Hey, I'm Dan, a 28-year-old Sydneysider making the move to Melbourne for a fresh chapter and a change of scenery.
I've spent the last few years working in marketing and communications, but I'm currently in the middle of a career pivot and will be starting postgraduate psychology studies at the University of Melbourne this summer. Alongside studying, I'll be working part-time.
Outside of work and study, I'm pretty active and enjoy most sports, especially tennis. I run regularly, get to the gym a few times a week, and love spending time outdoors – whether that's hiking, heading to the beach, exploring the mountains, or just getting out into nature. I also enjoy reading (often a completely random mix of books), going to the cinema, and spending way too much money at local cafés on coffee and pastries.
At home, I'm very tidy, considerate, and like to keep shared spaces clean and organised. I'm not a big party person these days, but I do enjoy the occasional drink on the porch or a relaxed night with good conversation. I don’t have pets of my own, but I absolutely love dogs and cats, so I’m very happy in a pet-friendly home.
What I'm really looking for is more than just a room – I'd love to find a genuine home with people who are friendly, open, and keen to build a real connection rather than simply coexisting under the same roof. Since I'm moving cities and building a new community from scratch, having housemates who enjoy spending time together from time to time would be a huge plus.
Ideally, I'd love to live with one other person, though I'm open to a household of three if it's the right fit. Location-wise, I'm hoping for somewhere relatively close to campus, with access to good cafés, parks, public transport, supermarkets and gyms, while still being on the quieter, leafier side of Melbourne.
My timeline is fairly flexible. As I'm not starting uni until summer, I'm not in a huge rush to move, but I'm open to finding the right place at any point in the second half of the year – especially if it means living with great people and getting settled, finding work, and building a life in Melbourne before classes begin.
If that sounds like a good fit, I'd love to chat.
