Hi! I’m Madison, I’m 28 and work in marketing Monday to Friday, mostly from the office with the occasional WFH day here and there.

I also have a Toy Poodle, Sonny. He’s 3 years old (neutered), weighs under 10kg and is very used to apartment living. He’s a friendly little guy, but a bit socially awkward. He’s not a huge fan of being pet or picked up and will generally just avoid physical affection. He’s not aggressive in any way, he’s just much more comfortable showing his excitement from a distance! He’s also not much of a barker when there’s people home and doesn’t bark at all when no one is home.

One thing to know about Sonny is that he needs access to a courtyard or balcony at all times so he can go to the toilet, especially when nobody is home. I currently have a renter-friendly doggy door set up where the flap has been removed. Sonny has never quite managed to work out how to use one with the flap, despite my best efforts! The doggy door is an insert in the sliding door, and I use a wooden rod in the door track so the sliding door itself can’t be opened from outside.

I’ve been living by myself with Sonny in a ground-floor apartment in Carina for the past two years and we’ve never had an issue with this set up. I also have a little camera that I turn on whenever I leave the house so I can keep an eye on him while I’m out. That said, I completely understand if an open doggy door or balcony/courtyard access isn’t suitable for your place. In that case, we may simply not be the best fit, and that’s totally okay!

Outside of work, I’m a pretty quiet and introverted person who really enjoys my own space and company. On the weekends I’m usually out and about, browsing the shops or New Farm markets, catching up with friends, or exploring dog parks with Sonny. I’m always happy to have a chat, share a meal or hang out, but I’m also someone who is perfectly content doing my own thing, so please don’t take it personally if I disappear into my room or do my own thing more often than not.

I also really value having a clean and tidy home. I’m looking for housemates who feel the same way, appreciate a tidy shared space and are considerate about cleaning up after themselves.
Overall, I’m pretty easygoing and very respectful, and I’m looking for a home that feels comfortable, calm and mutually considerate for everyone, including Sonny!
