Hi everyone. I'm 34, originally from regional Victoria and I’m returning to the big (small) smoke of Canberra to work for a real estate, planning and valuation firm as a senior town planner and project manager on projects big and small around the ACT and over the border in regional NSW. Knowing it’s better to have a few ‘irons in the fire’ than just one, I’m somewhat flexible with location so I’m hoping someone in this sensational city may be looking for a great, 'low maintenance', new housemate as I am very keen to find a place to call home.
Ideally I'm looking for a house or townhouse (not opposed to sharing in a reasonably sized, centrally located apartment either) with one or two people.
If there's a decent pub or two in the neighbourhood, a good supermarket down the road, somewhere to get bearably decent coffee in the morning (on days off) and the house is secure, I'd be open to pretty much anyone who might want to share a their home with me.
Single, tidy, gay (not that it should matter), I’ll pay all of my bills and rent on time (if not in advance), and absolutely help out with maintenance/cleaning/chores. I'm pretty chill/relaxed, often enjoy meals in (love cooking), meals out and a chat over a froffie or a wine after a day in the office. I should add - I have ZERO issues living with pets and I love dogs. I'd actually prefer somewhere with a resident pooch or cat.
I've previously lived in rentals on my own and in share houses in Tasmania, the ACT and Victoria, and have references available from my employer and former housemates/landlords should you like to know more about why I'm great to live with (because that's important, no?)
As far as a little bit about me: in a previous life I worked for Lion Nathan at Little Creatures and White Rabbit breweries in Geelong, Victoria so I enjoy most things beer - so I'd be more than happy to duck over to Capital or Bentspoke and grab a couple of froffs socially.
I also enjoy rugby (union particularly - I’m a Rebels fan through and through, sorry Brumbies fans), travelling (in my own backyard and abroad), good music, design (industrial, graphic and architecture) and of course urban planning and god forbid, politics. I also enjoy, albeit being a novice, practicing yoga (more for the mental benefits as I’m anything physically flexible…)
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers, Josh.
