Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
I am a Canberra local who enjoys staying fit, music and travel. I am respectful of others and like to keep a clean and tidy household. I work full-time in IT and have active social life. I am easy going and like to get to know people but i'm also happy doing my own thing. I would be interested in teaming up to rent a house as I already have my own furniture and appliances. I am available from early November.
The property is situated in a leafy and quiet street in Narrabundah. It is close to shops, major bus routes and within a 10 min drive to the city. The room includes a large built-in wardrobe and can accommodate a queen bed. The property has ducted heating throughout and is fully furnished with lounge, TV, dining table, foxtel, BBQ, washing machine, dryer, fridge and dishwasher. Just bring your bed and room furnishings. There is a single lockup garage to store bulky things like bicycles etc. (currently setup with a small home gym).
I start Full time work in Hume on 14.11.16. looking for a room from 3 months to a year. Married man looking for accomodation during working week before relocating family. Clean and tidy, non smoker. Full time work, starting 14.11.16 driving trucks locally. Monday to Friday 6am - 4pm. Looking to stay from 1 week to 6 months. Will return home(Wollongong) most weekends. Would rather a furnished room with bills included. Willing to pay a month up front
The House We live in a furnished, 3-bedroom home that is less than three years old and within walking distance of Manuka. It is set back off the street for some added peace and a bus stop is a 30 second walk away. If you are looking for a modern property that is close to Barton, Kingston and Manuka, this is the place for you! The house stays naturally cool in the summer and has a split-system heating system for winter. In addition, it has a spacious open plan living area, European style UPVC windows and courtyard with an outdoor dining setting and decent barbie, which is great for summer entertaining. The shared areas are all fully furnished including laundry facilities, kitchen utensils and dining equipment. The Room We have one room available which can fit a queen bed and two bedside tables. It is currently furnished with a queen bed which you are welcome to or, if you have your own furniture, the bed can be removed. The room already has ample storage through a built-in wardrobe. You would be sharing a bathroom with one person (Pat), the other two people share their own ensuite. The Deal We would be signing you on as a boarder contract arrangement rather than on the lease (at least at first). As stated, rent is $195 which includes unlimited internet. Rent is paid fortnightly (and two weeks in advance). We split all electricity and gas bills equally (i.e. 4 ways) while the water bill is fully covered by the landlord. I would also require a 2 week bond. Your Housemates As for us, we are two guys (23 and 31) and one lady (26). I (John) work in the financial services sector while Patrick is working in aged care and Sarah a public servant. Pat loves his powerlifting as well as playing guitar in-between work and studying (Nursing at UC). Sarah is a keen yoga enthusiast and loves walking Red Hill in-between chats. For myself, I am a proud geek who also loves socialising, beer and the EPL. We are all very laid back, easy to live with (or so we think) and share many a fun conversation about anything from the trivial to the meaning of life. We do hang out together pretty regularly and then also share occasional family dinners/movie night. But of course, there are plenty of evenings when all just do our own thing too. Household Stuff Finally, we do like to keep a clean & tidy house. We would like a housemate who is keen for the same approach to shared spaces. Final Words If you're respectful, aged 21 - 40, and interested in having a look, give me (i.e. John) a call, email or message on here and we can arrange a time for you to see the place/room and meet the housemates to get a feel for each other! We look forward to hearing from you! p.s. the room is now available and we are happy to consider people seeking short or long term stays. Unfortunately, our landlord does not allow pets and we ourselves, would not like anyone with children.
I am moving to Canberra for work, working in civil construction. My job starts on the 7th of November so I am looking for a place to move into within the next fortnight My job is based in Hume so if i could find a place not to far from there would be a bonus. As I will be new to Canberra I am looking to move into a share house so that i get to meet new people and if possible i am looking for a furnished bedroom. I am originally from a small town called Bannockburn just outside of Geelong, Victoria. My interest are sport, travel and going to the pub for a few beers.
