Mark Brooks

I am a mature agent student at Swinburne University pursuing a bachelors in Robotics & Mechatronics engineering. I am originally from Glasgow, Scotland and moved to Melbourne in 2022 as I am fortunate enough to have Australian citizenship.

I am currently taking part in a study exchange program at Luleå University in the far north of Sweden and will be returning to Melbourne on July 8th. I am hoping to have organised a space ahead of that date so I can move straight in upon my arrival.

I have also worked in hospitality for most of my adult life and will ideally have secured a part time job in a cafe or restaurant very soon after moving in. I have a huge amount of experience and a couple of fairly good connections so this will most likely happen very quickly.

The workload for my degree is pretty massive and I will spend most of my time either studying or working but I am a very friendly and easy going individual who does not struggle to carry a conversation or interact with people.

I consider myself quite organised and tidy and would prioritise some degree of order. I have had the chaotic party share house experience and can safely confirm it is not what I am looking for.

Hobbies wise, I am a guitarist and like to go bouldering when my schedule isn't enormously hectic. I love to cook and will do so regularly, a nice kitchen is a big plus. I also really enjoy video games and the occasional tabletop/role-playing/card game, general nerd stuff.

I have lead a very active social life up until my 30s and used to enjoy going out and partying quite a bit. I really don't do much of that anymore but am still down for an occasional function if it seems like a decent laugh.
