This is Adria, a 28 years old guy from Barcelona and I just moved to Australia. I’m Telecom Engineer by UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya). I would like to find a private room in a shared house. On my free time I like watch TV Series on Netflix and listen music. I also like to spend time with my flatmates and have a chat with a glass of wine or play some board games. I like cook and I know most of traditional dishes from Spain so maybe I could do some delicious dishes and share them with you 🙂 I have been sharing apartments from 5 years ago, that means I know the basic cohabitation rules. I would like to visit your place and meet you! I look forward to hearing from you, Thanks in advanced
I'm a 28 year old programming language designer working in Melbourne! I'm friendly, quiet, and easy to live with, I pay my bills on time. I have a goofy sense of humor, appreciate a good coffee or beer, and am a lover of art, drawing, indie games, computer science and mathematics. Don't mind a chat, and being friendly and social, but I like to balance that with quiet time as well! Looking for a new place that is in a walkable area, and not too far from town. I have a bed, desk, and a bookcase of books, so I'll be on the lookout for an unfurnished room. Big fan of pets, and will love them if you have them!
Hi! My name is Vesa, I'm from Finland and I’m studying towards a master’s degree in music education at The University of Melbourne. I’m a peaceful person and easy to live with. My favourite hobbies are music (obviously), sports, such as jogging, cycling and swimming and I love hiking and outdoor life. Student parties aren’t my passion, I’d prefer a walk in a park or a chill board game evening. I’m tidy and systematic, and I like to keep the places clean and things in order. My studying and living are supported financially by Finnish Government, so you can be sure I’ll pay rents and bills on time. :)
Hi! I'm Alex, I'm 25, and a Brit moving to Melbourne for work. I'm just finishing up with my PhD in the UK and starting a new job as a researcher in mental health. I'm looking for a room in a house share ideally in Brunswick/ Carlton/ Fitzroy/ North Melbourne areas. I'm easy going, up for a laugh and keen to socialise as I'm new to the area. However, I'll also be busy with work and I'm happy with time on my own. I like going for drinks, dancing, reading, a good Netflix binge, and yoga. I like being outdoors and I'll be keen to explore and soak up some of the Melbourne sunshine. I'm looking for likeminded flatmates who are keen to share somewhere that's more of a home than just a place to sleep. I'm clean and tidy and will treat the house, and my flatmates, with respect. If you think I might be suitable for your house share please feel free to contact me for more information. Looking forward to hearing from you! Alex
Hi I’m Ciara, I have recently finished my undergrad in performing arts. I currently work full time as an Intergration aide at a primary school in the city and aslo studying my masters of education part time. I’m bubbly and enjoy socialising, I don’t take myself too seriously and love to have a good laugh. I also love to relax, watch movies and go out for brunch. I drink coffee like there’s no tomorrow and love a cheeky wine or anything with gin. I’m very easy going and a positive person who is clean and tidy. I would love to hangout during the week and weekends but really enjoy alone time. I love dogs and will stop in the street to pat them. Especially if it’s a Golden Retriver. I’m probably looking to share with one or two other people and I’m very flexible in terms of location and move it date! Hopefully chat soon!
I'm a sydney sider studying Bachelor of Design at Melbourne Uni. I would consider myself as a fun outgoing guy, who loves to travel and meet new people and experience new things.
Easygirl, energetic Italian girl. Looking for a nice tidy and clean place to live in for a while with friendly roommates. I love travelling, surfing (but I'm not really good at the moment), chill, acting, live music and food.
Hi there future flattie! I'm a PhD student moving from NZ on the 16th February to study Pharmaceutical Research at WEHI so am looking for a sharehouse within a short tram ride to Parkville. I'm super excited to explore Melbourne and hopefully live with some great housemates/friends! A bit about me - I'm easy-going, tidy and respectful of others' space. Not much of a party-goer but I do love a good chat over a wine. I love keeping fit but definitely appreciate some good comfort food and love cooking Mexican! I'm sadly allergic to cats so cannot live with cat parents :( but am a HUGE dog lover! Flick me a message if you think we would make great flatmates. I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi there! I'm an international student at the University of Melbourne, doing MSs of Construction Management in my second year. I'm Armenian raised in Russia. Have lots of cultural backgrounds to share! Passionate about languages, now speaking English, Armenian, Russian and currently learning Chinese and Spanish. My life goal is to speak 10 different ones. I consider myself as a mature and hard-working person. Always clean up everything after myself and respect others. I believe that my freeness ends where other persons begin. I am easy going and positive, with high life standards. Sometimes need time for myself though (kinda introvertish). I love European and Asian cuisines, exceptionally crazy about Italian. (no smelly nor messy cooking) Oh, btw, I have an awesome red motorbike, so grab a helmet and hop on for a windy ride! I will also need off-street parking for it (usually it's free for motorbikes) If you've read till this point and think that we share common values and interests, I would be happy to share a living space with you! The stay length is flexible. Feel free to drop a message!
