Hi I'm looking to share share short term from Jan 6 to March 31 with a possible extension to June and hopefully, beyond. So, I'm looking for somewhere with: A) month to month contract B) six month lease with a potential break lease at April 2, or C) a sublet I'm an APS worker and I've been spending my weekends chillin' and checking out Canberra's art scene. I like it here! There's so much on! The basic stuff: My budget is 250-300per week ex-bill's. I'm happy to share an apartment with one person or a house with two. Please only message me if your listing is within the suburbs I've specified, Cheers. Other good stuff: I'm not a party person and tend to keep quiet and friendly around the home. I'm a second-hand book store and tea-chat kind of person. I also like hikes and overgrown gardens. I'm tidy and will keep the house fresh and clean. I am a Queensland ring-in so this chilly spring weather has been a surprise! I will happily have a preemptive chat with you about heating and elect bills in case I'm around long enough to need it next year. One other thing: if you happen to be offering a) town a house b) a ground floor unit b) anywhere that's pet friendly and you've always dreamt of sharing your pad a handsome house panther...I know a guy. Cheers, Rose
Lovely 3 bedroom house in a great location. Close to Manuka and Kingston. Excellent kitchen with gas stove. Two living areas in open plan but separated. Room has large mirrored built in robes, ceiling fan and large window overlooking the backyard. Bathroom, shared with one other female, is spacious and has separate bath and shower. Double garage and plenty of on street parking.
Looking for a room in a friendly share house. I work full time at the National Museum. An outdoorsy type that likes music, books, bouldering and adventuring with friends. Like to cook, movie nights and chatting over tea.
Temporary stay in a private room until the First of Feb next year. I am going home for Christmas (Netherlands) so need someone to stay temporarily. Rent is negotiable :). Place is available from Wednesday the 12th of December! The property itself is a huge house, it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one is an ensuite) and this room has its own downstairs toilet. The room is definitely the largest in the house and has a large wardrobe with mirrors on the rolling doors. It also has a bed already in it that you are welcome to use - it’s a double with a mattress. An Ikea purchase made on 6 months ago! The location is great as well right near parliament and other government departments - if you’re studying and/or don’t have a car there is a bus at the end of the street that goes straight through parliament towards ANU. The whole trip takes between 15-20 minutes. I’m going back home for Christmas (Netherlands) until Feb first but there is two housemates (one is a doctor and one is a pharmacist) who are both really nice people. Electricity and internet are shared, which came to about $150 each for the last quarter. Internet is $20 each a month for VDSL. Water is included in the rent and this is a gas less property! Canberra outlet centre is about a 10 minute drive as well!
The property is a spacious 3 bedroom townhouse in the inner south of Canberra, 5 minutes down the road from Kingston/Manuka and a 15/20 minute bus ride to the city / ANU. It is a 25 minute bike ride through the leafy suburbs of Manuka and Kingston to get to the city. The house backs onto a golf course, and stays cool in the summer.
Looking for small, simple accommodation or a share house preferably with students. Preferably with good public transport. I'm currently an undergrad student at ANU going in to second year in Visual Art and Science.
ROOM The bedroom on offer is great value, cosy and with full-length mirrors. There is a shared bathroom next door with your own basin. HOUSE Welcome to Whitecastle (as it says on the ] entranceway). This period home is very eccentric. The house is creative and eclectic in a great way. There are multiple living spaces including a study with open fire, 10 seater dining table (made for dinner parties). The backyard is perfect for a party, with croquet set and umpire chair and back deck for entertaining. There is also a front patio which is lovely for morning breakfast. The kitchen is super groovy, very well appointed and decked out with green tiling, European appliances and a huge double oven and gas stove. Living room with comfy couches, high-fidelity sound system and record player and lava-lamp. The bathroom is set to be renovated over christmas which will mean a beautiful new space to deck out. Cool in summer and warm in winter, this house has a double facing wood fire and gas central heating. For once you can be excited about the Canberra Winter. The house is already furnished; op-shop chic, homely industrial, cool and collected. We are super keen to keep decking it out with your help! There is a large garage for storage and a great laundry with Miele washing machine and a dryer. If you thought you couldn't find affordable sharehouse luxury in Canberra's south, you thought wrong.