Moving from Sydney to Canberra for full time work (mon-fri) in january. I'm an outgoing person who enjoys hanging out with friends, going out, outdoor activities and gym on occasion. Always up to do new things and meeting new people. I'm described as happy and bubbly person. Although I'm pretty easy going and chilled, I'm also a respectful person who is considerate of other people's belongings and personal space. In terms of living with, i'm not a messy person and will definitely keep the place clean. As long as everyone does their part i'm happy. I'm also not noisy and definitely enjoy my down time as well. Simply looking for some nice, tidy and chill people to share a place with.
Hi everyone! A bit about me... I recently moved to Canberra after living overseas in the UK and Netherlands for a couple of years studying then working with a human rights NGO. I'm originally from Adelaide, but don’t hold that against me! I work in Federal Government, and will be moving back into a humanitarian role in government very soon. I'm very active, and love being outdoors - playing sport, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding (not well haha). Looking forward to making the most of Canberra’s outdoor scene this summer! I'm a pretty relaxed and outgoing kind of guy, enjoy a drink or two at the pub or over a BBQ or movie night at home but I’m definitely not a party animal. As I’m newish to Canberra, I’m keen to live in a house that feels more like a home. In that regard, I'm looking to start a small but social share house with people who are keen to hang out and socialise, but who are also considerate, and respectful of each other's privacy. I'm ideally looking for either a 2 or 3 bedroom place, with an ensuite bedroom that I could take. I’ve got a few bits and pieces of furniture - though anyone in possession of a fridge or washing machine will be highly regarded! ☺ Anyway, give me a shout if you think I'd be a good fit for your place, or if you're interested in teaming up to find a flat! Cheers, Trystan
I'm 25, working full time. I like to be active and social, so not home a lot during the week and often away on weekends. Love trashy tv and happy to share the odd meal and glass of wine with a housemate. I'm clean and tidy. I'm looking at getting a 2 bed place in the Kingston area and looking for someone to share with me. I come with most furniture and appliances which are fairly new and just looking for someone who is easy going, pretty clean and tidy and happy to hang out in front of the to if we're home at the same time.
Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
Hi everyone We are looking for someone to join our Canberra Ave share house - the room will be available from 11 November. The room fits a queen size bed and has a large wardrobe. We are looking for a similar aged, working professional - no preference on gender, but you must be a non-smoker, easy-going, and tidy. No couples please. Our favourite thing about the house is its great, central location. It's a short walk to Kingston and Manuka shops and also within walking distance of the Parliamentary Triangle. Features of the house include: - Fully furnished - Extra-large kitchen equipped with fridges, electric stovetop, oven, + plenty of bench and storage space - Washing machine and dryer - Bathroom with large bathtub, shower and separate toilet - Separate lounge and dining rooms - Outdoor timber deck for entertaining - Plenty of parking (enough for 3+ cars) - Timber flooring and ducted gas heating - Plenty of internal storage space Rent includes water. Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or to arrange a time to view the house.
About me: I am looking for a place to rent in the Kingston area. I am a professional female working in Belconnen. It's a bit of a drive to work each day, but I think Kingston/Barton is the best part of Canberra- you just can't beat the lifestyle. Fun fact- I live in Brisbane and Canberra at the same time. I spend my weekends in Brisbane (with the occasional exception where I'll stay in Canberra), and work in Canberra during the week. I have been flying to Canberra every week for two years, and I love it here. After work, I like to meet up with friends and colleagues for dinner a couple of nights a week. Other than that, I like to hang out with my housemates and watch Netflix/eat delicious food. I am looking for somewhere clean, quiet, and secure to share with a mature, trustworthy housemate or housemates. I have my own bedroom furniture. A car space and access to a gym is preferable.
Hello! I'm a young professional from Sydney moving to Canberra for work in November this year. I'm friendly, tidy, and respectful of personal space. I'm an avid world traveller, love watching John Oliver videos, and am a fan of wine and cheese. What I am looking for is a place (either with housemates or by myself) close to Barton. Feel free to contact me if you think your listing is one I'd be interested in! My desired dates are 12 Nov to 4 Feb (can be flexible).
