Lukáš

Hi, I'm Lukáš. Originally from the Czech Republic, I've been living in Australia for the past 17 years (10 of them in Alice Springs, 5 in Canberra). I worked as a web designer for those 15 years, in Alice Springs primarily designing and building websites for Aboriginal art centres, and in Canberra working for a not for profit progressive think tank, The Australia Institute.

But here in Sydney, for the past 2 years, I've been back at uni (USyd), completing a Master of Political Economy. Right now, I’m in the final stretch, working on my thesis.

I am a curious and caring person, keen to understand how the world works and how to make it a better place.

I don't like living on my own so looking for a nice sharehouse with likeminded people, peaceful enough so I can work on my thesis. I value kindness, generosity and honesty and strive to build a sense of community in the house, where housemates help and support each other. I've lived in sharehouses for about 19 years now so I'd say I'm well versed in the communal living. I'm very clean and tidy and I'm really good at making sure the house doesn't run out of cleaning products, toilet paper, olive oil and other communal resources!

I'm pretty social and love to hang out with my housemates - random chats in the kitchen, communal dinners, game or movie nights, but I also need to be able to retreat to my own space for some me time. I love cooking, especially while having a wee glass of wine and listening to a radio drama, and board games (Settlers of Catan, Dominion and 6-takes are my favourite) and I'm pretty engaged with the politics and the world affairs so always up for a chat about those. I am also a very outdoorsy person - love hiking, cycling, snowboarding and generally spending time out in nature so I love being so close to the stunning Blue Mountains and all the beautiful Sydney beaches. I also ride a mountain unicycle and play ultimate frisbee down at Coogee Beach every Friday.
