Charis and Gerry

I'm Charis. I'm a full-time ELICOS teacher (English as a second language) and I'm from London in the UK. I like playing board games, reading and I'm generally quite a quiet person (though not unfriendly!) As a teacher, my career is well-paid and reliable, so you'll never need to worry about us not paying bills/rent on time.
My partner is Gerry. He's a part-time ELICOS teacher and a part-time student, studying education. He's a Queensland-native and originally from a small town outside Cairns (Ravenshoe if you know the area!) We've got similar interests, and he enjoys cooking, so if you like homemade meals there's always some leftovers!
We're moving to Brisbane for about four years whilst Gerry finishes his degree. Gerry has a lot of family nearby but none of them have space for the two of us so we're having to look for our own place. That said, we've got a lot of support here.
We're primarily looking for somewhere that's comfortable to live but we're still able to save. Ultimately we would like to own our own house and we're saving for a mortgage. At the moment we're not very fussy where we're living so long as there's basic amenities (like air con!). Gerry has a car, so parking is also a must.
We're hoping to find somewhere by late February because that's when Gerry's course starts.