I'm a 23 year old who has just relocated to Canberra to start full-time work with the public service and am looking for somewhere to live, short or long term. I really don't mind. I'll tell you a little about myself. I especially enjoy time at the the beach and exercise when I can, cooking, sports and techy stuff are also my hobbies. I consider myself to be a clean and considerate person. I'm quite a social guy and enjoy a good chat and the occasional bev. However can respect anyone's privacy and enjoy my time spent alone too. I'm also likely to travel often as I have family on the North Coast and Northern NSW. I often have a busy lifestyle, as most would in Canberra I assume. I'm easy going, love to meet new people and share experiences. I have had more than at-least 5 years in house sharing.
I'm an arts student at UC and work part time; always keen to cook a nice dinner and sit down for a movie or a chat. I love my potted plants (mostly ferns and ornamental chillies- have't figured out how to make them grow spicy yet though..) and tackling excessively complicated recipes, even if they don't always turn out so well! I'll be knuckling down hard at work and uni this year in preparation for a trip overseas, so when I'm not running around trying to be a productive adult you'll probably find me lounging somewhere comfy with a glass of wine. Looking for a fun, chill household or like-minded people to start a new place with- smiley housemates who love commiserating over work woes and binging on Netflix! :)
Hi I'm Nat I'm a law student from Brisbane but am graduating and moving to Canberra on Oct 25 for an Internship .I've stayed in Share Houses before and I really like it and enjoy being in other people's company. I'm easy to get a long with and clean up after myself . My internship is full time so I won't be around all that much but when I am more than happy to hang out. I don't know anyone in Canberra so living with some nice, fun people will be a bonus :)
Moving to Canberra October end/First week November. Full time professional working with a Government Department. Prefer either South Canberra or Civic and surrounding as I will be working in Forrest. Usually I spend my time playing sport, catching up with friends over drinks or just chill at home watching TV or playing games. I like to keep the place neat and tidy and would like to find someone similar. I will have my car with me so need a car space.
Hi, My name is Anthony. I am staring a new job in Canberra around the end of Oct/ start of Nov. I am moving from Darwin and I'll be new to Canberra. I'm more looking at teaming up with people as I have a reasonable amount of furniture. A little about me; I'm pretty chilled and layed back. I love to go out and have a good time but also have quiet weekends every now and then binge watching tv shows and relaxing. Love to cook and have people over for gatherings/bbqs. I'm a pretty neat and tidy person. I've previously lived with roomates so I know how to respect peoples space. I would like house mates who like to be social every now and then. I'm open to most areas of Canberra If its relatively close to the CBD.
Recent transplant to Canberra from the South Coast. Working full-time and studying postgrad part-time I keep pretty busy, but always find time to enjoy life. Avid adventurer who enjoys fitness, hiking, kayaking and anything outdoors. I'm extremely socialable so hoping for like minded housemates who enjoy life.
I'm a quiet housemate who is considerate of others. I like to be social too and catch up with friends. I've shared with various house mates over the years and work to get along with each housemate.
Just your average 20 year old girl who's a little bit too inlove with her cat. Love time alone and privacy but also some good banter and food. Looking for somewhere who understand working in hospo and don't care too much about my hit and miss hours!
I'm a librarian in my 30s, originally from Melbourne. I've spent the last couple of years working overseas in the international development sector, and have now just moved to Canberra to seek fame and glory in the public service. I'm also quite creative - I write music and spoken word and occasionally perform it, and like going to literary and fringe festivals. I often go swing dancing around town, and also enjoy chats and cups of tea on the couch when I'm at home - but, of course, respect people's need for alone time too! My favourite share houses in the past have been when living with other creative / artistic people - I do like to cohabit with people who are sociable with some sense of community involvement. That said, I'm not a huge party animal - I prefer my partying to be a little more low-key. Finally, I'm ideally looking for something in the inner-suburbs - walking or cycling distance from the National Library - though I'm not averse to living farther afield with the right people - as long as the bus line is nearby!
