Ian is 27, from Scotland and has been in Australia since February 2017. He is a roof tiler, works full time and has a job lined up for when we arrive! Gabby is 29, is just about to graduate nursing and has accepted a position at a hospital to start in early February next year. Originally from Melbourne but has been living on the Sunshine Coast since March 2017 for a little break and to study. We also have a little cat called Pippa, who is very friendly, cuddly and quiet. She will probably head butt you for pats, but other then that, she's pretty chill. (She will for sure stalk you if you're eating ham though) We are both very easy to live with, very tidy and aware that we are sharing a space with other people and to be respectful of that. We also get down with wine and socialising but just not every weekend anymore ... you know .. saving and that. We are moving around the 15th of December as that is when our current share house lease ends, so would be in Melbourne a few days after that! PS. I tried to upload a photo of the two of us but it cropped me out so you have a lovely close up of Ian and it won't let me change it lol. Apparently, it likes him more than me.
Awesomely homey and cozy 2 bedroom townhouse in Fitzroy North located on a quiet back street. Location really is excellent with a short walk from the action of Brunswick Street in one direction and the calmness of Edinburgh Gardens in the other. Located just between two trams (96 and 11) you'll never have any trouble getting where you need to go. You'll also get to live with the cutest cat on earth, so can't get better really.
I am looking forward to finding my next accommodation, a kind home with friendly people. I am a friendly, quiet lifestyle person who enjoys working with people in customer service and am working towards selling my hand arts. My interests vary from movies and books, day walks in nature, heading into city to explore art/food and relaxing gardens, drawing/painting small works. I like a bit of space sometimes to myself, other times like to chat, balanced in life like that. Am thinking of getting a bicycle, explore the bike paths of Melbourne. Really loving spring to get pictures and inspiration for my artworks. Look forward to meeting my new housemates :o)
Hi There, I am relocating from London to Melbourne mid October so looking for a room in nice place close central. Ideally sharing with 1or 2 girls. Somewhere that is clean and relaxed. Open to neighbourhoods but want to be close to transport, and have some nice coffee shops, restaurants nearby.
We have shared houses and flats in many places and for many years with many kinds of people. We have lived in castles and cabins, caretaking big and small houses and gardens on two continents and four different countries. I am a retired gardener/caretaker and my partner is a textile artist. We have both worked with students young and old and appreciate both city and country living. At present we live on Kangaroo Island. We want to move to Melbourne to be near our grandchild who lives in what was the Old Gold Chocolate Factory in Gore Street, Fitzroy. So we are keen to share a living space and not disturb anyone else's, enjoying our own company and that of others as and when it is mutually appropriate. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hi there, I am a freelance designer and a final year design student at RMIT. I like to live clean, simple, and quiet. That being said, I am always up for a drink and chat! If I'm not at uni or my studio I'm probably out taking pictures.
Hi! 👋 I’m moving to Melbourne at the end of October from Adelaide. I’ll be working full time in Parkville. I’m hoping to team up with an awesome person or two, but also open to moving into an existing share house. I tick the usual boxes - I pay my rent and bills on-time/early, I’m considerate of others, and tidy up after myself. I come with a whole heap of house stuff, including fridge and other kitchen stuff, washing machine, couch and dining table/chairs. I also have two awesome cats, Gigi (6) and Socks (5). Gigi is super affectionate and loves everyone (even complete strangers) and Socks loves to do her own thing. I’ve had them in many rentals before with no issues. I’ll stop writing my essay here - but if you think we might hit it off as house mates please get in touch! :)
Been in Melbourne since January (relocating from Perth for a Job.) Looking for genuine housemates and friends. I am an extroverted- introvert, therefore I like to be sociable, but I also require some downtime and will respect your privacy. Looking forward to exploring Melbourne and going with the flow. Looking at moving out by mid-November (at the latest due to lease expiry and wanting to try living in a different part of the city)
Great room with your own bathroom in a two storey flat in Fitzroy North. $295 per week ($1282 per calendar month) I’ve sadly had to move away from this amazing place for work so I’m looking for someone to take my bright, sunny room. The flat is a two-bedroom two-bathroom two-storey stunner in Fitzroy North, close to Smith and Brunswick Streets and Edinburgh Gardens. The whole building is only a year old so everything is in amazing condition, and there’s a great balcony. You’ll be sharing with lovely Kajal who works in health care (so can sometimes work random shifts). The room has a massive built in mirrored wardrobe, and your private bathroom has a bath and shower. The current lease ends in January, so I am offering the room at minimum until then, after which if you’d like to stay you will have to go onto the lease. The room is unfurnished and available 28 October.
