Hey! 👋 I’m Dean — 29, gay, originally from Melbourne and currently plotting my return to Sydney 🌈

I was living in Sydney for a few months, came back to Melbourne to sort a few life things out, and have now decided I’m ready to make the move back and call Sydney home!

A little bit about me:
I’m an Interior Designer and will soon be studying in the AOD/therapeutic field, so a bit of a career pivot is happening! I’m a very creative person and love all things interiors, design and making spaces feel good. So yes, there is a strong chance I’ll mentally rearrange the living room furniture within the first 48 hours — respectfully, of course 😂

Outside of work, I love being outdoors, going for walks, exploring new places and hanging out with friends. I’m still pretty new to Sydney, so I’m keen to keep exploring and finding all the good spots around the city.

What I’m like to live with:
I’m pretty easy-going and like keeping my own space and shared areas clean and tidy. I’m definitely not expecting a display home 24/7 — we’re humans — but I also don’t want to play Jenga with someone else’s dishes every time I need the sink.

I’d love to live with people I can actually get to know and have a laugh with. Ideally, home feels like you’re living with mates rather than a collection of strangers who occasionally cross paths in the kitchen.
That being said, I can absolutely read the room. I love a chat, coffee/dinner together or hanging out when everyone’s feeling social, but I also really value my own downtime and completely respect other people’s privacy and space. Basically, we can be friends without needing to know each other’s every movement 😂

Moving-wise: I’m pretty flexible and can move anytime after 30th September.
Also length of stay can be less than 12 months. Anywhere between 3 -12.
Location-wise: also flexible! The areas I’ve listed are mostly the parts of Sydney I know best, but I’m open to other suburbs as long as there’s decent public transport and getting around doesn’t require three buses, a ferry and a small jet.