Currently seeking a relaxed and friendly environment to live in while studying a Master of Creative Writing, Publishing, and Editing at Melbourne Uni and working casually as an event labourer. I'm originally from Daylesford, but have just returned from a year of working in Berlin and keen to find some stability in a comfortable home. Before travelling I was living in Preston with three friends and have had positive experiences in that as well as all previous share houses. I am a tidy but easy-going person, capable of all the standard domestic chores and always prompt to pay rent/bills. I am content to keep my own company and occupy myself with sedentary hobbies but am also more than happy to chill out and debrief at the end of the day over a cup of tea or a few beers. I also like to cook and don't mind making enough for everybody. Let me know if you're interested.
I'm an postgrad Engineering student looking for a place with independent, respectful people. I want to enjoy having a chat but also respecting each other's space.
A little bit about me, I am from the Caribbean and love to cook food from back home! I am 24 years old and I am passionate about brewing beer, diy projects, cooking good food, live music and anything to do with the outdoors. I am looking for a house to make my home where I can meet people and become part of the fam. I have lived in a share house for the last 4 years in Canada so I know the importance of being clean and respectful of people’s space. I am coming to Melbourne to do an exchange semester and then possibly to stay and look for work. I have one more semester of my civil engineering degree which I will finish at the university of Melbourne. Hit me up with any questions you have about me. Cheers, Louis.
"That's one clean room!" — Jordan Peterson. "Is this a house for ants!?" — Derek Zoolander. "Nice crack den." — A close friend. "So I guess it's just Pink Floyd on repeat then?" — Every guest ever. Okay... okay... enough fooling around. Here is an honest description of our place so that you don't rock up with over-hyped expectations that most listings on here seem to love providing. Pros: - Really cool little place with character. - Rent is pretty damn cheap for the area ($125 / week). - Good people! - Surrounded by nature with a park and bike trail next door. - Very close walk (<3 min) to the tram stop (The 96, West Preston), and about a 5 minute walk to the 11 (East Brunswick). - NBN is just about to be installed on the 28th. - Very relaxing vibe. We have some cool red-lights that we put on at night. - Lots of fun conversations, laughter and podcast watching. - 10 minute walk to the mainstreet in Fitzroy North (Piedimontes, Eddie Gardens, Library, $6 pints at the Parkview etc. etc.) - The room you'll be staying in is furnished. - Storage room under the house. Cons: - I'll be honest, the place is small as fuck but in my experience all the above makes up for that. - Thin walls (draw your own conclusions). - Only one bathroom which is close to both the bedrooms. - Sometimes there's a really annoying barking dog opposite the apartment block. This seems to be far less frequent recently :) - Poor temperature regulation. It's usually really cold or really hot inside... first world problem ultimately but certainly a downside (we have heaters, an aircon and fan to make it a little more tolerable). An important note is that this is a short term stay for around 3 months, potentially longer but no more than 6. I will be going on an adventure during this time and want somebody to hold down the fort. The good news is that it's all furnished so you can pretty much just rock up and you're good to go. My current housemates, Hanna and Adam plan to move at some stage soon though so there is the possibility you can take their room when I'm back, but no promises. That's all I can think of. If you're interested, please shoot me a message and organise a time to come check the place out! :)
The apartment is in a complex consisting of about 80 apartments. It is conveniently located on Nicholson St in Fitzroy North, with easy access to the 96 tram (2 minute walk), the 1, 6, and 11 trams (about 10 minute walk each) that will take you to the City in about 10-15 minutes. Melbourne Uni and RMIT are easily accessible using the 1 or 6 trams (about 10 minutes away). The neighbourhood is really nice with plenty of cafe and restaurants, and also close to the Edinburgh Gardens. The complex is safe, well maintained, and the neighbours are super friendly. We have a nice central courtyard, BBQ area, and a pool. We also have a carpark in the complex with a dedicated spot for us (currently unused). Your room is the bigger of the two bedrooms in the apartment and comes with a built-in wardrobe, but otherwise unfurnished. (However, my housemate is selling basic furnishing, i.e. a double mattress and a small desk, for $100). The room size is approximately 3.6 m x 2.5 m, not counting the area taken by the wardrobe. So, enough to fit even a king size bed. We split the utilities evenly (internet, gas, and electricity), with an average total of around $25 (per person, per week). The internet plan that we are on is the NBN50 (42-ish Mbps) with unlimited data.