I am super easy going and really want to meet new people. I keep common areas clean and try to be as respectful to flat mates as I can. I am from the US so I am coming here knowing no one so anyone who is fun and friendly would be nice. I am working full time in Melbourne as well though so if you are more introverted that’s okay too
Hi, I'm Giuliana, looking for a longer-term place to call home in a sharehouse with another 2 or more people. About me: During the week I work 8.30-5, 4 days per week at a university library, and spend 2-3 nights a week at yoga. Aside from yoga, I love hiking, camping and nature connection, travel, cooking (and eating!), motorbike riding, spending quality time with friends and family, veggie and herb gardening; so would love a place with a decent sized backyard with a veggie garden, or the space for one as well as for composting, all the better if there are housemates who'd like to share in this as I've still got a lot to learn! About what I’m seeking: There are all sorts of people I'd enjoy living with. I'm a thoughtful, open-minded, respectful, grounded, tidy, sustainability-focused person looking to share with other gentle, caring people with similar values; and amongst all of that sharing a healthy dose of humour is most welcome. I'm looking for a longer-term share house (which is why I’ve written so much!) so it's important to me to find a place with people where we can create a healthy household dynamic; which can only really come through clarity in communication. While this can be difficult at times and we’re all learning, it’s super important for me and the people I share with to be willing to try to communicate openly, gently and respectfully to the best of our abilities. I have a fulfilling social life, however I'd really like to live with others who are more than just people I live in the same house with; I'd like to share communal meals and chats regularly. However I also need alone time, and am respectful of other people’s need for that also. I'm currently used to preparing my own meals, but am very open and welcoming to communal living, food sharing, and perhaps also composting. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I rarely eat meat and I've happily lived with vegans and vegetarians before. About the house: In terms of the house itself, some things I’d really like (though not essential, unless there’s none of them) are: - Gas stove top (for cooking! Electric or induction are a bit limiting) - Undercover parking for my motorbike (I have a cover for it, but much easier to just park under something) - A backyard that gets some sunlight and has, or has space to grow herbs and veggies (even if it’s just concrete that you can put plant pots on) - An older house with character, with larger rooms and more natural light (I’m not a big fan of those townhouses going up all over the place) - I’m particularly interested in moving to Thornbury, Preston, Fairfield, Northcote, North Fitzroy (not necessarily in the order), but surrounding suburbs like Ivanhoe, Alphington, Brunswick and Coburg may also be suitable. I have a mish-mash of furniture including a fridge (oldish), and a washing machine (newish). I'm willing to shed what's not needed though as most of it I've collected along the way from family and friends. I have some lovely indoor plants which I'd love to share with my new housemates as some of them are little big for the bedroom! I don’t have a particular date I need to be out of my current place by, but I’d ideally like to have at least 3 weeks notice so my existing housemate has a chance to find a new sharer also. Would love to hear from you if you think I'd suit your share home.
I am 22 years old, Brazilian and currently obtaining my Master's degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation in the Netherlands (University of Groningen). I will be in Melbourne to do a 6-month research project at the University of Melbourne (from mid-November 2018 until the end of May 2019). I am a clean, organized and respectful person. I used to live in an international dorm with more than 60 people and now I live in a shared house with 5 girls and one guy, so I am used to sharing common spaces and cleaning after myself. I am also used to sharing expenses and following a cleaning schedule to maintain the house tidy. I enjoy talking and getting to know people and other cultures, having dinner together and going out to party. Living in the Netherlands, I got used to cycling since we do everything with bikes here, and I love it! I also like to play board games and I LOVE to watch series and movies. I guarantee to be an awesome, energized and respectful housemate, always up to making plans together and keeping the house tidy. Cheers, Tiago :)
Hi lovely people! What am I looking for? - Somewhere fun to stay with awesome housemates - Looking to stay for either a few months or for the long haul with the option of subletting my room when I go off for more than a month at a time (e.g. going to europe sometime this year) - Would be great to have outdoors or sports loving housemates that enjoy things like climbing, cycling, hiking, tennis or whatever else - A backyard would be amazing Why would you want me as a housemate? - I'm out of the house most of the time, working, I have things on most evenings and I'm often out for days or longer at a time on outdoorsy adventures - When I'm around, I like to be social, have a chat, share a beer or a wine, a meal, a movie or anything else happening - Got plenty of board games, and always keen on games nights - I have a car with plenty of space and a towball to help cart around big things - I enjoy working on projects around the house, and keen to do some gardening (by way of experimentation!) Frequently asked questions: - I was born here. Lived in NZ for awhile, and now back in Melbourne - I'm house trained. I'm not a neat freak, but believe things work nicer when dishes are cleaned soon after they are used (or the morning after if it's near bed time), objects are not blocking the walkways, and lawns are mowed - No dramas whatsoever about anyone's race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation - Left leaning, not that others need to be, but we'd probably get along better if we all were :) What you should know that might be an issue: - I would like a place where couchsurfers or visitors (anyone's) are welcome time to time - I like dumpster diving and won't hesitate to join anyone else willing or invite others - I'm mostly vegetarian but don't care what others eat / don't eat. Happy to be vegan in the house if others are
I'm originally from Brisbane, and relocated to Melbourne last year. I work for the State Government in a full-time, professional role in an area that I'm passionate about. During the week after work, I mostly like to spend some down-time at home and chill out in front of the TV. On weekends, I love getting out and about in Melbourne and beyond - exploring, going to special events, and catching up with friends. Always up for adventures, new experiences, and robust conversations! I'm genuine, honest, and easy-going, and appreciate the same in others. I love beautiful buildings and spaces, and would love a spacious apartment or house with some character (but also some heating and cooling!). I'd like to be close to public transport and to have grocery stores, good food, and car sharing facilities close by. I'm mad about indoor plants, and have some furniture to bring along with me. I'm kind, respectful, independent, genuine, honest, easy-going, and a good communicator - and I'm keen to share a place with a flatmate who has these same qualities.