I'm a full time IT guy in the public sector who has being in Canberra for about a year now. I'm pretty out and about socially but am also fond of chilling out in my room after work or having a quiet dinner and board game/TV night with friends. A few of the things I have being enjoying in Canberra is going hiking and picnicking in the national parks, I'll basically live at the snow once the season is back in and otherwise enjoy the occasional weekend down at the coast in the warmer part of the year. One of my current hobbies is seeing how much chocolate I can cram into various baked goods. I like to keep a tidy house and am looking for people who also enjoy tidiness as well as a healthy mix of sociability and privacy :)
Hi! I'm a 29 year old (Northern) Territory raised guy working full time and have been living in Canberra for 6 years. I'm an easy going person, clean and fairly tidy looking for like minded individuals to share a home as my old navy mates have been posted away and I need to find somewhere new. I enjoy socializing but also enjoy me time and will respect others in return, I am a smoker however not in or around the property. I like movies and most other forms of entertainment, cooking then testing the results on willing volunteers, or conversation over a glass of red. WHAT I CAN BRING: I've got furniture for my room however a pre-furnished room is fine, In addition if you need extra furniture, kitchen appliances, utensils etc let me know as I have most of it in storage. If you'd like to know more let me know, happy to chat or meet over a coffee, I am also happy to provide references.
Currently graduated from ANU, looking for work and a place to live as I have to move out of my student accommodation by the end of January. I am neat, quiet and keep to myself and would prefer mature respectful roommates.
Hi! I'm moving all the way from Perth and will be continuing my learning journey as an educator in Campbell. I'm an easy-going person who values other people's privacy, but is happy to join and have a chat over a meal or head out to places for brunch and dinner.
Hi there! I am looking for a private room with an en suite or private bathroom. I have to ferrets who live in a cage in my room and do not smell as the cage is cleaned regularly. I am open to keeping them outside. I would like to move into a house with trustworthy people, preferably -30yrs old. I like too live environmentally friendly and enjoy garden work and looking after pets.
Hi all, I'm a 30 y/o male public servant. I’m originally from Perth, but have been living in Canberra continuously since Feb 2017. I'm a friendly, reliable, and tidy individual. I like to read, keep fit and active. I'm also an able hand about the place (or at least I think so). I cook, clean, sew and craft (when I have the time). I'm more than happy to answer any questions, you might have. Regards, Michael
My hobbies include roller derby and drag/burlesque performance. I work retail full time. If you have pets I will love them. I’ve lived all over Aus but call Canberra my home. Would love a housing arrangement that’s community based, but flexible on that- will respectfully live in a house of lone wolves.
Okay so a bit about myself, I have lived in share housing for almost 3 years now, so I definitely know the drill. I’m 19 years old, I work as a dental assistant in Manuka. For fun I like to hang out with friends, eating, movies, drinks all that kinda stuff! I do keep to myself quite a bit when it comes to share houses, just because I’m normally so tired from long hours. So you’ll normally find that I like to be in my room chilling out watching Netflix. I guess what I’m really looking for in a home is just a clean environment and house mates that are okay with me being antisocial sometimes or hiding away watching Netflix haha. Lauren x
Looking for a quiet place to live! I'm a grad with PM&C who enjoys hiking, rock climbing, Netflix and being a respectful and pleasant housemate to all who surround me. I've lived in plenty of sharehouses before and I ALWAYS replace the toilet roll.
Our names are Amelia and Rachelle and we are looking at existing rooms in a share house or team ups. We have been living together for a while now but have recently found out that our landlord is selling. We are open to a number of areas in Canberra with a preference to the Inner North, Inner South and Central Belconnen. We are also flexible with rent depending on the size and bathroom situations, but ideally $250 pw per person. We are both young professionals working in the city. We love getting outdoors, having a wine after a long week and always happy to chat. We respect privacy and personal space, are clean and pull out weight around the house. Look forward to getting in touch :)
*The dog in the photo is not mine, doesn't come with me* I am very low maintenance and easy going. Happy to have a chat and share a meal or a drink but understand boundaries and personal space and everyone's need for these. I'm happy to chip in with jobs and help out around the place and always clean up after myself. I'm a positive, happy (without being over the top) person to be around.
Hi there, My lovely current home has been sold, so I'm looking for somewhere new to move around early January. Happy to start a new house (I have furniture) or move in somewhere else. I moved from WA a couple of years ago. I'm a public servant, and also studying so am fairly busy. I love hiking, diving, camping, holidays in Indonesia and swimming. Some nice to haves: a little bit of storage space for some camping stuff, space for pots for a small herb garden, parking (street or off-street), and close to nice walking areas (the lake or bushland). Thanks :)
