Hello!
I am a 38 year old professional who manages a bookstore in Brisbane CBD. I work full time with weekends off. I have two indoor cats -- a ginger and a tortie -- who are incredibly affectionate once they warm up to you.
I am accustomed to living on my own, but given the universe has decided that single income earners are now second-class citizens who can only live in the slums, I've decided to throw myself at the mercy of the public. My landlord has sold; I have until July 31st to find somewhere to go, but have the freedom to move immediately. As I work in the CBD, I can live anywhere around Brisbane so long as there's easy public transport into the city.
I can comfortably afford $550 per week and have zero black marks on my rental history. I have gleaming references. I would prefer to team up with someone who has similar affordability for the reasons listed below:
- I'd prefer somewhere that has air-conditioning. I'd be willing to pay more for a room with an ensuite.
- I have a new-ish car that I'd like to be able to park undercover.
- I have many many bookshelves so will need wall space.
- I'd really prefer not to live on top of each other. With a higher budget, I'm hoping we can afford a townhouse or a house with 3-4 bedrooms and/or separate living areas.
ABOUT ME:
I am a homebody and an introvert; I work in retail so when I come home I like to lounge in front of the TV with my laptop. I love to read and would be a gamer if I had the money for it. The TV I like to binge most are sci-fi and fantasy shows. I am also a huge supporter of indulging one's inner child. I do a lot of creative writing in my spare time -- interactive roleplay via writing forums/discord.
The cats are indoor cats and are properly toilet trained. They only ever go to the toilet in their kitty litter; I buy expensive litter to eradicate odour and clean it daily.
I do like a clean house. I will do a deep clean every second weekend. Every other weekend I'll do a tidy and probably a vacuum depending on how bad the cat hair has gotten. I am mindful of the cat hair, basically. I prefer a place with a dishwasher as I cannot stand dishes left in the sink.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
Someone with similar interests. Do you like cosplay? Do you go to Supanova and do you, on occasion, enjoy a trip to Kmart? If you are a self-proclaimed nerd and if you do have gaming consoles, they would be welcome. I may be an introvert but I can be extroverted for the right people -- if you don't mind someone joining you on the couch while you watch something or us sharing nerdy hobbies in the same space, I think we'd get along.
I have no preferences regarding gender or age, though would lean toward women and queer folk.
I'd be okay with small gatherings of like-minded folk but not every single weekend. I'd like someone who's respectful of other people's space and quiet time; if you're expecting company, all I need is fair warning!
Someone who has had cats/loves cats and who would be okay with looking after them if I go away for a weekend (doesn't happen often) would be absolutely amazing.
I look forward to speaking with you!
