Workwise, I split my time between a professional/corporate job in Change Management at a University (occasionally one WFH day), and the other half is in Bush Regen around sydney, working to restore land to it's 'pre-colonial' state by planting, removing weeds and planning the next 5-10 years of environmental restoration. I have only recently wrapped up a third job working at a bespoke brewery in the inner west, and am really keen to go back to Hospo at some point in the future, maybe a cute little wine bar!
Hobbies: I'm a relatively busy person. If home, you'll rarely find me watching TV (am pretty anti-TV at home), and more likely pottering about with a podcast, drawing, taking care of plants or making new things from bits of wood. Afternoons are spent at the gym, yoga or walking with friends. I am a big coffee person, and while I'm not a hugo drinker I do enjoy a glass of good quality wine or imported beer over dinner. Every second weekend or so usually involves getting out of the city, so in all honesty I'm not at home a crazy amount of time. When I am, there's a focus on great food, downtime and reading.
Partner: I am female cis/hetero with a male partner, who I spend about half my week at his place. He's an ex-hospo boy who is eagerly moving into music events (struggling with sitting still at a desk for 8 hours) and finding joy in bird watching, spoon carving and learning how to live a bit slower.
Why I am moving:
I've been in a Marrickville share house for three years and been managing the sharehouse for about two years (admin, cleaning, filling rooms etc). One of my housemates is moving to the US at the end of the month so it's a good time to wrap things up. I'm really keen to move somewhere smaller and quieter. I've found it hard with housemates always coming and going, some particularly loud and hard to get along with. Maybe it's getting older, but I'm really keen to find a place that is quiet, sunny and slower.