Little bit about myself, I'm 27, a chef, I enjoy staying active and live a pretty busy lifestyle. Currently I live in Brisbane but was living in Melbourne for 2 years and looking to move back in mid March. I've lived in share houses for about 6 years , so I know the drill. I'm super easy going, enjoy socialising and meeting new people.
Hi there. I'm looking for a share house in Melbourne while working there on a working holiday visa. I'd like to find a house with flatmates who like to socialize and want to take advantage of living in the city. I will be working in either hospitality or admin in Melbs, but I also own a digital marketing consultancy so work remote a lot of the time too (and I'm happy to give any tips to anyone looking to do something similar to fund traveling!). I'm originally from Washington DC but went to university in New York City and then lived in Wellington, NZ and Hanoi, Vietnam for a yearish each. I've lived with flatmmates since I left DC so I know how to be respectful of space and keep things tidy. Definitely reach out with any other questions!
Hey Gang, I am beginning the process of moving back to Melbourne from Brisbane. I grew up on a farm in the north of Tassie (Gods country), then in my earlier 20's moved to Melbourne to work as a project manager. I lived in Melbourne (Carlton) for a few years and loved it there, however, in 2017 I got offered a sweet opportunity up in Brisbane in to develop a tech start up. I've done my time up here and the jobs done. I am coming back (home) to open a new office and settle back in to the Melbourne scene. (I will be travelling back an forth to Brisbane & Sydney from time to time) I'm see myself as a courteous and open minded person who enjoy's all the usual (and unusual) cultural aspects of life. I am north-side inclined, I love the sense of community + creative and colourful humans in the area. I have lived in share houses for the duration of my 20's. I understand the in's and out's of sharing a home with people and am able to communicate with, and appreciate people on all levels - this isn’t my first rodeo. Looking to make the move ASAP, my lease ends up here on 3 March. Best Oli ..
Hey! I'm from the Netherlands and am looking to live in Melbourne for a couple of months before the snowboard season starts again in June. I am looking for a house with fun, energetic, positive people in it that might be able to show me where the good parties in Melbourne are. Other than parties in my free time I like to go for a surf or a skate. I would describe myself as an outgoing, social person with a positive vibe.
Hi there, My name's Daniel, 28 year old living in Melbourne by way of Miami. I speak English and Spanish. Currently working full-time as an administrator in a call centre. I've been living with housemates for ten years and am very courteous of the shared space. I keep a low volume and always clean up after myself. During the week, I'm working by day and running errands, reading, or going to the gym at night. During the weekend I like hanging out at the park, going for a hike, checking out the op shops, or exploring a new suburb. Looking for a room in the inner suburbs, not picky on north or south side. A furnished room (aka just a bed) is preferable. Would be wanting to move in by the second week of April, until mid June. I'm laid back and happy to give you your space but also happy to do activities with housemates and socialise over a meal or drink. Although I don't have any pets, I absolutely love animals and would gladly move in to a home with pets. Message me so we can set up a meeting or skype! Danny
I’m a registered nurse living the shift work life. I’m a reasonably social creature but I like my down time too. I’m friendly, tidy, respectful and happy to share some meals/wine/chats/existential crises. Can cook! I come with baggage - a super cute cat called Morrissey. He makes cat people out of the cat averse, I promise you’ll love him. He’s an independent inside/outside cat so he’s off exploring a lot of the time (read: sleeping in the sun) (and the world is his loo so no gross litter trays). You'll barely notice him. I’ve got houseplants galore, a cool chesterfield and come fully equipped with the rest of the house stuff (but I can storage what’s not needed). I’m looking for a chilled and tidy place with a bit of space and a cool guy or girl. If there’s somewhere for a herb garden - bonus! I like all kinds of greenery. I'm pretty laid back, love the beach, hangs with friends, wining/dining, music, photography and getting about in the sunny weather. I'm also pretty tidy and keep on top of the life chores. Hopefully you're something like this too!
2 girls on exchange looking for accommodation for 4 to 5 months, starting end of February or early March. We’d love to be located in the center, near Carlton, Fitzroy or CBD. Only listings with two rooms available ! :)
