About me

Hey I'm David, 35 and work as a security guard. I'm really looking at getting out of my current residence as soon as possible. It's costing me too much in getting to and from work currently and the person I'm living with isn't really great housemate material, to put it lightly.

I have two older dogs named Bill and Rocky, Bill is a 16 year old Sydney Silky Terrier and Rocky's an 8 year old Chihuahua.

Both are small and pretty chill, Rocky doesn't have the aggressive attitude like most Chihuahuas and he's actually a bit bigger than most Chihuahuas as well, he's just a chonky boy. He's a bit iffy with other dogs so if you have pets as well, I'll just keep him separate from yours. He'll only start barking if he hears other dogs going off.

Whereas Bill is just getting old, a bit on the deaf side and rarely barks anymore. He's more of a quiet, scruffy lump of fluff. They're both inside dogs so I'll generally have them in my room with me whenever I'm home and I'll feed them in there as well.

As for myself, I'm looking for a place that's close to work as I do security in Burleigh Heads, however if it's in a suburb that's close to public transport then that's perfect. I'm currently living up the mountain on Lower Beechmont so I'm looking for a place down the mountain that'll be easier to get to work and home again and not cost an arm and a leg through uber.

That being said, I don't drive. Don't have a licence or a car, but when it comes to moving in, I have family and mates that can help me so no need to worry about that.

I've never smoked or taken drugs but I don't mind if that's what your lifestyle is, I have plenty of mates that smoke and some still do recreational drugs too, so it doesn't bother me really.

I've never stolen anything from anyone or been in trouble with police either so no worries there. And I'm not one to have loads of mates over, have a party and trash a house either.

I am a bit more on the introverted side as I like to spend my days off in my room watching shows and movies on streaming sites or I'll spend it gaming as well and just chilling out with my dogs also.

But in saying that, I'm also extraverted as well. I've been working in hospitality for going on 16 years now. For 14 of those years, I spent it working as a glassy in nightclubs but recently been a security for the past 2 years. And I've also worked in retail for about 6 years.

So from working in those areas, it generally brought me out of my shell from my teenage years. But dealing with people in those fields of work has made me appreciate spending my days off doing my own thing haha.

So yeah I have no problems having a chat and a drink or two, chilling with mates or housemates and watching tv. I do drink but not as much as I did in my younger clubbing days so I'm pretty far from being an alcoholic.

I am into rock and metal music more than most genres but I won't have it blasting when a housemate walks in, I'm a bit more respectful of others and respectful of their property, their homes and of the neighbours too.

Also I know I've chosen a weird photo for the profile picture but I'm not photogenic so it's kinda the only decent one I have where I'm not wearing my sunnies lol 🤷

So let me know if I sound like a good fit for your place.

Cheers