I'm a 29 year old Event Manager, working for a group of venues on Southbank. I moved from the UK 3 years ago, and sponsored through work. I'm fairly outgoing, active and always down for a chat and some beers, chill watching a movie at home or hitting some bars. I respect others privacy and always happy to chill on my own in my room when the mood takes.
I'm a Londoner working as a freelance music events professional, looking to make a new home in Melbourne for the summer. I'm hoping to work through the Australian festival and outdoor music event season - something which has taken me to Glastonbury and the Croatian Coast in the past. I'm a huge fan of music of all genres and I am always trying to go out and support the local scene. Whenever I'm not working I am nearly always travelling somewhere, somehow, on some ridiculous budget, going out to watch music, cycling, going on hiking/nature weekends and hanging out with friends. I've lived in plenty of house shares in London, Cape Town and around Europe, so I can easily adapt and fit into any space. I prefer to live in a social, positive, clean environment with open-minded people where I can have a laugh and maybe polish off a bottle of wine or two. I'm planning to get a bike when I arrive in Melbourne so I'd like somewhere secure to store that. I'm an extremely liberal person and I'm attracted to people of all genders - you must be an accepting, inclusive household.
Relaxed mature tenant (50) that enjoys both privacy or sharing a bit of time with housemates if mutual. I'm open to different lifestyles and most opinions and I enjoy cooking and having a few drinks. I like to keep things clean and tidy without being pedantic about it. I have a car but also enjoy using my bike for transport and fun. I sometimes go away for cycling weekends. I'm open to both short and long term options if suitable.
I have a lot of plants, am house proud and clean up after myself. I'm generally pretty quietand easy going but I'm always up for a chat and a drink. LGBTQIA+ friendly. I'm negotiable on the move in date, ideally I'd move in within the next month or so
Hi! My name is Malisa. I am a 29 year old architect from Perth. I have been living and working in Melbourne for the past year and a half after relocating from two years in London. I am friendly, tidy and sociable and have lived in two great share houses for several years each previously. I enjoy having a glass of wine and chilling/chatting with housemates but am happy to do my own thing as well. In my spare time I like going out to cook, get outdoors, see exhibitions, live music as well as going to a spontaneous life drawing or yoga class. I am ideally looking for a room in a friendly, fun and clean share house around the Princes Hill, Fitzroy, Carlton or Brunswick East area from the early November onwards! I also would be interested in teaming up with some other people and creating a new share house of 3-4 people Thanks Malisa
Hey there! We’re Issy & Phil and we’re 2 brits who have been in Melbourne since July. Sadly, our contract for our sharehouse in Abbotsford is coming to an end, so we are looking for somewhere to move into in November, for about 6/7/8 months. A bit about me: I'm Issy and 24. I’m friendly, fun, open minded and love living in Melbourne and exploring the city. I love travelling, art galleries, good food (eating and cooking it), live music, socialising with friends, photography, yoga, skiing and keeping busy! I've been doing an exchange for a few months at Melb Uni for my Master’s in Architecture, which ends in a few weeks & then I’m hoping to get a job in an architect office here. A bit about Phil: Phil is a positive, laid back and fun guy to be around. Phil loves playing guitar, reading all kinds of books, being outdoors, surfing, trying new things & music. Phil is currently working in hospo, office work and volunteers at Lentil as Anything! Having lived in various flatshares over the past few years (I have lived with 18 people in Amsterdam and Stockholm!) we can say that we are easy to live with, as we're clean, respectful and easy to get along with. We do not smoke or have pets (but we love animals). We're both veggie (and Issy is Vegan). Thank you so much for your time and we look forward to hearing from you! Issy & Phil
I'm clean, pay bills on time and am easy going. I work full time as a paramedic. I enjoy catching up with housemates over a drink/meal etc. I do come with a friendly cat called Archie who enjoys the odd pat but mostly does his own thing.
