Hi! I’m relocating to Melbourne from Sydney in mid-September and looking for a room in a friendly, respectful house.

Upfront about my situation: I’m an Australian permanent resident with a background in health and science, and I’m currently applying for roles in the sector so I’ll be job-hunting for my first few weeks here rather than starting somewhere on day one. I’ve got savings set aside specifically to cover rent while I get settled, and I’m happy to pay rent in advance if that makes things easier. I’d rather say that now than have it come up awkwardly later.

Day to day I’m at the gym most mornings, then out working on applications. I’m tidy, I clean up after myself, and I’m not a big drinker or a party person more of an early night and a good coffee. That said, I’m not looking to just pass people in the hallway either. I’d like housemates I actually get to know.

What I’m after: my own room, ideally in a house of working professionals rather than students. Six months minimum, happy to stay longer. Furnished would be a bonus but isn’t essential.
Happy to do a video call before I arrive, and I’ll inspect in person as soon as I’m in Melbourne :)