I'm an undergraduate Education student from Brisbane. I'll be in Canberra for 3 months over the summer on an internship. I've been share housing for 3 years in a range of places - from the very large (7 people - was quite the experience) to smaller arrangements. I'm friendly, easygoing and open to social or quiet share houses. I always clean up after myself, respect common areas and my housemate's privacy. I enjoy cooking, sightseeing, reading and volunteering. Feel free to drop me a line if you're looking for a team up!
Hello! I'll be starting full-time work with the public service in February 2017 and as such am looking for flatmates :) About me - I see myself as a friendly, but not overly boisterous person. I I like to keep active - swimming, cycling, and hiking are things I like to do for fun. I also enjoy a good chat over tea or beer. As a newcomer to Melbourne, I'll be keen to hangout, and explore the area/nightlife. That being said, I also value privacy and the need to feel 'at home' and comfortable in living situations. I am looking for two or three housemates (preferably female). I value open communication, shared housework (roster perhaps?) and tidy shared living areas. Feel free to message me if you're looking to start a share house or in need of a flatmate - would love to meet you!
I'm a first year ANU student who is looking for a new place to stay. I'm respectful and will always keep common areas clean. I love to watch movies and tv shows but am also a lover of books. I take my studies pretty seriously so when I have assignments I will pretty much be locked up in my room procrastinating. However, other than that I am quite sociable and enjoy a good chat with my roommates. I'm a pretty chill person and not much really gets to me that easily. Did I mention my love of animals? I seriously love animals. I had two dogs, a cat, a couple turtles, a hamster... In other words, I have no problems with pets. Also, I grew up in a bunch of different places (Malaysia and Japan just to name a couple) so I'm also really into traveling and learning about new cultures. Actually I myself am half Japanese and Australian so culture is one of my "things" I guess. If you're a friendly, inviting person who is open to living with a laid back person like me, please don't hesitate to contact me because I think we'd make perfect housemates!
Hi, I'm Cameron, 24, and I'm moving up to Canberra to start a new job. I've lived in Melbourne my whole life, and in the past, I've been at uni studying chemistry and graduated with my Masters. The two things I spend the most resources would be travel and music. I like getting outdoors too, and always up for trying new things. I stay on top of mess, and do actually like cooking. I consider myself a social person, but considerate of others' space.
My name is Brendan, I am 19, currently studying at the ANU (Development Studies and International Security). I used to live in France and have traveled quite a bit! I currently live in university accommodation but am very much looking forward to having my own space, as I'm not an avid every Thursday night drinker like most people in college haha! I work part-time at BWS and at the Canberra Olympic Pool.
I work full time in government like most people in this town. I enjoy cycling, bars, road trips, and smashed avo brunches. I'm clean, easygoing and respectful of others' space. All the good things you want in a housemate. Active outside the house but am always happy to chat over dinner or a glass of wine! Available to move in anytime between now and November 13!
I'm a 28 year old female professional. I'm sociable, considerate and neat and tidy. Love animals. Grew up in and currently living in Wollongong, NSW so will be at the beach most weekends! Love sunshine and music, shopping, good food and good wine. :)

Looking for a housemate to share a light-filled, spacious, 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Kingston. This apartment is furnished (with the exception of the vacant room), faces north (so plenty of light and sunshine), and has two balconies. The room is very big, with built in wardrobes and at the opposite end of the apartment to the other bedroom.
My flatmate is to Sydney, which makes me really sad! So now I am looking for someone to rent her room. The apartment has two large bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The apartment is furnished - and I have great style ;) The vacant bedroom has an inbuilt double wardrobe and can fit a queen bed. Electricity would be shared and there is unlimited internet available. Also, there is ample parking space available in the complex. I am an easy going and sociable female public servant in my late 20s who doesn't mind the occasional chat over a glass of wine, and I'm slightly addicted to shopping! As it is just the 2 of us living here, in looking for someone who is normal and we get on! The apartment is centrally located to multiple conveniences with a bus stop 50m away at the Kingston Shops. There is a major supermarket only 15 minute walk away and the Kingston Foreshore / Brodburger is also close by. The Parliamentary Triangle is in walking distance and Civic/Braddon is less than 10 minutes drive. All the happenings of the inner south with a central location! Feel free to call or email me to organise a time to check the place out!
