Hi! I'm Aleithia (she/her, 32), moving from San Francisco to Melbourne to start my PhD at Monash.
I'll be doing my PhD in more than human rights/narratives and cultural production, and have previously worked in climate, peacebuilding, communications, philanthropy. Have loads of share house experience since college and can provide references. Grew up in Singapore and England, and have since lived in Vietnam, Colombia, the US and now Australia -- so I appreciate a global/multicultural environment.
I'm looking for a furnished bedroom with good natural light, as well as enough space to work from home, as I'll spend a few days a week working on my PhD from home. Willing to pay a little more if there are gym/pool amenities in the building/apartment complex.
I’m a bit of an ambivert and have social phases but also lean toward a peaceful restful home environment. Outside of work I like incorporating movement into my day (walks, yoga, pilates, dance, swimming, gym), and exploring communities/practices in trauma/collective healing. I'm hoping to make friends with my new housemates as I'll be new to the city. Would love to host the occasional dinner party, as well as plan some weekend beach and backpacking trips.
