Luke and Amber

Hey! We’re an engaged couple in our mid-20s looking for a place to live, ideally in a shared friendly setup.

We are both originally from the Gold Coast and are moving up to Brisbane for University and work. My partner, Amber, starts her Master’s at UQ in February, while I currently work a stable job while actively looking to use my degree and transition into a role in the CBD.

Outside of work and University, we are both pretty easy going. We enjoy going to the gym, spending time outdoors and keeping things fairly low-key. We’re both social and friendly but not big party people, and we are really looking a relaxed and comfortable place to call home.

We’re looking at areas with direct access to UQ via bus or CityCat, being within 30 minutes by public transport is a must. We are looking for an unfurnished room with enough space for a desk, as Amber will be studying from home at times. Ideally, our preference would be to share a 2-bed / 2-bath setup with another individual or couple, though we’re definitely open to other options for the right place. Having our own bathroom and toilet is a must.

We do have a car, so off-street parking would be a big bonus (happy to pay extra depending on the setup), though on-street parking at a minimum would work as well.

Our budget is around $500 per week plus bills, with some flexibility depending on the place. We have a stable income and family support, are reliable with rent and bills, and are more than happy to provide references from our previous rental and housemate.

Our preference is an initial 6-month term, with the intention of continuing longer-term if it’s a good fit.