We’re two professional and easy going guys (one mid 20s the other early 30s) looking for someone to move into the third bedroom that has become available. We’re both fairly active (including some early morning wake ups) but also enjoy relaxing, whether that be watching sport or chatting over a drink. The room will be available from Saturday 12 November and you will need to complete a rental application form for the agent and be willing to go on the lease. The apartment is located on Printers Way (directly across from Norgrove Park), ground floor with direct street access and is no more than a few minutes stroll from Kingston Foreshore and no more than 10 minutes up to the Kingston shops. With everything going on down at the Foreshore (and with what’s to come) you’re definitely in an ideal location. The room is sizeable (for Canberra standards) with three built-in robes and you’ll be sharing the main bathroom with one other. The living area is huge with a decent size kitchen (plenty of cupboard space) and a big courtyard with direct street access. There is plenty of street parking for your car as well – no undercover parking is available. The apartment, apart from your bedroom, is already furnished. As for the cost, the room is currently $220 per week ($955.95 per calendar month) and Foxtel/internet is $55 per month. Utilities (gas/power) are averaging around $200 per quarter (combined). Rental bond will be $880.
I am seeking a person to share a two bedroom flat. The flat outside the room for rent is furnished, with quality kitchen appliances, washer and dryer and a heating and cooling air-conditioner. The flat also has access to a pool. Located within minutes of the Kingston shops and foreshore in a leafy green suburb. A bus stop is within minutes from the door and service is approximately every 15 minutes weekdays.
Looking to see what currently available and if there are some people out there roughly around my age looking for a room mate! Okay to move out at any time, just trying to find the right people to live with :) Not looking to live too far away from the city or Belconnen and not looking to live on the Southside either (sorry peeps) I work full time as a PA and enjoy sports, online gaming, music, gigs, hanging out at home and good food and drink! Please feel free to message me if I suit what you are looking for in a flat mate :)
Hi I'm Ori, I'm been living in Canberra for little while and looking for a new place. I'm a clean, neat and tidy person, great cook and non-smoker with a professional full time job and can move in straight away. I'm looking for a nice place with great people. Really social and outgoing, I would love to live with similar people who might watch a movie together sometimes or share a glass of wine in the evenings occasionally! Message me on here and I'll get back to you.
Hi there, I'm looking to move in to a share house where I could rent a large bedroom with either an ensuite or a private bathroom. I love all animals and would love to live with someone who has pets, except cats (I'm allergic) I'm a vegan and am passionate about animal rights so I would love to move into a house with someone who shares similar views to me but this isn't a must, as long as cooking isn't a shared responsibility I do not mind living with people who eat meat at all. I like to think of myself as respectful, honest and clean housemate, I'm a non-smoker and rarely a social drinker. I work full time in the Public Service and when I'm not working I like to spend time with family and friends, watch Netflix, and play Xbox. If this sounds you have anything suitable for me please contact me and we can discuss things further :)
Howdy, IT professional, from Brisbane, FIFO, looking for good house to share. Am house trained and a happy chappie. Enjoy getting down to the beach and camping (Tathra, Bermagui) on the weekends I don't go home. Long term contract, enjoys social time and also respectful and enjoys quiet times as well.
I'm Elson, 27, from Taiwan, and gonna be ANU student from next semester. Now, I'm holding Working Holiday VISA for being familiar with Canberra in advanced, also I have a very stable PT job just right in Canberra Centre. I'm very easy going. Mostly, I would only play guitar and watch street dance video while being at home. Please inbox me if you think I could be a good member in your house.
I'm a 26yr old Female and will be studying my Masters part-time and working full-time so will be quite busy during the week, but on the weekends I enjoy socialising with friends or just staying in and relaxing over a glass of wine. I'm super easy to get along with and am a pretty relaxed person in nature.
