Mature, tidy and health‑conscious, with a creative streak and a sense of fun.
I’ve recently submitted my PhD in law and expect to be lecturing and tutoring at the Central Queensland University campus near Spencer Street Station, as well as other universities. I returned to study later in life and am a self‑funded retiree, having accessed my super to complete my studies. I live a calm, steady and meaningful lifestyle and appreciate a home that reflects that.
I’m clean, considerate and respectful of shared spaces. I’m more of a tea drinker than anything else, and I’m young in spirit with a genuine appreciation for spirituality and my relationship with God (or the divine, if that’s your language). I’ve done a lot of personal growth over the years and bring a calm, grounded presence to a household.
I’m also community‑minded and enjoy being involved in local creative and ecological spaces. I’ve spent time with Black Spark in Northcote and am becoming more active in Melbourne’s deep ecology movement. I enjoy yoga, kirtan, satsang and other spiritual practices that keep me connected and centred. I love nature and green spaces, and feel most at home when there’s a bit of greenery around. I also have a creative streak — I completed a creative arts diploma out of school and still enjoy writing, drama, dancing, singing, and growing veggies and flowers.
Lifestyle
Food and health are important to me. I’m a bit of a foodie — I activate and dry my own nuts, prepare kefir, and generally look after myself in a thoughtful, health‑conscious way. I mostly eat salads and vegetables (a pollotarian), so the kitchen stays simple and uncluttered.
I enjoy cycling, walking, jogging and the occasional body‑surfing trip. I also own a kayak, though Melbourne doesn’t give me many chances to use it. I love retreats, hiking (in comfortable circumstances), and seeking out small adventures. I’m social by nature, enjoy connecting with people, and often head out to explore or catch up with friends — and I appreciate having a calm home to return to.
I do need a reasonably sized room to fit my desk setup, as I use several large monitors for work and study. Beyond that, I’m pretty flexible and practical about what makes a space feel like home.
What I’m looking for
I value a home environment where people live with kindness and respect. I’m not a partier and prefer a household that feels friendly, considerate and harmonious. I’m flexible with the length of stay and happy to settle in longer‑term if it’s the right match.
