I'm Kayla, I'm 36 and I work part-time in the rail industry (it pays well, don't worry), and I'm studying Environmental Science at Deakin. Don't be put off by my low response rate, I just block bot messages without replying!
I'm everything friendly, but especially LGBTIQA+ friendly! I like a clean house, I tidy up after myself and value the same. Random drug testing is part of my job, so I don't drink or party in any way (but I don't care if others do, I only care about it happening outside the house so I can get a good night's sleep lol). I have friends as young (compared to me!) as their early 20s through to their 50s, so age is not a factor for me in who I share with; only how well we get along. I think communication when sharing is key. Not to toot my own horn but I'm a great tenant and I think I'm a good housemate to have as well. I've been renting a long time and I've never missed a payment, I can provide rental receipts going back over 5 years, as well good references and all that. I'm happy to sign onto a lease (preferred). I have some furniture (including white goods) which I'm happy to use to furnish a place. I don't really have a budget, but I'd like to spend less than $1400 per month, and hopefully including a car space. My move date is very flexible. I'm happy where I am but I've found that living alone isn't for me, so I can take my time finding the perfect home for myself with people I get along with.
A little about me; I play a lot of video games, and I'm usually on my computer when I'm at home. I also play board games and have a good collection of them, so if you're into board games, I'm happy to play! I watch anime, listen to music (my old housemates used to tell me the house is quiet and boring when I was away lol), I travel when I can - usually a couple of times per year, and I spend time with my partner at home one or two nights a week.
It's important to me to find a place with enough space to not feel cramped in a bedroom. Something with a study or similar space I could use (or living room etc, just to clarify!) would be ideal if the bedroom is on the smaller side. I'd also really like to be friendly at least, if not friends, with the people I live with, so similar interests would be great.
If you have anything in the eastern suburbs within range of Deakin and the CBD (Collingwood across to Burwood sort of range, including CBD itself) becoming available in the next few months and you think we could be a good fit, please reach out. I'm also happy to apply for places together. Thanks!
