, easy going, and tidy. I'm a bit of a home body, and love tea, brunch and baking! In my other spare time, I like to explore Canberra and the greater region - hiking, attending Canberra's many events and markets, craft, pottery.. I'm looking for a friendly, happy household with housemates who are up for a chat / to hang out!
My name is Shannen, I’m 21 originally from Townsville in QLD currently living in Darwin working. I will be relocating with my partner and our little Shar Pei puppy who is named Daisy. I will be moving around July to commence work. My partner is 22 and will be studying. We are both very tidy, enjoy meeting new people and learning about their cultures and backgrounds. We are young and up for anything really. We are both very chilled and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with our fur baby. We are also interested in team ups and will consider starting a new share house.
Hello, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Stijn Steenbergen. I am a 21-year-old Dutch undergraduate business student. I would describe my personality as introverted, driven and goal orientated. Furthermore, I am also someone who likes to keep things clean and organized. At the end of August, I will be starting an internship in Canberra. This internship will last around 5 months, ending in January. Now I am looking for housing during this 4-5-month period.
I’m positive, outgoing and super friendly. I’m into yoga, great conversations and I love to cook! I am a solicitor who has a passion for social justice. I am currently working in Indigenous Affairs Strategic Policy. I am vegetarian, sustainbly conscious and shop at the markets on the weekend. Would like to live with housemates who are recycling and composting too :) I would love to share a cottage style house, with French windows (one can dream!) and a small garden. I am ideally looking for a studio or to share with one other. I am open to a 3 person sharehouse if it’s the right fit! Having lived in a number of sharehouses, I’m considerate of others’ space and am looking for a home that is a cosy sanctuary respected by all.
Gday everyone! My name is Jarrod and i'm from Sydney, and my partners name is Kylie... I've been down in Canberra for work for the last month and have been offered a position down here ongoing so my partner and I are in search of accomodation for a mininum of 6 months. We will both be working during the week and will be in Sydney on the weekend spwnding time with family so we wont be in your hair! I was previously living in a shared accomodation through flatmates.com since January so I can provide a reference if required.
> full-time phd student > friendly and easy-going > respect others' privacy > have a car (so that my roommate and I can go out and have fun on holidays)
Hi! My name’s Amy and I just got a job in Media in Canberra. I’m a pretty easy going person and really just want to relax when I get home. I’m a big music lover (but won’t play loud music late at night) and like to cook. I also am good at cleaning up after myself. I have both lived out of home and with a roommate before. I also have a pug cross beagle (named Pumba) who is super friendly, trained and loves watching TV.
I'm a current honours student at ANU studying Psychology and working part time in functions. I'm open to pretty much any housing situation. In my spare time I enjoy reading, the gym and the odd video game.
I'm a 27 year old professional who works full time, whilst studying law part-time by distance. In my limited spare time I like to sit back with a good movie, game; but am also keen on a cheeky wine and a chat from time to time.
Hey everyone I'm Sunil and I am due to start work as a public servant in the beginning of February in Canberra. I'll be relocating from Perth and am looking for a place to stay in as soon as possible. I don't have any specific preferences when it comes to housemates and open to stay with anyone. A little bit about me, I enjoy watching and playing sports including tennis, soccer and cricket and up for a jog or a gym session throughout the week. I am working towards being an okay cook (currently a little hit and miss with my cooking) and am willing to do the occasional cook off with my future flatmates. Apart from sports and cooking, I am a bit of a book worm, enjoy playing board games as well as watching TV shows and movies on Netflix and I do the occasional binge watch when I have the time. I am clean and organised and am very considerate to privacy and downtime when needed. I don't consider myself an extrovert but nonetheless like to socalise and spend time with friends rather than spending all my time at home. Lastly I would like to have the occasional dinner and drink with future housemates and I would love to be friends rather than just another person living on the premises. Hope to meet some of you soon!
Coming across to Canberra to join the public service after studying in Sydney. I've lived in share houses in Sydney and in Munich, Germany where I did an internship so I'm well house-trained and also love meeting new flatmates. I'm independent but also enjoy a fun, friendly and relaxed household where we can occasionally go out for meals/movie/netflix binge. I am also more than happy to leave people to their own space as well - highly adaptable.
Son Thai. 51 years old male software engineer. Work Mon-Fri in Canberra and go to Sydney on weekends. I only stay in Canberra 4 nights per week, usually getting home late. I am clean, tidy, don't usually cook (I use the microwave mostly). I work and study so would not make much noises. I am a non-smoker and have no pets; I expect my flatmate to be also a non-smoker and have no pets (i.e. dogs, cats). Details from other fields in case you have not noticed: Move in date 12-th September 2018. Subburbs: Kingston, Fyshwick, Griffith, Narabundah. Need to have internet connection available. No car so don't need a parking space, except on moving days.
Hi. I'm moving from Sydney to Canberra with work in August and looking for a good home to share. I'm 41 and work 8-5ish. Weekdays I train a few times before work and like to chill at night, either on my own or happy to cook and chat over a meal. Weekends I'll likely be exploring my new town, or on my bike. Happy to hang out sometimes on the weekends if you're into similar things, but I'm also happy in my own space, or hang with the couple of mates in ACT already. I have my own furniture and can bring as much or as little as needed, like to keep things tidy & clean, and am an experienced flatty so am considerate with noise, chores and all the shared stuff. Canberra is a long term move, so I'm looking a longer term stay.
Moving from Melbourne for a grad role in the APS. I'm a clean and considerate person and enjoy socialising and making new friends - I would love to have roommate/s who are keen to chill, chat, cook and have a cheeky wine together. I'm flexible regarding the length of the lease - anywhere up to12 months. Ideally would love to live in walking distance from work.
I have been living in share houses for the past 9 years so am pretty used to communal living. I have lived in a number of places across the east coast as well as overseas. Having lived in so many places I have pretty flexible and adaptable. Having lived in lots of sharehouses I am used the respecting people's space and keeping the noise down as well cleaning up after myself etc I am currently living in a sharehouse in Sydney, but have been offered a new role in Canberra. I am pretty open to any location in Canberra. I love indoor plants and have quite a collection. I would love to live in a place with pets. I also enjoy gardening and I am trying to improve my outdoor green thumb :) Prior to moving to Sydney I used to make terrariums.
Hey I’m Sam, originally from the Gold Coast but been in Canberra for about 6 years (so pretty used to the winters). I work full time, am pretty easy going and social. I like to keep common areas clean, enjoy cooking and tend to have a friend or two over for dinner (once/twice a weekish). I like a good Netflix show and have family/friends that pop down to visit for the occasional weekend. I would be keen to live with someone else who enjoys a chat and the odd after work drink.
29 year old professional, fresh off the plane from Perth. Looking for a place reasonably central to the city or inner south. I have an ancient cat who keeps to herself and won’t bother anyone. Sociable, but too old to hit the clubs every night!
I'm a recent graduate moving to Canberra from Adelaide to start a job with the APS. I love languages (I speak Dutch and Japanese), music, and indoor plants. In my spare time, you'll find me reading, gardening, watching Netflix, or tending to my love of indoor plants. I enjoy my own space and respect others, but am also impartial to a glass of wine and a cheese board at the end of the day. I've lived in share houses before, so I get how it all works. Let me know if you think I'd be a good fit! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Living in Canberra working full time in Manuka I'm looking for flatmates to share in a nice, friendly house that respect privacy but are also willing to socialise, I am very easy going, clean and am used to living with others. Message me if you're interested!
