EDIT: I've now found a place from Dec 27 onwards, and will spend a few days travelling for Christmas beforehand, so I'm only looking for something short term until around then at this time.

Things I’m looking for in a place:
Budget; $500/week (share accom) or $650/week for a place of my own. Happy to consider cheaper as well. Ideally I would only share with one person.
Close to West End by public transport - say, 40 minutes or less is a good rough metric. Bonus points if it’s close to UQ as well, since I like to attend events there.
Quiet, AC, and some furnishings are required - I tend to dislike ambient noise like traffic, and I’m not sure how long I’ll be in Australia long-term so I don’t want to buy major furnishings.

About me:
I tend to largely keep to myself. Left to my own devices I tend to make small talk with housemates but otherwise be pretty quiet, though I am happy to be invited to do stuff. I read lots of books (especially sci-fi and post-apocalypse thrillers), play computer games, keep up with the latest news in my field, and want to get back into some sort of close-by and convenient physical exercise when I have a place to call home again - previously this has been the gym, tennis, rock climbing, or BJJ. (But certainly not all of them at once!) Doing the most good I can for the world is a major motivation in my life, and it informs both my career choice and my charitable giving. I have a partner in West End.
