FYI: pretty flexible with move in date.
Summary:
25, non-smoker, no pets, no kids. Work hours are 8:30am-5pm weekdays. Tidy in shared spaces, honest about my own room. I sing while I cook, play a bit of guitar and keyboard, love board games, and build small AI projects for fun. Quiet for the first few weeks, a lot less so once I know you. I'm after flatmates I'd count as friends rather than people I share a hallway with. Preferably the house would have more than one other person.
Two things I can't budge on: a smoke-free house, and a commute of about 30 minutes by public transport. I use Rich Lane as my reference point, since work is within 500m of it.
Room: unfurnished, with space for a queen bed, a desk and a keyboard (roughly 3.0m x 3.2m). I bring my own bed, desk and cupboard.
Full version for the adventurous:
25-year-old male, non-smoker, no pets, no kids, no social media. Just me and my stuff. My work hours are 8:30am-5pm weekdays (typically).
The non-negotiables first.
Smoke-free. Properly smoke-free, not "we go outside." It's a health thing rather than a judgement thing.
Commute. About 30 minutes door to door. This is probably one of the biggest factors for me. Rich Lane is my measuring stick, since work is within 500m of there, so anywhere roughly half an hour from that by public transport works.
An unfurnished room with real floor space. I need to fit a queen bed, a desk and a keyboard, which works out to about 3.0m x 3.2m at minimum. I bring my own bed, desk and cupboard, so a furnished room is more of a problem than a perk.
On the music, because you should know before rather than after: I sing, I play guitar, and I'm learning piano on a keyboard. Mostly while cooking or in the evening, always at sensible hours, and I'll work around your schedule if something clashes. But I'm not going to pretend it won't happen.
What I'm after is flatmates I end up friends with. Shared dinners, a board game night, someone to complain to about the week. I'm an introverted extrovert leaning introvert, so I'll be fairly quiet for the first few weeks and a lot less so once I know you. Board games are my favourite kind of social event (aside from karaoke), I play video games here and there, and I'm up for most things.
Around the house I'm tidy in the shared areas and a work in progress in my own room. I'd rather say that honestly than promise otherwise. Dishes always get done, the kitchen gets worked back down, and my things stay out of the lounge. Not a big party person, but no problem at all with people having friends over.
I don't drink. Don't mind if you do, I'm just not great with people being properly shitfaced. And please don't try to talk me into it, that one's a pet peeve. The first couple of times are exempt, obviously.
Otherwise I'm into self-improvement and nutrition, and I build small AI side projects to take annoying decisions off my plate. The current one decides what I'm having for dinner. It works pretty well.
If that sounds like a decent fit, say hello.
