Hi! We’re Juan (32) and Daniela (30), a married couple from Argentina. We arrived in Melbourne in July and are currently staying in a temporary rental, but now we’re looking for something more permanent, at least 6 months, but ideally 12 months or longer. A little about us: Daniela is a qualified biochemist who recently started a Master’s in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology at La Trobe University (Bundoora campus). She is also working part-time. I, Juan, am a carpenter and currently working full-time as a cabinet maker. We don’t have children or pets. We’re looking for a comfortable, cosy place just for the two of us, ideally a studio, one-bedroom flat, granny flat or apartment. Our preferred areas are Thornbury, Northcote, Preston, Reservoir or Kingsbury, ideally with access to tram 86 or good public transport to La Trobe. We can also provide references from previous landlords (as we have been renting while doing regional work in different parts of Australia), as well as proof of funds or anything else you may require for your peace of mind. I’d like to find a place that is clean, and quiet. I work well with having my own responsibilities so I don’t mind a cleaning roster. I have 2 indoor cats, i hope you don’t mind the presence of a litter box, cat food and toys, and own a couch you don’t mind claws on. I’d like a peaceful, non judgmental space where I can relax and be myself. I am quite independent, though I do like watching tv/movies together at times too for some social time occasionally. The main thing is you are a person whom is easy to get along with, you are flexible and helpful and not passive aggressive and you help with cleaning the main areas and you are willing to close doors behind you so the cats don’t go outside. Windows with security flu screens are a must. I do like taking one of my cats outside on a leash so some greenery around or back yard is needed too. Security and safety of myself and my cats is my top priority. Hoping to find something relatively long term if the fit is right. Prefer going a lease or at least a written agreement signed by you of when me and my cats are moving in as we don’t want to end up homeless during the 30 days notice I’m required to give at my current place. *I do not own a car so needs to be close to a good public transport system. **I have my own furniture including bedroom furniture, fridge, washing machine, recliner. Would prefer a place with storage and queen bedroom (preferably) that is empty so can use my own bedroom furniture. I work from home so I need desk space and fast speed NBN or Cable internet connection.
