About me

Hi there!

I am putting it out into the universe that I would love to be back down Southern GC way again. I'm currently a fair distance from my usual appointments, the beach, favourite coffee shop, the farmers markets and the lifestyle I initially moved from Perth to the coast for.

I'm really missing that closeness to nature and the sense of being grounded by the trees, the wildlife and the water. The southern end of the GC is exactly the kind of setting I've been hoping to find again, a home backing onto nature (or close to it) is what catches my heart. Moving nearby would put me so much closer to the things that matter most to my day to day life.

A little about me:

I'm an easygoing, quiet, and an independent woman who has just turned 40.

I moved to the Gold Coast from Perth five years ago and spent time living in Burleigh Heads and in Palm Beach. Since moving further inland on a smaller budget, I've missed being close to nature, the beach, my small circle of close friends who are my chosen family here, and my bird's favourite vet which is currently a 50 minute drive.

I recently sold my successful business I built here on the coast (a boutique small dog only, dog daycare centre in Burleigh Heads). I have been my own boss for the past 16 years starting in WA, and since selling my business in March, I'm giving myself this year a bit of a "gap year", working part-time, studying part-time, and slowing down after wearing every hat in my businesses for so long.

These days my time is split between:

• Working as an ambassador and Food Rescue Driver permenant part time, which entails rescuing perfectly good food from Aldi and Woolworths stores that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it to local charities

• Assisting weekly as a contractor and business mentor at the dog daycare centre I recently sold, supporting the new owner and entertaining our much loved doggy clients

• Plus online studying for personal interest and growth

My days off are spent:
in nature — journaling, reading, beach walks, picnics in nature, varied work out sessions including the gym and yoga plus spending time with my four little Weiros (my feathered children) who are well travelled and love an Air BnB getaway with me!

Being an only child, it allowed me to grow up quicker than my peers, I easily created my own memories and fun, I was surrounded by mature conversations, travelled a lot and I believe these experiences have driven me to become the person I am today.

I've never shared a rental with someone before (my previous living situations were with long-term partners, over two separate 7 year + relationships), so I'll be honest — the idea is a little new for me.

What I'm looking for:

Something simple would suit me well — a converted studio/garage, granny flat or separated space with access to plumbing for a washing machine and access to a bathroom. Alternatively, a bedroom with its own little quarters with a kitchenette and bathroom would also work beautifully for me and my birdies. I have my own furniture (king bed, washing machine, dryer, fridge, couch), so I'd be bringing those with me.

Initially 6 month lease option for longer if this works for the both of us!

What you'd get as a tenant:

• Tidy and low maintenance — I keep things clean and decluttered, using only plant-based, chemical-free cleaning products (I live a pretty chemical-free lifestyle generally)

• Quiet, private, and respectful of your space and family time

• Happy to help maintain a garden if you have one, I love a veggie and herb garden!

• No smoking, no drugs, I rarely drink, nor watch TV, I have an easygoing nature

• Currently paying $350 per week, all-inclusive — I'd be looking at a similar price range this year, with room to contribute more from next year once I'm back on my feet.

• I'm happy with as much or as little involvement in each other's day to day as feels comfortable, whether that's the odd chat over coffee or simply living side by side

Please know, I'm flexible on timing — I could move within two weeks, or in two months, whatever suits you best.

I'd be genuinely happy to pay and do a one or two week trial stay first, so we can both be sure it's a good fit before committing to anything longer.

No pressure at all if this isn't something you're open to — but if you'd ever like to chat more about this, I'd
love that. Thank you for reading this far!
Warmly, Cahris
